"You're welcomed to join us in our dire quest," Isadora jokingly smiled to Amelia after Tiki explained. "Otherwise, we may have to come to the ball in rags. Perhaps we may come across a fairy who can grant us our help."

She wasn't sure if the manakete had heard the tale of a servant girl who later became a princess after her magical guardian helped her go to the royal ball. Or perhaps the story wasn't even from her world. However, she did wish they did have a magical guardian who could help them. It would be grateful to not only help them find suitable dresses to the ball, but also to end the current war they were end. This war had been dragging for quite so long, she was unsure if there was a peaceful moment as well as fun. Speaking about fun...

"C'mon, let's check out the dresses," Isadora spoke to Tiki and Amelia as she looked over the counter, fulled of girl dresses. "I'm sure we can-"

Isadora picked up the dress that has stopped her from talking.

The dress had a puce color. It had a ruffle skirt that looked like it was made for a ballet. The top shirt had grayish polka dots with embroidered images of- Were those poorly images of the Learanian Heroes?! With Keros giving what looked like a grumpy look and Castello giving a wink, and- Was Ledreak making a "838" face?! ... ... ...

The Dame Knight folded the dress before putting back on the counter and placed more dresses on top of it. She then turned to the girls. "Let's pretend we didn't see that dress and move on. How about this dress, Tiki?" Isadora asked as she quickly picked up a lace, pastel pink dress, hoping to change the subject.

Sister Victoria

When he arrived to spend the day with her, Victoria couldn't help but notice that Ephraim had his hand over his forehead. She frowned. Did the idea of spending the day with her cause him such distress? She would have to prove she was fun to be around.

When the man spoke, he did make a point. The actual dance wouldn't be for a few more hours. The whole point was to give people a chance to spend a day on the town. Ephraim was already being so polite. He'd said it was up to Victoria to pick their destination. Perhaps his ill feelings were toward something else.

There was only one problem. What did she do on her time off? Pray usually. But Victoria couldn't be certain of Ephraim's religion and didn't want to bring her faith into this. Her eyes searched the street, as if trying to look for some kind of sign. Surely St. Elimine would lead her to the right place at the right time!

Then, she saw it. Just up ahead was a path leading to a wonderful garden. The flowers stretched as far as the eyes could see, their petals blooming all sorts of colors, even in the chillier weather.

"This place will do nicely." Victoria said, pointing toward the garden down the street. "A walk among the flowers is always relaxing. Their smell is lovely too, as you can imagine." she said. "Artists sometimes come to these places too! I wonder if they'd draw our portraits."

Victoria didn't state whether the portraits would be together or separate. She'd leave that up to Ephraim's imagination.

Loch smiled gently at the two as he finished up his notes. "So, that is a house special, you should enjoy it, a black tea with cream for Blossom, and the same for the gentleman Oujay." He closed his notepad and nodded approvingly. "I shall take this immediately to the kitchen and have it prepared for you. It will only take a short while, so do feel free to mingle without interruption." He began to turn away, and added "Oh, and do not worry about payment. Consider this meal as complimentary. Please enjoy yourself!"

He took his notes back to the kitchen, where he passed them to his lead kitchen associate. Olaf was a large, burly man who seemed to have a tenuous grasp on the English language, but damn was he a good chef. He had thick facial hair all wrapped up in a mask to be presentable in the kitchen, and he looked like he'd killed a man or a few hundred with his bare hands. He took the note, then took a look at Loch. "You! You have good hair. Why is bird man in kitchen, hm?"

"Excuse me?" Loch asked. "I do not follow."

"Hair! Your hair is such beauty and the kitchen, the kitchen is no place for good hair. I have cousin back in Adliana. Esteban. Pink guy, magnificent moustache! He has ancient Adliana hair recipe. I obtain for you, yes? Much thanks for job!"

Loch just... nodded at Olaf. "You are a good worker, Olaf. I trust the appetites of the patrons will be very satisfied in your hands."

Olaf laughed heartily. "Yes, yes! I prepare food for many customer!" He set to work, and Loch quickly showed himself out to prepare two mugs of tea.

x - [Leon Vatara] - x

So here it was. Valentines' day. It was supposed to be filled with chocolates, greeting cards, flowers, and other sentimental things. But Leon was having none of it. He didn't even make it to the bachelor auction. A few of the ladies tried to convince him to join, but he was stuck with paperwork. Leon was always stuck with paperwork, even before becoming Captain! Now it seemed as if the stuff multiplied!

