MiniBoBini If you would like to go ahead and make a ridiculously huge list of everyone's Shimmers and Tinsels, you go right ahead. xD It wouldn't have to be a huge list, is we just have the posts for gold/ silver/ bronze with a the person's name and a link to the scroll instead of listing each dragon sepratly, and if they want to make a google list then we could link to that as well. MiniBoBini The real point of this thread is just so that everyone in the Guild can see who has what Shimmers, and those of us who are willing can help fellow guild members get their hands on some of the nicer Shimmerscales out there. ^_^ Then maybe the thread should be re-titled because calling it shimmer swapping makes it sound link people who are looking to swap one shimmer for another, to try to get ones that are not related to each other and all. MiniBoBini Remember, there is still the Dragon Breeder's page, too. And, of course, the Incubator. If you happen to be after a Tinsel, all you have to do is ask. ^_^ But isn't that the same for shimmers as well? Why should one dragon breed have a special thread devoted to it when the other prize dragons are ignored? I've seen a few people posting in here (and I think in the incubator as well) saying oh I like the idea but mine aren't low gen so sorry I can't participate... it seems that your "idea" wasn't clearly stated, as I am still a little confused why if not all shimmers are accepted this is not just a post in the trading/breeding thread.

I'm going to try and address everyone's concerns all in one post... Sapphire Lapis Sadly I don't have anything short enough. My shortest is a 7th gen. I'm hoping I can find someone willing to trade a short one though. ShebaLatray Very cool idea! 4laugh I wish I could help though....all mine are generation 8+. But good luck! There are actually two "real" points to this thread. I'm sorry that I wasn't very clear about it before. I'm still working on this whole thing, you know. Yes, the first and I guess "main" point is so that guild members can swap Shimmers for Shimmers, but I also wanted it to be set up in a way so that other guild members who were looking for Shimmers didn't have to go rooting through scrolls or just begging around in general. While that's not this thread's main goal, I still want everyone to feel like they are able to participate. If they do come here and set up a trade of some sort for a low-gen Shimmerscale, then once their dragon hatches and grows up, they too can start swapping Shimmer for Shimmer.Taenamyr MiniBoBini Remember, there is still the Dragon Breeder's page, too. I haven't seen as much demand for other rares, such as Tinsels, as I have lately been seeing for the Shimmerscales. I'm not trying to be bias or anything against other dragons. We've just been featuring Shimmers a lot lately, and they're just very popular right now. Tinsels have been around for so long that I kind of figured that by now, everyone has at least one or two, and those who don't can very easily get their hands on one simply by asking. I've sometimes even seen them in the abandoned pile in the cave.
Another reason that I currently have the limit set to 6G and lower is because I'm not sure who owns what, and I figured 6G was just an easy number generation to start at. In the DC forums, I believe "rare" shimmers are considered 4G or 5G and lower. I never said that it has to remain at 6G and lower forever. It's just a place to start at.
I also never said that just because you don't own a certain generation dragon doesn't mean you can't participate. Everyone is more than welcome to participate. I would love for as many guild members as possible to participate.
My "idea" might not have been clearly stated because, remember, this thread is still very much under construction. That means that the idea itself is also under construction. This is supposed to be a specialized thread just for Shimmers. Yes, it is a trading thread, but nowhere do the rules state that we're only allowed to have one. Look at the DC Forums, for example. There are lots of different trading threads set up on there. Why don't they just use one trading thread? There are trading threads for rare dragons, for rare and metallic dragons, there are take one/leave one threads, etc. Anyway, I'm still working very hard on this thread, and I want it to be helpful to everyone, not just a select few people who happen to have low-gen Shimmerscales. I'm open to ideas, and willing to try something different out if this doesn't end up working out to everyone's benefit.
If my idea to have a trading thread set up specifically for Shimmerscales really bothers you that much, then please feel free to set up your own thread for Tinsels, for rare dragons, for all prize dragons, for whatever you want. In fact, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea to have a few different trading threads run by different guild members. You could set it up however you wanted to and manage it however you wanted to.

It will be less job for Minibobini which I am sure are currently busy in real life like the rest of the members. Like probably, I like penk descendant (tinsel) and would like to trade for a lower gen or the same gen as my shimmer. Or perhaps a cb blusang, cb gold, cb silver, cb opals, cb coppers or a nice clean descendant of tinsels. That is just my preference though. Other members will have some sort of what they wants for their shimmer's offspring.

As for the question of other breeds getting their own threads, Admin aren't the only ones who can do this. If y'all have a breed you want to highlight, go on ahead an create the thread. We ARE the only ones who can make them stickies, but we have no problem doing that where applicable. These threads are GIFTS threads, really. Complaining/questioning gifts isn't really a very considerate. It makes me sad to see that.

I never remember IOU's either, so I ask for PM's and then I keep them to go back to for reference. If I had the wherewithal to do that spread sheet, I know it would be easier for others. I'm thinking I'll just link to the specific page on my scroll, if that's possible, for others to look at, if they want one of mine. I'll have to figure it out tomorrow. I worked over 60 hours this week and need my sheets and pillow, and Eeyore, for a good 10 hours. smile
