Mi'ca snuck quietly through the jungles, though it couldn't be so quiet as Turoth circled above him. Mi'ca was looking for a new ground. Their old shelter had collapsed after they were attacked by a feline. Both of them were fine, but now they needed a new home and Mi'ca was the one who had to look.

It had to be somewhere where Turoth could duck under the trees and somewhere closer to water. Mi'ca sighed and rested against a fallen log. 'Do you see anything?' He asked his dragon, with Turoth above the trees, he could be seen by anyone, and he could see as far as the river. 'Nothing. It's all dense. There is a clearing up ahead. Go there and i'll pick you up.' The black dragon replied.

'No we need to keep moving on foot so I know how far we are from the old shelter and hunting grounds.' Mi'ca sighed again. 'You sure you don't see anything?'

Like almost every day, Iachixth and Natai traveled. In the mornings they started a fire, Natai took a few moments to herself, and they wandered off for a few candlemarks with a lunch bag packed. S'dekai and Pioth presumably stayed behind; both pairs woke early but she left him at camp. If he wandered himself during those candlemarks, she had not a clue, and Natai didn't try to worry about it.

That day they strayed to the edge of the jungle quite a distance from her little camp, far enough they had to between in order to get there. They found it the first time by flying about for several days, Natai marking at her maps when they were on foot and trekking. She had her map now, her side bag swinging as the two of them walked. Iachixth kept a bit away, frolicking as she was wont to do, exploring, but they didn't venture into the actual jungle itself. Too dangerous and Natai unarmed, Iachixth unable to squeeze in meant she didn't dare. She did dare to walk with the little notebook of edible plants open in her hand, charcoal in the other to try and find the proper ones. She would pick them when she found them... as long as she stayed on her chosen path not in the jungle. Despite her red shirt and dark orange skirt, Natai did not relish of being eaten by wolves - or rather, felines. Wild whers. Anything.

"Are you having fun, darling?"

Always~ chirped Iachixth. One day we will bring Pioth and S'dekai and we will have a picnic.

"Our life is a picnic, Iachixth."

A picnic of adventure.

'You asked me that only a second ago, what could possibly...' Turoth's voice faded and Mi'ca felt more than saw the black dragon ducking down quickly to rest in the tree tops. Hiding.

'There is a queen dragon.' The dragon said as he lifted his head above the trees enough to see the dragon. 'It's not very big, she's got a rider though. No colors I can see...' Mi'ca stayed where he was, looking around for any dangers as he listened to Turoth's description. He had had to rely on his black dragon for almost a year now... Atleast Mi'ca thought it had been a year. Turoth didn't remember, so maybe it had only been a few weeks?

'What else do you see?' Mi'ca asked as he pulled out his knife. If they were from Malvren, maybe they were friendly? Or maybe they were part of the revolution? What if they were from Trine? Did they survive the attack too? But if they were hunting Mi'ca, they wouldn't risk a queen would they?

'The Queen isn't in the jungle, neither is the rider, but I can't see her anymore.'

'Keep a look out.' Mi'ca said as he started to trek again, they needed to find out who these people were then get the shells out of there.

And with his knife in his hand, he slipped to the edge of the jungle and hid behind a tree, catching the first sight of Natai.

Iachixth craned her head up at the intense rustles of some trees. She thought not much of it; wherries maybe. The other beasts she knew of were much too large to be in trees, those silly things, and despite her curiosity to know all the things, she knew not to test Natai by squishing into jungles much too small for her. Though slim for a gold, she still reached the average length and happened to be a gold, the color to dwarf all other colors.

I think we are being watched by some animals, Natai! Iachixth sounded utterly delighted, though she didn't stop her constant movement, peering to the side, the sky, the jungle. I hear rustles and quiet.

"It can't be both," Natai murmured, stooping to a crouch to peer at some awkward looking plant with red flowers and small blue thorns the length of her pinkie nail. "Are you playing a game again?"

No, no, there's - there's rustle rustle rustle but there's no animals making noise so maybe I will get a wher dinner. I am hungry. Iachixth considered that for a moment, licking her muzzle. I am still the best bug.

The black snuck closer, even though he was average size and the trees dense, he had practice and crawled through them like a lizard, keeping his wings tight to his body and peering at the Gold from the tree tops. 'This gold is funny... She keeps looking for me.' Turoth said in a strange curious tone, his eyes whirling with some excitement and more nervous ness. 'Did you find the rider?'

