Character Basics Name: Theodore Hershey Graham Gender: Male Year: 1 House: Hufflepuff Blood Status: Mixed Birthday: 13 September Personality General: Teddy is a quiet, gentle boy, with a great love of the outdoors. He is intelligent and hard-working but also incredibly shy, and prefers the company of animals and plants, as he feels he can understand them better than any human. He prefers to avoid conflict and can get overwhelmed very easily, making him easy prey to bullies. Likes: He likes chocolate, but not candy. His favorite color is brown. He likes climbing trees and studying birds. He presses flowers and has a collection of pressed plant life in a thick book he keeps in a chest in his room. Dislikes: He hates being taken advantage of, even though he finds it hard to say 'no' to people. He doesn't like being called fat. He doesn't like Bertie Botts, as he ate one that tasted like a rotten egg. He hates watermelon, as he's allergic to it. Strengths: Teddy can tell at almost a glance how to identify most species of plant, both magical and muggle. He enjoys solitude and is good with animals. He can bake quite well and follow some of the most complicated of recipes. He would do absolutely anything for his little sister and brother. Weaknesses: He has very little mental or physical stamina, and when overwhelmed, resorts to crying. He is not vain, but is easily hurt when called 'fat'. He doesn't do as well in classes that are theory based, instead preferring hands-on types of classes. Habits: His mouth drops open at the slightest hint of emotion, whether he's scared, happy, upset, or sad. He cries easily when overwhelmed. When nervous, he flattens his eyebrows with his fingertips. Hobbies: He enjoys baking and cooking, especially desserts. He enjoys taking walks out on the grounds. He talks to animals and trees as though they were real people, giving them names and imagining them to have personalities. Miscellaneous Boggart: The boggart would turn into a giant version of the muggle boy Jenner George, complete with a flaming stick, which it would brandish at him while yelling the insult, "Marshmallow boy, marshmallow boy!" Mirror of Erised: His reflection would reveal Teddy in the kitchen, surrounded by his family, baking an assortment of delicious cakes and cookies for them, accompanied with steaming mugs of hot chocolate. Description Teddy is an average boy of about average height. He is 11 years old and 4' 8", which is a little on the short side, but not so short that he stands out. He is neither thin nor fat, but has never really developed much muscle and would probably be most easily described as 'soft'. He has soft, grey-brown eyes and light brown hair, and his skin is also soft and of medium brown complexion. Although he does not much like the heat, as it makes him feel as though he is about to melt, he does not easily burn and instead tans darker in the sunshine, which he is grateful for. Manner of Dress: Theodore likes wearing comfortable clothes that he can adjust to suit the weather. He's usually out-of-doors, and since it rains a lot where he lives, he usually wears long sleeves, a jumper, and cargo pants. The cargo pants are his favourite because he can store plants he discovers in their many pockets. The clothes he wears will usually be browns and greens and other colours found in nature. He also likes scarves and hats, especially those large beanies with the fluff balls and the earflaps that hang down.

History Theodore Hershey Graham was born in the wee hours of the morning on 13 September to Ambrose and Guinevere Graham. His mum made the decision to forego a job and instead stay at home to raise her family, and so he spent the first five years of his life a very secure only child, helping her in the kitchen and exploring the world around him. He grew up amongst the glories of the British countryside, at his family's home near the coast of Cornwall.
Teddy didn't always have the easiest time, socially. When he was four, he went with his mother to visit one of her good childhood friends, and he was teased mercilessly by her children (aged nine and ten) for being 'fat' and 'soft' and a 'cry-baby'. Poor Teddy, who hadn't had much experience with children his age and older, had cried bitterly at their teasing. When the boy, a ten-year-old muggle by the name of Jenner George, began poking him with a stick, calling him a 'ruddy, great marshmallow boy', Teddy's tears turned to fury and the stick seemed to animate itself, turning on the boy and hitting him over the head multiple times as he ran away shrieking. The muggle's memories were modified and Genevieve was left to explain to her boy that he must try to control his newly discovered magical abilities around muggles, as they weren't to know their secret.
His little sister Adelaide was born when he was five, and from the moment he set eyes on her, he absolutely adored her. From the start he was at mummy's side, helping feed, change, and wash his baby sister. He wanted to be her protector and her teacher and her best friend. This loyalty increased exponentially the next year when his brother Wally was born.
When Wally turned eleven, the cut off date for the school year had had already passed, and so he had to wait several more months for his letter. At last it did come, though, and with great trepidation (and excitement) Teddy was off to school.
Family Father: Ambrose Milton Graham, 37, mixed blood, former Hufflepuff, healer at St. Mungo's Mother: Guinevere Winifred Percevorous Graham, 34, muggleborn, former Ravenclaw, stay-at-home mum Sister: Adelaide Clementine Graham, 6 years old Brother: Wallace Archibald Graham, 5 years old Gran: Beatrice Hamilton Graham, 62, muggle-born, paternal grandmother, former Hufflepuff, retired naturalist and author Uncle: Godfrey Cornelius Graham, 40, paternal uncle, former Ravenclaw, works for a tiny company that has him studying unicorns Misc: All three of Teddy's remaining grandparents are muggles who are now deceased.
Relationships: Theodore is very close to his family, as they are a very tight-knit group. He is closest to his mum, as she is a stay-at-home parent. He adores his younger siblings Addy and Wally, even though they are so much younger than he is. He doesn't see too much of his father, but they are much alike in temperament. His grandmother is a very kind, warm person, and whenever she comes to visit, he knows he will have fun baking desserts with her for his younger siblings. He is also quite close to his Uncle Godfrey, who often sends him trinkets from being out and about studying unicorns.

Extra Credit The Sorting: Teddy was tired. For hours, he'd endured a terribly noisy, hot, dusty train ride, followed by a rickety boat ride over a dark, deep, really quite terrifying lake. Afterward, he'd been herded along with a group of children his age down a hallway and into a giant room filled with adults and children so much taller and older than he was.
He waited at the front, rather overwhelmed, as student after student was called to the front. As each one passed, he found himself growing more and more nervous. By the time the student before him was sorted, a girl with long, flowing black hair and piercing blue eyes, he was already holding back tears.
"Ravenclaw!" The hat yelled, and the girl scuttled off to her seat.
"Graham, Theodore!" the professor called.
Teddy swallowed, trying so hard not to cry as he walked up to the front. He sat down on the stool, his legs hanging down well above the ground. He let out a shuddering sob as the hat dropped over his head.
Calm down, young one... do not be afraid, said a voice in his ear. Teddy's mouth dropped open, and he choked on the moisture that had been building up in his mouth and nose from trying not to cry. After an intense bout of coughing, followed by several heaving, shuddering sobs, he had finally settled down enough to hear the hat whisper, Do not fear, for I know where you belong, and you will do just fine, in the long run.
Before he had had to process what the hat had said, it shouted its choice to the rest of hall, "HUFFLEPUFF!" Teddy grinned broadly as the hat was lifted off his head, wiped his nose on the sleeve of his cloak, and filled with relief and elation, ran off to join the rest of the Hufflepuffs.
Patronus: He doesn't have one yet, but if he ever masters it, it will be a Flemish Giant, which is a massive rabbit.
Greatest Treasure: His greatest treasure is his book of pressed plants and flowers, which he has carefully labelled and recorded.
Favorite Class: Herbology, followed very closely by Care of Magical Creatures. Potions is also up there too, because he finds it very similar to cooking, which is something her really enjoys.
Worst Class: Defense Against the Dark Arts, because he's really not very good at standing up for himself, physically or mentally.
