Almost every second, new images flashed Kale's mind. Astaria was slowly awakening within her, but Kale was determined tonight to not let the beast out. She needed to store her for use during the games. She thought Astaira's ability of flight would be very useful for the team, for she would not get lost within the forests, and could have greater abilities of sight and smell and hearing. Then again, she couldn't wait to change into the blood thirsty animal. An unfortunate occurrence for the first flesh she runs upon, usually. It will take all of Kale's might to not feast on a being of another team. She wasn't worried; She could count on the forest to bring meat. She wondered if Aoi had ever tasted flesh before. Such a raw, riveting feeling after the hunt. One can bathe in their glory, taste their kill's fate. What wonder.

Then Aoi spoke. Saying that it was a shroud of blood that protects her at it's own will. How could she have been more wrong? It showed Kale exactly how little she really knows about the dark arts. She left it to her master Lucien to piece her back together once she had fallen. Her wing had been severed in the process, and Lucien severed the other, and brought her back to life by tainting Astaria with Black Magic to form new wings from the stubs left on her back. Other than this dark art, she hadn't been able to research much on other forms. It will be interesting to run into so many different levels of arts. Still, Kale felt embarrassed, that she even let those questions spill out. She wasn't supposed to have said them in the first place. Aoi was so cool. Even with her next comment. She certainly wasn't the first to say Kale talked fast. Her father had always said she talked like an annoying crow. It just reminded her that yes, she is Roc not human like so many would mistake her for.
"Yeah, I talk fast, think faster, react quicker." She said and laughed mischievously. She wasn't sure exactly what abilities that shroud of blood would enable Aoi, but Kale was excited to find out "What do you suppose is the best line of attack? Do we all split up? Or go for the objects in our territory first? Or go for our objects in others territory first? And I wonder who else is on our team" Kale guessed it wasn't really possible for her to slow down. The sort of speed pumping in her bloodstream, the adrenaline makes her more alert, more ready, always prepared for anything. She just wanted the games to start already!

"Of which do you enjoy better? The taste of flesh....or the taste of bone?"

Abilities: For Hallucinations: 2-5 is slightly unrealistic and weak (from 1min-5min), 6-10 is a short but very realistic hallucination(15 mins to an hour), 11-12 is a long (2 to 3 hours)and very realistic hallucination.
For Bad Luck: 2-5 will miss the target but cause damage to nearby area to get in their way, or fall upon them. Weak power. 6-10 is a much more powerful attack, causing something unfortunate to happen, like the sword slip out of the target's hand. It still might miss the target & destroy the nearby area. 11-12 Is the strongest and most accurate blow. It could cause a snake to bite the intended victim, or begin to strangle them.

*The victim has a large play in this as my power affects everyone differently.

Mood: Enjoying himself and his company
Doing: Sitting at the table with Bryn

Nicklaus nodded his head as Bryn made her observation. No shadow and glowing. So his suspicions were confirmed, it was her. It was quite a long time ago, but he remembered everything about that day when he saw her... When he ran into her.

He was passing through the elf kingdom, and it was during some of its darkest days. The was so sunny, yet it still seemed so dark. Niklaus was wondering through town trying to find the client that had hired him in the first place, but was having a bit of trouble. As he was walking though the town, red hair caught his attention. Turning to a woman next to him, "Excuse me ma'am, but who is that?" the scoffed as he asked her and looked to where his eyes were. "THAT would be Azrael, the false prophet that walks with the red hair. She claims to be touched by a god that gave her a 'gift.' Load of bologna if you ask me. The god that touched is one of tyranny, and harsh unforgiving ambition. Basically we call him the god of extermination. She's the reason for the dark days." Without another word, the woman walked off before the girl could come any closer. Wow, the ignorance of the people in this town was baffling. He watched as the girl continued to walk down the path, they were moving out of her way, avoiding her. It looked all she wanted to do was buy some food and they were completely ignoring her.

Before the merchant next to him had the chance to no away, he asked for some fruit and vegetables. The man gave him the bag and looked at him suspiciously and scurried off when he saw the girl was getting closer. As she grew closer he could see that her face was pained and irritated because of how those around her were acting. "Excuse me ma'am, these are for you." He handed her the bag and watched as face lightened up. "Your welcome." A faint smile spread on his face as he looked at her. He then motioned her to follow him and walked to the house that he was renting while he stayed in the kingdom. When they entered the home, the sweet aroma of stew filled his nostrils and be grabbed a large bowl. After filling it with stew, he handed it to Azrael. "Take this to you family Azrael. Tell then its from a man named Klaus."

