I already have a 3DS, therefore this does not effect me.
I can understand where they're coming from though. Early news about the 3DS was rife with complaints of headaches and eye strain many parents concerned what the 3D effects would do to the eyes of their children.
The 2DS is only for concerned parents with children so if you don't have any kids you shouldn't worry about it.
I do kinda think it's weird that it doesn't close and is pretty much a tablet, it's not very portable and I'm assuming it still has the streetpass and stepcoin functionality.

Honestly I think the 2DS is for anybody that:
A biggrin oesnt have enough money for the 3DS
B:Children under the age of 7
I'm thinking about buying it and Pokemon X or Y on October 12 rofl

The 2ds is just a bulky excuse for a new system. Nintendo, in my opinion could do so much better.
