xxxAND SO... Kokoro was always just a regular girl at the ninja academy. She played with her friends after classes, she practiced to become a shinobi, and she had schoolgirl crushes. Well, she had one in particular. His name was Kyo. He was the only boy in Kokoro's class that really paid any attention to her. He said it was because she was so pretty. All the other boys were told that anyone from her clan would be bad news to hang around. Kyo didn't care and he reached out to be friends. Kokoro also had not yet awakened the abilities of her Bloodline. Nobody had yet experienced the reasons why
At age twelve, Kokoro and the rest of her class were promoted to become genin. Kokoro and Kyo were placed in a squad together because they both had a lot of potential as Bloodline specialists. Kyo had already awakened his abilities to use the Byakugan, but Kokoro had yet to awaken her own powers.Every day after training or after a mission, Kyo would meet with Kokoro and the two of them would practice together. They tried to get Kokoro to use the powers that her Bloodline offered, but they could never succeed.
The two had turned fourteen and the day came when they were both allowed to enter the chuunin exams, but Kokoro was not ready. She couldn't control her abilities and decided not to enter. The day before Kyo was ready to leave, Kokoro confessed her feelings for him. She asked him to stay with her until she could move on along with him. She was rejected horribly. Kyo said that he had hopes for the future and he wouldn't be able to reach his goals if he held himself back to be with someone who might never be able to awaken her true powers. Kokoro was destroyed by that. She fell to her knees, started to cry, and just wanted to die. Kyo tried to comfort her, but he grew colder as he got close to her. Everything began to grow colder. Kyo kept trying to comfort her, but soon things actually froze. The tears that feel from Kokoro's eyes froze before they hit the ground and shattered.
She had finally awakened her Bloodline and could become a great shinobi with this power, but at this moment, she was not capable of controlling anything. Things grew colder, began to freeze, and spikes began to rise from the ground and were made of ice. Kyo screamed, hoping to reach her and calm her down, but Kokoro was too far down. Kyo would stay, though. He wouldn't leave her side.
Kokoro woke up the next morning, the whole area covered in ice, spikes ruptured from the ground and destroying terrain. Kyo was frozen to Kokoro's body, his arms wrapped around her. Kokoro carried him to a hospital and got him medical treatment. He was in such critical condition that he had slipped into a comatose state. She stayed with him for months, but there was no improvement on his condition.
It was two years later when Kyo awoke. Kokoro had waited the entire time for him to wake up. Most nights, she slept by his side and she never took time to train. She had almost completely given up on becoming a shinobi. When he awoke, Kokoro was overwhelmed with happiness. Over the next month or so, Kyo underwent therapy to regain his abilities, but had failed. He would never be able to be a shinobi again after the trauma that Kokoro had caused his body. This depressed Kyo a lot. When Kokoro was told, she knew what she had to do. She confessed her love again to Kyo and told him that she'd quit the shinobi lifestyle entirely to be with him. She was rejected again. He told her that he could never love the person that took away his dreams and left him hopeless. He couldn't be with her and would never love her.
Kokoro changed after that moment. She began to train just to forget about her pain. She began hateful of other people. She wanted them to feel pain, too and she felt like she would have to give them that pain herself. She began to act fake around others and would pretend that she was happy. She would never be truly happy again after everything that happened. Pretty soon, she even found a way to create pain. She began to act lustful and would trick others into thinking she loved them. She'd break their hearts and leave them without hope or feeling. If she and Kyo couldn't be happy, nobody else could, either. 。