The memory has flashed before him without warning. Wow, what an old memory. It was somewhat of a sad memory, but also a happy one as well. Niklaus watched as Azrael sat down next to the man at the table, wondering she noticed him yet. If she moved her head just a little to the left, he'd be in her full frontal view. His eyes wondered the to the other side of the table where the shadow demon was sitting, her eyes glaring at him. Rolling his eyes, he looked back to Bryn.

"Anyways, so tell me a little bit more about yourself. Obviously something you haven't told me yet. Any dirty little secrets you're trying to hide?" A smirk spread in on his face as humor and fun touched his eyes. When Bryn wasnt looking at him, he peered over to see if Azrael noticed him yet.

Team two: fighter.

Red like Roses fills my dreams and brings me to the place you rest...
White is cold and yearning, burdened by a royal test...

Aoi's opinion of Kale was rather quickly taking more of a negative turn the more she talked. While she could admire a curious personality, Kale's was... discomforting for some reason. Aoi just wasn't really the type to have friendly conversations, and usually the mentioning of her shroud's name turned away most people.

The questions stopped again and allowed her to answer, not that she really had one for what Kale asked. Still, she shrugged lightly and said, "I don't know... and I personally don't really care what strategy comes up. I just hope to find some wolves to fight..." A faint grin quirked her mouth for a second, but quickly faded back into the rather neutral expression she'd had before.

The wrapped object reacted with a glow as well, but she didn't shush it as quickly this time, allowing the glow to actually be noticed by Kale. She shushed it again regardless, treating it like it was somehow alive as well. Aoi tended to come off as just... creepy to most people, so a part of her found it odd that Kale hadn't walked away yet.

Nation/Race: Malandaia/Demon
Where: Ballroom
With: With Kairyn
OOC: Is it alright that I added a connection between the two?

Ian was still enjoying his red wine, he didn't know how many he'd had already. He had a good tolerance anyway, besides he was still perfectly able to dance, which he had proved a little while earlier. Some nymph had come up to him asking him to dance. A little innocent nymph of all species, he had obliged, after all, how could he say no to such an unspoiled female? It was always interesting to meet such pure beings, so naive and fragile. It made the demon inside him chuckle with delight, wanting to wrap them up in darkness. Ian however also had an angel on his shoulder, whispering soothing calming words in his ear, calming the shadows inside of him when necessary.

This angel was pretty small though. When exposed to certain situations the demon would easily push the white being aside, this was why Ian's personality was easily turned upside down and why Malandaia was such a good nation for him to be. All sorts of people gathered there, of many races and colors. Ian had always been content with his decision to leave Zeladis. And although some of his demon affiliates though of him as a traitor because he was now going to fight against them, he didn't think of it that way. Ever since he'd refused to plunge a soul into the darkness, the other demons had always looked at him with a mixture of confusion and none of them had tried to understand him. This was the reason why he didn't feel guilty, nor did he see this as revenge.

Ian ran a hand through his ponytail when he decided he'd thought about his past for too long already, his wine had warmed up and didn't taste as good anymore. His eyes went to the dance floor again, where he noticed a long female figure dancing with a guy he didn't recognize. The female however, he did recognize and a grin spread across his handsome face. He knew who it was even if she wore a mask and was all dressed up. He stopped a server and put his still half-full glass of wine on the plate.

Finally he'd found someone interesting enough to walk up to himself. He wondered what she'd done in the time when he wasn't there anymore. He knew Kairyn Farthou from his life back in Zeladis. She was a lot like him, but in the opposite way, she had turned to darkness, while he had turned to light. This was why he found her interesting and he'd always sought her, often pestering her since the Drakushan had been the only remedy against his boredom, until even she couldn't keep him in Zeladis anymore. Now he went over to her again, mingling with the dancing crowd. He sneaked up behind her and blew on her ear when he got close enough. With a grin he said,
''Good evening Rin, you still look as lovely as you used to.'' His red eyes studied her and concluded she hadn't changed much, only got more mature and feminine. Then he turned to the man she had been dancing with, ''may I steal her away from you?'' He asked with a playful smile.

Her back was facing the crowd when Devron spoke to the crowd. Slowly she turned her frame around to give her full attention. While holding a glass of wine in her small delicate hand. She sipped the wine, while her green eyes stared at the male figure. The rules of the games were being announced to everyone and instructions of how to win the game.Yet, at the moment she was not thinking of the game... In fact her eyes narrowed at Devron something about him caught her attention.. Or maybe it was just the wine that was already rushing through her blood stream...

