Dai the merman sat on a rock sharpening his trident, when suddenly, a ship is in sight! He stroke a pose as the ship was going by, almost like a statue.

looking over the side of her deck, she stared at what she thought was a statue, wondering how something like that ended up on a rock very close to the middle of no where...
"MEN! MAKE A RIGHT! IT LOOKS TO BE TREASURE !!" she bellowed to the rest of her crew

As he saw they were approaching, he heard a demanding voice coming from the ship, as it was female. This made his job a lot more easier, and moved from his pose and pointed his trident at them. He shouted to them, "Is King Alexander alive?..." He tried not to laugh as they try to analyze the irony of his question.

((Started reading some Mermaid lore, this should be fun. emotion_dowant .))