Mi'ca did see the rider, she was very young, too young to have been out by herself especially with a Queen dragon. Were they from Trine? It was so far away, she should have an escort or something, especially if thread fell just then. He kneeled to the ground as he watched her reach out to look at a plant. 'She's looking at a plant.' Mi'ca said back. 'Don't let the Queen find you. I don't know if they're friendly or not.' He was surprised by the dragon's words, Turoth didn't find most things funny. Though maybe he was calling her strange. Turoth did think most dragons were strange.

Uh oh... Mi'ca noticed the girl hovering over the plant, he hoped she didn't touch it. He found out the hard way that plant gave you the worst stomach ache if you ate it. And the thorns really hurt and your finger could turn brown for a while...He slowly put his knife away and as quietly as he could. He was still hidden by several bushes and his clothes were black so he was quiet easily hidden for that moment.

Maybe he should approach her? Mi'ca desperately missed being with people. He was never a talker, but he missed hearing people talk and laugh and being with his family and friends and hearing stories. He wanted to sigh, but he had to be quiet and watch.

Are those good flowers? Iachixth slunk closer and bowed her head to peer over Natai's shoulder with one large eye. It's pretty.

"It is pretty," Natai agreed. She thumbed at her book and pointed. "See? It's right here. The stems and petals are edible and the thorns can be made into tea but it can sometimes cause severe allergic reactions. I've seen Manaan handle them before, I knew they were familiar. I'm not allergic to them but I think Nana was. Best not to risk S'dekai." She stood and stretched out slowly, muffling a small yawn with her hand. One slim hand patted at Iachixth's hide, the goldrider smiling up at her. "Scoot down for me, Iachixth. We should head home. Let's call it an early day."

Okay! Iachixth flopped onto the ground and Natai climbed up on her harness, swinging her legs into place. She preferred skirts, always did but some, like this one, worked best when she clipped them into pants. It made flying easier. I like Pioth.

"I like Pioth too. He's very nice," Natai rubbed at her eyes. "Come on, love. Let's go home."

'They're leaving!' Turoth called out, his head bobbing and making the trees shake as he tried to get a better look.

'Stop moving!' he called out seeing the trees really starting to shake and leaves come raining down. He had been listening and they didn't seem so bad. Maybe they weren't revolutionists? Maybe he won't be in danger if he called out to them? Or... He suddenly grinned as he quickly began to climb up into the tree, remaining unseen for the most part. 'Let's follow them!' He said as he found Turoth in the tree and climbed into his saddle. It was so old and worn, it needed oil and so did Turoth. 'I want to follow them, but we don't know where they're going...' Mi'ca frowned and leaned his head down over the saddle so he could see thorugh the leaves. 'Should we just call out to them? See what happens?'

'They might attack us. The queen is bigger than me.' Came Turoth's reply. 'But Its the first dragon we've seen since home. Maybe we should try?'
Turoth shook his head, rattling more leaves.

It had been an effort, much more than he had expected. Having set out however he wasn't going back to Trine without seeing her, it had been far too long. Luckily this was one of the (many thank you so much!) times that being the 'crazy flitt man' paid off. His firelizards knew wild faires all around Natai's home camp now and some of her favourite haunts too. They ingratiated themselves where needed with gifts of food and got information in return. Today they were asking 'have you seen the big gold?'

A small faire of seven that looked up to a green mother and her two blue mates had indeed, and they were happy to share this with friendly but unthreatening green Vena. The clever little flitt made the final jump, spotted Natai, and passed the image back to Berath at the base camp. The fact that in a few moments the gold and her rider would be back there was not known to the firelizard and thus was not passed on, and thus again a moment later the huge block of green muscle and scars appeared in the sky above Iachixth and Natai.

Berath exclaimed with a bugle, her voice broadcasting on general dragon channels; she didn't expect anyone else to be around. she added as an afterthought.

Bereck grimaced slightly as the cold of between vanished; it was worse than before the fiasco at Natai's hold but not as bad as when he had first been flying again after the revolution. The aches would improve once he was fitter again; it was frustrating for now but he would survive.

Turoth's head poked through some leaves to see the green. He heard her words and he felt Mi'ca's feelings of curiousity and his want to meet these other dragon riders. Even if he didn't like to be around other draongs for long, he wanted to see these two. It had been a long time since he had seen other dragons up close and the black dragon's curiousity was starting to get the better of him.

'Don't move.' Mi'ca said in a cautious tone. The other dragon was a green he could see and from his place in the saddle, he watched as she circled them. Mi'ca still wanted to meet them, but two now instead of one? Would it be safe for him or Turoth? He wasn't sure what to do now.