He'd left Anri in the stables, giving his trusted war horse some much needed rest while he signed his life away. He'd started to hum music, unaware that he was starting to sing until he heard a shout. Leon's hand instinctively covered his mouth, as he jumped in his chair. The knock on the door startled him more than the calling of his name.

"This better be important." Leon grumbled. He didn't want more papers piling on his desk because he was idle.

Leon sighed, pulling the door back from its handle. To his surprise, Constable Sain of all people was at the door. Leon thought that unusual. "This kinda romantic holiday would be just his thing. Why's he comin' back to work?" Leon thought. He seemed to have brought a newcomer with him.

"Good afternoon, Constable Sain! I see we've gotta guest at the Watch House today!" Leon said, nodding in Blythe's general direction. "I'm Captain Leon Vatara of the Eyris City Watch." he said, extending his hand to shake it with Blythe's. "But I dun' mind anyone addressin' me by my first name! Everyone uses it."

Abel Fallon

PostPosted: Tue Dec 10, 2013 6:04 pm

Abel didn't respond to Annis' call, because he didn't realize that she was calling to him. When she landed by him, he looked around, but then rolled his eyes when he realized she was talking about him. "Very funny." Abel responded unamused, as he folded his arms.

He glanced over at Annis numerous times, seeing that she was looking him over and with each glance, he tensed up a little more and grew a little more red. He held back his words, but couldn't help but give in to her teasing after she poked his cheek. "Baaah!" He flailed his arms, swatting her hand away from his almost entirely red face. "It isn't anything like that! She's a member of the team, she was just saving me is all. You didn't have to fight her over it..."

When Tibarn showed up and joined in on the teasing, his head sunk over his shoulders with an unamused expression on his face, but he still returned Tibarn's grin with a half-assed one of his own. It was hard to be cool when the Hawk King was standing next to you.

Abel sat up straight in slight surprise when Clara arrived. As she spoke, he took the jacket and began to put it back on. "Right, now we can go on that date..." He remained silent for one second as he slipped his arms into the sleeves. "DATE?!" His eyes went wide and he flushed again as he saw people around turn and look at him after his shout. He quickly turn away from them and faced Clara. "Well see I- ...That is, this- And the- But you see-" He looked pitifully at Annis and Tibarn and then back at Clara and smiled nervously. He knew he couldn't back out of an abligation and didn't want to hurt Clara's feelings. "Right. Date." He paused for a few seconds. "....How do I do that?"

Clara Risna
-----------------------------------------

When she heard Abel yell in surprise, Clara frowned a little. Did he not want to have this date? Was she not good enough for him? Doubt was starting to fill her thoughts.

Then she heard something from Abel that sounded like he was ok to do this date. While he seemed ok to do the date, the man had no clue how a date went.

"Well it where two people who like each other do things together and just them." She explained, "Both people need to enjoy it for it to go well. I really do want it to go over well." Clara blushed a little bit. "So how about we go to the Hostess club?"

Blythe grew mildly anxious during the ride to the Watch’s Eyris Headquarters whilst mentally preparing himself for physically oriented training. This was what he’d signed up for – he’d do whatever was asked of him, whatever was necessary in order get closer to his goals! And he was learning from experts. Although the troubadour’s pride might make him yearn to master this on his own, he knew there was no better way to grasp a craft than to have an adept teacher guide you, first. It was how he’d learned his craft he now made a living from.

Upon arrival and after getting Cesario to the stable to keep Homeros company, Blythe grew nervous when Sain called for his captain on this holiday. “Oh no, I don’t want to inconvenie-“ Sain seemed to be having none of it and moments later a man in black and purple armor answered the door and began introducing himself. The man certainly didn’t seem to be bothered by their visitation, to Blythe’s relief. Interesting accent, too, Blythe note; never heard one quite like it. Blythe’s courtesy and professionalism went into auto-pilot immediately from there and the Troubadour extended his hand to shake Leon’s.

“A great pleasure to meet you, Captain Vatara, sir. I’ll gladly address you as Captain Leon if you prefer, however. My name is Blythe Mandurel,” the Troubadour started, “I utilize staves. I’m not professionally tied to any religious entity, however; many people automatically associate staff users with members of the cloth. Your Constable Sain is providing me guidance on how to better handle myself in combat situations this afternoon.”

