Kanoko prefers to get straight to the point and not waste time, approaching people and events simply and directly. Having a tendency towards being straightforward, almost blunt, in her interactions with others, she can’t really be said to be all that friendly, but is generally amiable enough unless someone does something to specifically anger her - which is probably a little too easy to do. Kanoko's quick to anger and tends to be a little short tempered with troublemakers, or at least anyone she sees as such. However, she's not the type of person to hold grudges and is said to be rather non-judgmental, so she's just as quick to forgive as is to anger and doesn't really see anyone as an enemy in the long run. It's been stated that Kanoko treats everyone the same, whether they're humans or some other creature, giving them no particular respect or disrespect. Having a bit of a curious nature, she tends to be somewhat nosy, and doesn’t hesitate to pry into other people’s business and maybe even push herself into the situation as well. Kanoko is also seen as the motherly type, due to caring nature towards others. She tries to take care of others and point them into the direction of good. If a person does anything wrong, she'll scold and lecture them to know end about it. Kanoko is known to be highly protective as well, mainly to those who are close to her. She does have the tendency of being a little controlling.
But they don't know me:
Kanoko's family had owned a shrine, the Mokou shrine, which was named after their family. Her father was a priest, while her mother was the miko, or also known as shrine maiden or priestess. Kanoko only took care of small things around the shrine, such as sweeping around with a broom. In her free time, she often watched her mother practice rituals and carry out her job as the miko. It was a good thing Kanoko observed these things too, because later on it'd come in handy.
Sadly, Kanoko's mother had passed away from an illness. With her gone, this left the position of miko left open and without one, the shrine couldn't run properly. Her father thought that perhaps it was time to pass the shrine onto another family to take care of, but Kanoko was willing to participate and take the role, despite her still being very young. Even so, she was able to do the required things and learned new things too, like how to create magic barriers. For a while she stayed in this position. Well, until someone had complained about there being an extremely young girl being a priestess.
Many in the surrounding town had complained about Kanoko, so she had no choice but to step down and quit until she became older. In the meantime, Kanoko has been going to this new school and is helping out by being a guardian. After this, she's probably going to be returning back to her position as a shrine maiden.
Miko's Protection
Kanoko is able to create a magical barrier that surrounds her, as well as any person that stands next to her. This barrier acts just like a shield, blocking any attack and providing protection for Kanoko and those surrounding her. However, just like any other power, there is a flaw. The barrier doesn't last long and it weakens every time it is hit with an attack. Eventually, the barrier will break down.
Floating
Kanoko has the ability to fly and float. However, it only lasts a short time. After being in the air for a while, she looses some of her energy and has to return to the ground.
I've mastered this:
Kanoko often uses spellcards to help assist her in battle. The majority of these spellcards are light and healing magic. Relying only on spellcards as source of magic can be quite tricky, though. Sometimes they are quite accurate and other times they can backfire.