Once he finished speaking, the room seemed to return to life and she was back enjoying her red wine. Enya’s eyes roamed to each player, watching how everyone was chatting away or dancing with each other.. She noticed her second in command was here and admired the woman dancing on the dance floor. She turned her eyes away before she studied her dance partner and noticed Azrael was among the crowd as well, she watched as Azreal sat with a few others at a able and found very interesting.. She knew of Azrael, but she never took the time to fully introduce herself with her team. What she did know was that not many were really comfortable around her. .

She could feel all the energy in the ballroom, mixed with dark and light. It felt as if the magic was dancing in a tango. Wild, intense, and luring and all she had to do was reach out with her own powers and bathe herself in such power. She inhaled sharply as she gulped more wine down her throat, drowning her dark soul…

Tomorrow she would play the game, follow the rules. Fight for her team and win! Maybe she could sneak around and steal a few years from some players... That wasn't really killing them. They were still breathing when she finished taking a year, or two...maybe three years from their life and using it for herself.

Kairyn was beginning to grow bored with her little demon companion. She continued to dance with him though. He had tripped on her gown twice now and was starting to wear on her patience. He sheepishly apologized and that only added to her growing ire toward the lad.

Before she had decided to dismiss him, she felt a little gust of cool breath on her ear. Whirling around quickly, she nearly hit him. She was a little on edge, as she should be, with all of these foreign people around. She was pleased to find that it was her old friend, Ian. It had been several years since she had seen him. He left of for Malandaia if she remembered correctly, which would account for the fact that he was here and not on her team.
”Ian. What a pleasant surprise.” She said with an almost genuine smile on her face. She was pleased but that darkness she fell to kept the warmth from her smile.

The man she was dancing with before stepped away and motioned for Ian to take his place. He walked away quickly, recognizing that there was more important business for her to attend to than dancing with a fellow player on her team.

Kairyn fell into step with the demon of team two. She had a few questions for him but she also wanted to keep them to herself. She wanted to keep things as professional as possible to avoid any confusion or difficulty later on. She was here to win the stone for Zeladis. That was all. And she wasn’t about to let it slip to another team because she had a friend on an opposing team.
Is he still a friend though? She thought for a moment. Friend was a dangerous word. Kairyn didn’t have many for that reason.

She couldn’t help it though. She wanted to know. She figured she could shake any feelings of good will when the time came. And she was sure the time would come when she would have to.
”You left rather abruptly, Ian. People said things of you.” She started. ”You left for Malandaia and now you have joined their ranks. Why?” She looked at him with a questioning gaze.

Downing the rest of her drink and getting another from a waiter she had waved over she swirled her finger around rim of the glass looking into the deeply colored liquid. He wanted a dirty secret, things that she was hiding. There wasn’t anything she was really hiding, if you asked she would tell it was actually quite simple. To be truthful she was very open about things but no one was courageous enough to hold a conversation with her. There was one thing she could tell him that was a secret though, looking up she smirked ”You posed a very difficult question, not for the fact I don’t have secrets but because I am a very open person. If you were to ask me anything I would tell you without hesitation but only if you asked. Don’t worry though I do have a nice secret for you…”

Bryn took another drink of brandy and watched as Niklaus eyes wandered over to the elf he had mentioned earlier, it seemed he must know her. Whether that was true or not it didn’t concern her, she had already pried unintentionally into a painful memory no need to do it again with another. Waiting until his eyes where back on her she smiled
”I use to be of a noble, one of those rich families with significant standing in society. That’s why I don’t have a last name; I abandoned it after I was exiled…” keeping her emotions under a tight lock she just keep on giving a soft smile, no need for him to worry.

Sure, Kale was asking question after question, but it wasn't because she really needed to know the answer. She already knew what the best line of attack was. Obviously, multiple attacks. Send players 2 at a time. Two groups to Ithus & two groups to Zeladis. Send 4 people to separate and find the items in our territory. Once complete, two go to catch up with the rest of the group as back up. The other two stay in the territory to attack people and defend the home base. Yes, Kale already knew, she asked these questions because she didn't know what else to say. She wasn't much of a strategist, but she felt there was more power in numbers of two. Especially with back up to help if things turn sour. Kale sure wondered who their team leader was, and prayed to Lucien that it wasn't some trigger happy dumb a**. She would not be too willing to listen to them.