Ladies how about a lovely dinner?

"Well," Sain started, "Blythe here won me in the date auction that was hosted by the Hostess Club. He wanted someone who knows mounted combat, and was willing to out bid women in order to get what he wanted." He paused for a moment to chuckle at the bidding war that had happened not too long ago.

"Anyway, while my sword and lance combat are great, my axe combat is not as good as yours Captian. I was hoping you would help me out in giving Blythe some axe defense knowledge. Let him see how an axe master fights. How about it?" Sain was really hoping to get some help from Leon on axes not just for Blythe, but for himself as well. He knew he needed some work with axes.

The wind howled, and raged outside; tossing leaves every where, and whistling through bare branched trees. The chill was biting, and it seeped easily through the willowy gown that the gentle cleric, Natasha usually wore. Her hands were clasped anxiously before her chest, big blue eyes taking in the warm glimmer of light spilling out from a great hall. She could hear noise carrying on the wind; shouting, and boisterous laughter filling up the empty streets.

She was new to these parts, not knowing even a single soul, and as silly as it seemed she was a little afraid. But, the soft glow of light and copious laughter beckoned her frozen feet forward. Natasha opened the door, and found dozens of strange people inhabiting the room. Timidly, she shuffled in from the cold; the heat in the room gradually seeping into her numb limbs, sending prickles across her skin. She only had a few moments to take in the bustle of activity around her, before she was ushered over to a seat.

There were so many people in the room, and too much activity going on for her to focus on any one thing in particular. So, she instead busied herself with staring at her tightly clasped hands in her lap; and she silently prayed that some one could guide her.

"I can't just abandon a date like that, it's not right... What if this were a female date auction, a-and I was up there and the person who won me just abandoned me because they found somebody they wanted more..." She hung her head. "I'd just want to curl up in a ball forever... I can't do that to somebody else..." She eyed around shyly. "Where is he, anyway...?"

She moved passed him, grabbing his shirt on the way. "You won't be needing this for the rest of the day. Hope you like the cold. Let's go, there's a loooot of chores over at the barracks that need getting done."

Once they arrived at the barracks, the soldiers jumped to attention, but Vaida waved her hand to get them back to work. "Wait here" she said to Gale as she went into her office. After a minute or two, she emerged with a few things in her hand. First, she handed him some parchment. "Here's a list for you to take care of first. Clear the snow, move the weapons and cover them, stack the wood and whatever else it says." She then handed him some piece of cloth. "And here's what you can wear while you're doing that. Get back to me when you're done."

A few minutes later, Vaida once again came out of her office, dressed snugly in winter clothing. A pair of soldiers hauled out a lounge chair, which Vaida promptly reclined in and then covered herself with a blanket. She didn't normally put off work for everybody but herself, nor did she particularly like to, but today was special. And hey, somebody needed to supervise her prize at work.

She nearly flinched as Loch mentioned that the meal was complimentary, though, face turning pink. "A-Are-- Are you s--" And he was walking away crap "Th-Thank you, Loch!" she called nervously after him, waving a hand. She sighed quietly and brushed her fringe away from her eyes, pushing one pigtail off of her shoulder and down her back again. "H-Hehe..."

She relaxed against her seat, looking back at Oujay with a warm smile. "Sorry about that, um... a-anyway, I wanted to ask, why did you participate?" She leaned against the table a little, elbows on the table and chin in her hands. "I mean, it's-- it's nice to relax, I think, I'm just curious to know why you offered yourself up for it. I don't know if I would've expected it of you, it's just... interesting." She brushed her hair away from her eyes again. "Did you decide to do it on your own, or did someone else encourage you?"

She leaned back in her chair, rubbing a hand sheepishly against her cheek and jawbone as she looked around the room before looking encouragingly back at Oujay. It was strange to think about; she was technically on a date right now, even if it was someone she had only really considered a friend before now. I mean, if I'm not in love with him, it's not really a date, right? It's just two friends spending time with one another. It's better than spending a cold day like this by yourself...

He should have saw this coming. He did admit that it would have been wrong. But surely Alex understood why he was being told to do this. Course, he took one glance on over and found him back at the stage. He seemed to be offering a smile and a nod before heading back behind the curtains once more.

"I'm almost positive that he'll understand what is going on. And so..." He added, turning his gaze back to Mihira. "What do you say?" He asked once more, extending his hand towards her once more.

