Naksatrani was stuck in the den, just sitting there and not saying a word. He was to stay at home to be company to his brother; Cetus. The boys looked a bit alike, yet they completely weren't; their markings were a tad different and Trani's eyes were more of a cyan color that his brother's. They had to stay inside while they siblings were caught up with the Pombuka of the pride, since there were supposedly new arrivals coming upon their shores. It was weird; their parents actually trusted them by themselves while they were gone. Looking to his sibling, he decided to finally speak, though it would be expected he would cut himself off and resume it more shortly. "Hey, brother, is it...." He said and like always, he cut himself off in his sentence and gave a moment of silence. "....Alright for this?" He finished, wondering if it was a good idea to be left alone in the den while everyone was nowhere around or too busy. He was unreadable with his mindless expression, like pure darkness and not a single light, and he was a bit slow on the uptake of major things. It was only him and Cetus; they were the only male children in the family at this moment, so the females could obviously overrun them by number and gender.

Cetus yawned softly as he dug his claws into the sandy bottom of the den. He loved the feeling of the little grains of sand against his paws. Constantly shifting, it was always a new sensation and he never got tired of it. He, like his brother, wasn't too sure why they had been left alone, but he wasn't nearly as focused on it as Nak was. The question made him lift his head and pause in his kneading of the sand. He thought about it for a bit before nodding, a little smile on his face. "Yeah, I don't see why not. I don't think mom and dad would leave us for too long if it weren't okay." He rolled onto his back to shake his paws free from the sand before standing, making his wobbly way over to his brother to lay beside him. Walking was still kind of hard to do on the sand, but he was getting the hang of it. "If we stay in the den nothing will happen to us. We're nice and safe here. Plus it's a lot cooler than out in the sun!" He had gone outside to lay in it one day, but with his dark coat he quickly found it became unbearable. The shade was much nicer.

He nodded in reply, looking at his brother plainly. "Very true...." He began to say and yet again paused himself before continuing. "....Indeed, Brother." He finished and yawned lightly as he peered out of the entrance. Of course they would burn up quickly because most of their family consisted of those with blackish pelts, yet one of their sisters had a white pelt, though the same rule applied. With a flick of his tail, she was a bit exhausted from just sitting there, so he laid down on his stomach and looked at his brother. Today was a day of surprise; the islands far far away that were covered by fog finally revealed themselves, along with some of their inhabitants. While the adults were handling it all, they decided to leave their children behind to keep away in case something wrong happens. Looking at his brother again, he flicked his tail at him to give themselves something to do to pass the time since there was nobody else to see.

Cetus nodded slightly and rolled back to his stomach to knead at the sandy floor again. He had no idea what was going out out among the pride, but he did know he wanted to go out and explore. If he didn't love his parents so much he might have snuck out to see what the pride lands had to offer, but he did care for them and he knew they didn't want him to get hurt or lost, so he stayed where he was. Nak's tail distracted him from his thoughts, and he lowered his head to the floor as he watched the star-dusted tuft dance in front of his eyes. His own tail lifted as he slid to get his hind legs under him, bottom wiggling just a bit before he pounced. He caught the end of Nak's tail, grinning triumphantly before starting to chew on it.

He twitched when he felt teeny tiny fangs poking at his tail, only to see his brother chewing on it. Struggling a bit, he flicked it out of his brother's grasp and watched him, looking at his tail in return yet he wasn't going on cub impulses to go for it. Flicking it from one end to the other, he got on his paws and began walking around slightly, have his tail drag below him to make his brother follow around and play, like his tail was a cat toy.

A tiny, adorable growl left Cetus' mouth as his brother tugged his tail away, but soon he was chasing it across the den. He stumbled a bit in the sand but didn't give up, laughing as he pounced and caught the starry fur between his paws. "Gotcha!" he said happily, tugging on Nak's tail with his paws. As he tugged, though, his stomach gave a loud rumble and he plopped down, the 'toy' forgotten. He looked longingly to the mouth of the den and sighed just a little bit. "I wish they'd come back soon...I'm getting hungry! Are you?" he asked, training his blue eyes on his brother. They were still dependent on their mother's milk for food, but Cetus was starting to grow curious about the food his parents ate. It was red and smelled weird, but they seemed to like it quite a bit. Maybe that's what he'd have to eat some day as well. He had licked at the red stuff coming from it and found it not nearly as nice as his mother's milk, but certainly not horrible.

When he felt a halt in his footing, he looked to see his brother ha his tail, though for a moment. When he mentioned food, he nodded lightly and pointed himself to the entrance of the home and began walking towards the only way in and out of their home. He was going to take the risk, the chance, to go outside and get something for them. Only he set foot outside, his interests were quickly piqued by everything as he began going towards the water. There, a wind was blowing from with the smell of salt, along with the scent of their parents, so he was going to do his best to find them. Taking a while, he thought they could have been there and began walking on the shore, tail swaying upward as he took each wobbly step.

Cetus tilted his head slightly as his brother headed towards the mouth of the den. It took a few moments to sink in, but finally he remembered his parent's warning and stumbled after the other dark male. "Nak...hey, Nak! Mom and dad said to wait and not to go out...side..." His words trailed off as he stared at the lush, gorgeous world outside their den. Whoa...this pace was awesome! He was used to the sand beneath his paws, but everything else was new. The bright, warm sun, the smells, the sounds, the sights...it was fantastic! He turned in a very slow circle, trying to drink it all in, but froze as he spotted something big and blue and very fantastic looking. It sparkled in the sun and rose and fell, lapping at the beach and running back to join the larger part of it. Was that the ocean? His parents had told him about it before, but he never thought it would be that....big.... "Whoa," he whispered quietly, frozen to the spot, staring at the sea. "That...that's the ocean!"