Aoi had a great strategy, she just wanted to fight. And Kale picked up on the devilish grin that only appeared on her lips for a moment. Then something she hadn't noticed before now completely caught her attention. The baby that was swaddled in her arms radiated a glow and heat, until the girl hushed it up....? Kale hoped her eyes deceived her, but with the shroud of blood looming upon their every move, she knew it was true. Her eyes widened at the glow, then she looked to Aoi, the shroud, then out to the ballroom floor.

"Fair enough, I can't wait to ******** fight either. I have a sort of revenge to seek against Ithus" Kale thought about her father's face which had been the only remains of him after it was torn from his own body. In fact, it was the very skull she had laid upon her face. She counted it as a trophy. For overcoming her greatest inhibitor and her enslavement. That is why she wears it upon her face. "May I ask about what this is?" She said, gesturing to the wrapped weapon. Kale knew that it was probably better to just shut up by now, but it seemed to be impossible for her to put her curiosities aside. Whether they freaked her out or not. Because quite frankly, Aoi totally freaked her out, but somehow the fetish turned her on too.

Sigfreig wore a very nice attire to the ball that night. He was wearing a pair of the finest black dress pants that money could buy. His shirt was a dull red, and his tie was nonexistent. He really could care less about such formal occasions like these. He wasn’t put into this game of sorts just to fraternize and mingle with its contestants. No, He was put into this little game to win and win he will. His masquerade mask was mostly red with black around the eye. The mask only had one eye hole, so that his most prized eye would be hidden. Having his left eye covered would be considered an obstacle to most, but Sigfreig always had worn an eye patch.

Frige’ had removed all of his identifying jewelry well before even traveling to the ballroom. This was for two reasons only the scar on his right eye could give him away, but that were unlikely because all you could see through his mask was his eye. The mask he worn wasn’t all that ornate or decorative, but felt more like it belonged at a funereal then at a ballroom. His decision on this mask was simple, because it symbolized that not everyone will come out alive. Yes, the goddesses Rules clearly stated that no one was to do any killing, but he knew would be broken very quickly if the players had thought they had found a loop hole into the rule.

At Long last Frige’ had arrived at the Ballrooms set of gigantic double doors. He had stopped for a moment to gather his thoughts. After a moments pondering of exactly what he would find in the ballroom he finally drew in a breath, and pulled open both doors. The doors had glided open as if a large wind had willed them to do so. So effortlessly did those gigantic doors move apart. As soon as they had left the stairs with enough space for him to pass through then did he silently and effortlessly make his way towards the ballroom floor. He had watched as the many people were dancing, and chatting it up, ready to finally eye up the competition.
Lets begin his foots had lead him to a corner where he would finally find exactly who was on his team, and how well would they stack up to the competition.

-The crimson fog-

Team two: fighter.

Red like Roses fills my dreams and brings me to the place you rest...
White is cold and yearning, burdened by a royal test...

Aoi clutched the wrapped object tighter when Kale pointed it out, more out of reflex than deliberately trying to pull it away from her. Still, she didn't respond right away, her hooded gaze drifting to the floor as she thought about what to say. She couldn't hide the shroud, it was a part of her now, so she was less touchy about explaining it. The blade felt more... precious to her, it seemed like more of a gift she treasured above all else. Perhaps it was because the blade was more than just a way to keep the cold off, it had let her exact her revenge and would continue to let her take action.

She finally spoke again, saying, "It's... it's an important gift I was given a long time ago. You will see its true nature soon enough, but not now." She took a half-step back, as if to say she wouldn't let Kale probe the matter further. She was beginning to feel like she should leave the ball at this point. She'd heard the rules and honestly didn't feel like dancing, let alone knowing how to do so in the first place.

She backed away a bit further and said, "I... I should go... I don't like these kinds of settings... I don't like this many people in one room." She backed away again and the shroud seemed to spread and envelop her up to her shoulders, obscuring even the wrapped blade. She turned and seemed to glide down the hall away from the ballroom, looking like a streamer of crimson fog floating above the floor. She moved with relative speed, but not so fast as to potentially outrun Kale, should the other choose to follow her.

She grinned when he said he was glad that he surprised her. At the ball, Kairyn wasn’t expecting anyone to sneak up on her so she foolishly let her guard down.
Oh well. This doesn’t count.

Kairyn thought about moving to Malandaia once she became a dracushan but she doubted she would even be accepted there.
”Malandaia accepts nearly anyone.” And besides, she got a pretty great job in the Zeladis guard. ”But a good teacher is reason enough I suppose.”

