"Careful," Heimdall called when the ground gave way under Nisha. Not that his call was of any real help, since the leopard handled it just fine. It wouldn't be easy to rescue someone unlucky enough to fall into the water at this point. He heard a splash up ahead and raised his head in time to see Paean recover from his mud bath. Best be careful, because he did not want to risk dropping Nari. Heimdall focused on the task at hand and dug his claws into the treacherous ground to try to stay on all four paws.
They reached the den area without further incident, but the landscape looked strange, almost alien. The stream they have been following has carved away a large part of the mountainside that used to hold so many dens. Other dens have collapsed from the flood and rain. Several very muddy survivors are picking through the collapsed remains, but they stop to greet the muddy and weary group.
"Bojan," a cub squeaks and waves until it falls over in the mud, "Bojan the Hero!"
It appears Bojan has an interesting tale to tell, but it will have to wait.
For now, all Heimdall could focus on was what wasn't there. Unless he's very much mistaken the Royal dens used to lie in the middle of the bubbling stream. He searched the face of every survivor, relieved to see familiar ones. But two were missing... Another lion met his gaze and slowly shook his head.
But Before Heimdall could ask about the missing Royals, a cheetah raced up the other path as if her tail was on fire. It took a few heartbeats for her to calm down enough to talk.
"The autumn queen…" she said, and then she had to stop to catch her breath again.
Heimdall felt his heart grow cold. Not Madakata.
"What about Madakata," he prompted the exhausted cheetah.
((Ending in 1-2 days if you want to react to this))

Wing was careful as they walked through the mud, having noticed a few of the other felines and canines slipping and sliding beside her. She cast a worried glance over her shoulder from time to time to make sure her son's body was still safe. She'd dive back into the river to recover it if she had to, but she was so exhausted and mentally worn out that she hoped they'd all make it back safely.
They did, but the destruction at the dens was horrible. The devastation made her heart ache, and she moved to stand between Heimdall and her son, and Nisha who had supported her the whole way along. She nuzzled a tiny, limp paw as her tail curled around the leopardess', trying to not assume the worst had happened here. It was hard, though, and when a cheetah ran up to them breathless and Heimdall stiffened beside her, she feared the worst.
Lifting her head, the words finally reached her ears. The autumn queen...her dens...they were gone. She wasn't anywhere around. Autumn was Wing's season, and those in her clan were like family to her. She let out a quiet gasped, pressing her face against Nisha's shoulder as she squeezed her eyes closed. She couldn't be gone...it would be too much.
"Please...please don't let her be gone," she whimpered, more to herself than to anyone. It was a hard enough time with her son now dead, but her clan leader?

Nisha nodded to Heimdall at his warning; it wasn't really very useful, but at least it displayed the lion's concern. A sick sort of squelch up ahead made the leopardess snap her head around, and she caught sight of Paean picking himself up from the muck. On a regular day, the situation would have been humorous. On a regular day.
As they reached the dens - or rather, the area where the dens had been - Nisha almost stumbled over her paws in disbelief. The destruction was immense. She hardly had time to be in awe, though, as a heavier weight followed Wing's retreat into her pelt. Though she had heard the words, only now did Nisha truly realize she had. Her pelt started to bristle in fear and horror, and it took all the strength she could muster to keep it flat lest her fear further upset Wing. The poor girl had lost too much already today. Still, Madakata meant far too much to Nisha - regardless of their opposing clans - for her to keep her heart from beating so hard it nearly choked her.
The few heartbeats it took for the strange cheetah to answer were too long, and despite her obvious exhaustion, Nisha pressed, "What has happened to Madakata?"

The cub purred as he was helped to his feet by Bojan.
"But you digged me out," the cub said, "Me and mommy!"
To him that was plenty heroic! Luckily, the little one was blissfully unaware of the drama that was unfolding a few paces away.
Vappu looked unhappy, she had never meant to cause worry about Madakata's well-being, but she had managed to run out of air on the way here.
"She's... Madakata is okay..." she panted, "She said... she said... The Winter King..."
Perhaps she shouldn't have run this fast, but the message was important.
"Where's the King and Queen?" she asked with sudden urgency.
Heimdall tried to be patient, but it was difficult to understand what the cheetah was trying to say. Madakata was fine, at least. As Autumn Queen, and mate to the King of his own season, she held a special place in his heart. All the royals were important to the pride, of course. It pained him that he couldn't give Vappu a good answer.
"We haven't seen the Summer King and the Spring Queen," he said, and looked to one of the pride members that had started to gather around.
"They're missing," a voice from the crowd filled in, "It doesn't look good."
Vappu deflated, but when she talked again she wasn't as breathless as she had been.
"No," she said, "I was supposed to tell them... I was supposed to tell them that the Winter King didn't make it."
Heimdall closed his eyes for a few heartbeats, but that was the only visible sign of his grief. He had lost his King, and so had Ester and Paean. The cheetah Vappu had lost her Queen, and the cheetah Wing had lost her cub. Each and every pride member had lost something in this wretched storm, but now was not the time to grieve. He opened his Eyes, and squared his shoulders.
"What can we do to help here?" he asked the gathered pride members. He'd mourn the loss later. For now he wanted to help his fellow pride members in any way he could.

The RP is officially over and there will be no more mule posts, but feel free to post more in the thread if you'd like to. This RP can be used as a JRP as long as the character involved had posted at least once. Once you've got your cert please post it in the joining thread so we can update the member list.
The Winter King was swallowed up in a mud slide, but he managed to save Madakata, the Autumn Queen. The Summer King and the Spring Queen are missing, presumed dead, since their den was washed away in the flash flood. Last time anyone saw them they were going into that den to seek shelter from the storm, and no one have seen them since...
The pride will go through confusing times, trying to rebuild and recover what was lost. The way the pride is ruled will change slightly, but there will be an announcement regarding that later. For now you can just assume that everyone is focusing on picking up the pieces and planning the festivities for the upcoming season. They wouldn't be Sikukuu if they stopped planning parties after all!
Thank you so much for playing!

Nishati exhaled, letting out a breath she hadn't known she was holding, when Vappu told the gathered pride members that Madakata was okay. The release of the tension, however, revealed just how tired she was from the days events and she started to lightly shake. Ensuring that she was still the main support, she leaned gently against Wing.
The news of the Winter King's death was the final blow, proving to be too much for the thoroughly exhausted leopardess. Nisha lowered herself into the mud - she was already dirty and soaked through, what did it matter? - slowly so as to give Wing the warning that her support was going to be gone, or the chance to follow suit. Even though Nishati despised the winter, she felt the loss of it's King keenly. Her father had been Mrao, and cared deeply for his King. On top of that, a war of hope and pessimism was raging inside her at the fate of her own clan leader. Gathering from the mutterings of those around her, most believed that the Summer King and Spring Queen were dead.
Heimdall's determined words made Nisha look up from her mud-spattered paws; flattening her ears in mirrored resolve, she forced herself back up, baring her teeth against her screaming muscles. The big lion was right. As a pride, they needed to stay strong in the face of this tragedy. If they all fell apart like she almost had... Nisha didn't even want to consider the implications. She padded to Heimdall's side and pressed against his flank, trying to lend strength and comfort - and also share in his. "Where you lead, I will follow." she growled quietly.