I'm on Crew, so no matter what I'd need to also be there." She looked curiously around at the rows of dresses, folding her arms behind her back. "I don't have a dress either, though. I don't usually dress nearly this fancy for work, so I don't have anything appropriate for such a nice dance."

"You're welcomed to join us in our dire quest. Otherwise, we may have to come to the ball in rags. Perhaps we may come across a fairy who can grant us our help."

Amelia laughed, smiling wide. "I don't know, the fairy might not know what sort of gown suits you best. Either way, I'd love to help two nice ladies find some pretty dresses for a dance." She bowed slightly, then stood upright again, smoothing her vest out over her belly. She strolled a few quiet paces away as Isadora rapidly stuffed some sort of bizarre mishmash of fabric and unfortunate needlework into the pile. Her gaze landed on a green gown with a wide slit cut up the front, with a delicate white skirt underneath. She stared at it for a while, considering it in silence.

"...pretty," she murmured, walking over and touching the fabric with the tips of her fingers. Like spun water, she thought, feeling the material slip past her fingers. She hesitated for a moment, then turned to a nearby employee and spoke to her quietly before looking around again. "U-Um, hey, Isadora!" She glanced around the room, then quickly pointed at a gown hanging on the wall, a long, sleek number in dark blue, with beading through the long train that resembled stars. It had thin straps, but the collar was modest. "What do you think about that one for you? I think it'd flatter your arms nicely."

x - [Leon Vatara] - x

"The pleasure's all mine, Blythe. I'm happy to meet anyone that'd give me an excuse to get away from my desk." Captain Vatara said, shooting an irritated glare in the direction of his choatic mountain of paperwork. He listened as Blythe and Sain continued to explain why the troubador was here.

"Yer here to... train under me? Well, I have taken on a few pupils. It comes with bein' an officer." Leon said. "And he got Sain to agree to training as well? This guy's good. Normally I can't get that lover boy to pay attention to my lessons!" The Watch Captain thought. There was a hint of envy in those words. Leon was Sain's superior but his words didn't matter in the face of pretty girls. Perhaps Blythe had a secret to getting the Paladin in green armor to listen. He would find out soon enough.

When Sain called him a master of axes, Leon wasn't sure what to feel. It was true that Sain could have just been flattering him to make up for the times he tried to visit Lady Isadora instead of doing his rounds. But on the flip side, Leon still sparred with his weapons every day, and his axe was his favorite. He must have mastered them, even if he was still a bit touch and go with swords.

Leon quickly snapped out of the reverie by clearing his through. "He is right, you know, there's no axe fighter who can beat me in the Main Watch House! Or any Watch House for that matter. If yer interested in defense though, there's one thing that makes it easier." Leon walked over to the left side of his office, taking a small shield off the wall. "Try and hold this, Blythe. It was mine when I was younger. Our armory has a lot of shields like it. A good piece of round metal can come between ya and any weapon, even a heavy one like an axe or an armorslayer."

The serpent in the corner unfolded himself slowly, dwarfing the friends and customers around him as he continued to play his guitar, a quiet, but intense bolero intended to give the room its intended romantic atmosphere. He slithered among the gathered patrons, greeting them as he went, using his sheer ability to cut through crowds with his size to push people against one another, encourage 'accidental' contact, which of course led to chatting, which led to buying drinks, which could even lead to a nice warm bed!

But here was a girl alone at a table on Valentine's day! Pretty young human lass, sitting by herself? Oh no no, that wouldn't do at all! The reptile crossed to her, flashing a winning smile as he played, bowing a bit. "Good morning, miss! So good to see you. Is this your first time at this establishment?" he asked, eye flicking to the side. Something was going on with Zeiss and that poor girl from the wyvern guard... Mi-hi-something. And her date was... to go dateless? A wicked little smile crossed his lips. "I'm Ganon, proprietor and entertainment for the Hostess Club," he told her, turning his attention back to Natasha. "A pleasure, I'm sure. As you can see, we're... just a bit busy, but let me make sure someone's along to serve you momentarily!" He bowed again, then darted off through the crowd, tromping quickly up onto the stage and ducking behind the curtain.

"Alex!" Perhaps he could take some unfortunate circumstance and flip it into something wonderful! He'd just have to see... "Alex, I hear there's been a bit of a mix-up with your date," he called, looking around for the lad.