When he said he kind of regretted the move, her eyes lit up. She might be able to convince him to come back after the games, if they both survived.
”You know that the king has laid out plans to share the success and promise of Zeladis with the rest of the world. Surely that would cure you of your boredom. He needs people like you to help him. We are going to bring about a new era of peace and prosperity. The stone will help us.” She knew that there was more to his plan than that though. This is how he displayed his plan though. She knew there would be much sacrifice and blood before this could be achieved.

”You could come back. I’m sure that once you do that people’s opinions will change.” Especially since he was one of the stronger demons in the nation. Even if people didn’t change, she was sure that few would challenge him. ”Anyway, we both have to get through the games first.” People died in the arena a lot. Even though the goddess disallowed killing players, they were often killed by the numerous predators in the arena and occasionally by the other players. There are ways of getting away with murder and most of them knew it.

”For both our sakes, I hope we do not cross paths in the next few weeks. It would be a shame to have to put duty before friendship.” Her expression grew solemn for a moment. She quickly pushed the thought away. She would surely figure out a way to avoid such an event. She could focus on team one rather than team two. But she might run into some old friends on team one as well. Suddenly Kairyn found herself pondering her potential effectiveness as second in command for Zeladis. Can I really do it? She knew the answer to that though. If she had to, she would turn off all emotion and let the darkness in her rear its head as she did years ago in the dungeons of Zeladis.

═━┈┈━═ Adapt or perish, now more than ever, is nature's inevitable imperative. ═━┈┈━═

Memori sighed wishing she knew more of her team, she didn't want to just walk up to random people and ask. Kale had approached her, not the other way around. And now she'd left to interrogate someone else it seemed. Perhaps she was more interesting, that and probably not from Ithius. She chuckled softly when he mentioned observation, "You too huh? I figure it might be prudent in the games. One may never know what could give you an advantage." she said thoughtfully. Her gaze wandered the room for a moment seeing a few people dance and others talk.

She wondered what it would be like to be whisked around the dance floor. Her eyes watched as two danced around and sighed. Then remembering where she was and what was happening tomorrow she really looked at them. Defeated by herself she gave Gavyn a small smile as she agreed with him about Kale.

How could she forget! Embarrassed she looked at him eyes bright, "I do apologize I thought I said my name when I sat. My name is Memori Anemoi and its a pleasure to meet you." she said giving him a apologetic smile. "It seems we will have to find the base too. That should be interesting..." with a small smile she stood and bowed once again. "Perhaps it will continue but I'd rather rest well tonight, it will be a long trek in the games tomorrow and I think it prudent to head to bed now." she said softly. Her eyes glanced around the room one last time and she turned back to Gayvn. "I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Rest well." and with that she left to the room she'd been given.

Her normal routine got her ready for bed quickly and before she knew it she was under the covers her mind racing with all she'd seen. Of what was going to happen tomorrow. Placing her arm over her eyes she attempted to get some sleep.

Mood: Enjoying himself and his company, starting to get sleepy
Doing: Sitting at the table with Bryn about to head to his room

Niklaus could see how she used to be a noble, the way she talked was proof enough that she used to be a noble. Her mannerisms and the way that she talked showed it. There was no reason for himself to ask her how or why she got exiled, and what her last night was. There were some things in peoples troubled past that were not worth bringing up or asking about. Why bring up the pain? Why bring up the memories that would cause a fowl mood to arise? He knew all to well himself that he wouldn't people asking him how his girlfriend died and what his brothers did to her. It was too painful to even talk about, let alone think about. "Don't worry Bryn, I shall not intrude on your personal history. I wish not to bring up any ill memories or feelings."

Niklaus suppressed a yawn but failed miserably. He looked outside through a window that was next to them, he could tell by looking outside that it was late... Very late. He didn't realize how late it was, in order for him to rested for the games he was going to have to go bed extremely soon. He stood from the his chair and looked down at Bryn with warmth in his eyes. "Well, dear Bryn, I do believe it is time for me to retreat back to my room. We must be prepared for the games." He bent down and leaned his mouth close to her ear. "Good luck, I'll see you in the arena." After he wished her luck, he softly kissed her cheek. "Goodnight."

With that being said, he walked away. He glanced his at the elf, a smile spread on his lips as he hoped that she would recognize him. Maybe he would find out tomorrow. After returning to his room before the big day, he laid on top of the bed and fell fast asleep.
