Code Core Functionality

A Code Core is something that each and every Baiter has to be familiar with. The H.A.L.F Process that each Baiter goes through in order to become a member of the B.A.I.T.R involves the selection of a particular Code Core, as well as its creation. A Code Core can be created out of anything. It can be selected from a massive selection of pre-existing Code Cores that each and every branch of B.A.I.T.R has stored within their bases, or it can be an item brought to them by the user. If it is an item brought to them, they merely have to scan it through a N.I.C.E. machine (Non Invasive Circuit Enhancement). This will scan the object and systematically insert circuits into the matter itself, allowing it to conduct the energy that the A.I. Cores are created from, and to disperse that energy into the person who utilizes it.

After you are set up with a Code Core, you will then go through your testing to become a Baiter. The Code Core will be linked to your body, and the tester will insert an A.I. Core into it. Upon inserting the A.I. Core into the Code Core, the A.I. will attempt to seize control of the person it has been fused with. At this time, the person being tested will have to defeat the A.I. Core, or die. If the Core is defeated, you will master it and receive from it power greater than any man. Upon mastering an A.I. Core, and applying it to a Code Core, you will be able to choose one of two options for you Bonus:

1) Single Stat: You can gain a boost to one of your stats equal to 20% of the A.I. Core's same stat.
Example:
You choose to take the single stat bonus for Strength. Your Stat in Strength is currently 100. The A.I. Core you have mastered has a strength of 150. Your stat would now look like this:

100 [130]

So, due to the 20% bonus from the A.I. Core, your strength is now increased by 30. These bonuses will increase even more as your Code Cores are enhanced.

2) All Stat: You gain a bonus to all battle stats (Strength, Skill, and Defence) equal to 10% of the A.I. Core's stats.
Example:
You chose to take the All Stat bonus. Your stats are as follows:
Strength: 100
Skill: 80
Defense: 120

The A.I. Core has the following stats:
Strength: 140
Skill: 40
Defense: 100

Your stats, with your 10% bonus from the A.I. Core would be as follows:

Strength: 100 [114]
Skill: 80 [84]
Defense: 120 [130]

Code Core Tiers

There are different classes of Code Core, and as they go up in class, the benefits that they will give to their owners will increase greatly. The classes are as follows:

Standard: This is your very first Code Core. They are on the same level as the Code Core you receive when taking your test to become a Baiter. With a Trainee level Code Core, if you chose a single stat bonus it will be worth 20% of the A.I. Core's chosen stat. If you choose the all stat bonus, it will be worth 10% of each of their stats. When outside of combat, every time you post, you will recharge 10% of your max Health, rounded up.

Enhanced: Upon your first upgrade, the Code Core will be changed, and improved. When this happens, the bonuses on your stats will increase. The single stat bonus will be increased to 35%. The all stat bonus will be increased to 20%. When outside of combat, every time you post, you will recharge 20% of your maximum Health, rounded up.

Fine Tuned: Now that your Code Core has been upgraded twice, its power has grown immense. It will be altered once again, and improved upon. With a single stat bonus, your buff will be 60% of the A.I. Core's stat. With an all stat bonus, your bonuses will be equal to 30% of the A.I. Core's stats. When outside of combat, every time you post, you will recharge 50% of your maximum Health, rounded up.

Perfected: A Code Core of this caliber is not often seen. It is used only by the strongest of the Baiters, and allows the maximum potential to be utilized from the A.I. Cores you master. When a single stat bonus is used, you will gain access to 100% of the A.I. Core's stat. When all stat bonus is chosen, you will be granted a 50% bonus from all of the A.I. Core's stats. Your Code Core, at this point is constantly flooding your body with matter-enhancing energy that regenerates your body. When outside of combat, every time you post, you will recharge 100% of your maximum Health.

Gaining Access To Code Core Upgrades

The first step of understanding how to upgrade your Code Core is to understand the rankings within B.A.I.T.R.

Baiters are classified into 4 different groups, and these four different groups of operative have access to different levels of Code Core. To move up in the ranks of B.A.I.T.R, you have to meet certain requirements. These requirements are as such:

Trainee: This is where you start as a Baiter, and you will have access to Standard level Code Cores. You can do C rank missions, as well as have access to Danger Level 1 areas. You will have a single Code Core.

Baiter: To become a real Baiter, you must also have completed a total of 3 missions, and defeated at least 5 Cores. You will now have access to Enhanced Code Cores. This will now give you access to Danger Level 2 areas and B rank missions. You will now gain an additional Standard Level Code Core.

Lead Officer: You have become a leader among the B.A.I.T.R organization, and are respected by you peers. You must also have completed a total of 10 B rank missions, and defeated at least 50 A.I. Cores. You will now have access to Danger Level 3 areas, and A rank missions. You will also gain access to Fine Tuned Code Cores. You will gain an additional two Code Cores.

Coder: Becoming a Coder is the epitome of the B.A.I.T.R organization. A Coder is an operative who has demonstrated such incredible skill that it is as if they can manipulate the world around them and the A.I. they battle, "coding" everything they contact to their will. These operatives have achieved near god-like strength. You must have completed a total of 10 A Rank missions, as well as defeated at least 150 A.I. Cores. You will now have access to all areas on Earth, all mission difficulties, as well as Perfected Code Cores. You receive your last Code Core.

Upgrade Costs

Standard - Enhanced: To gain an Enhanced Code Core, you will have to go to B.A.I.T.R Headquarters and request an audience with a technician. The technician will analyze the Code Core's make-up as well as the A.I. Core within it. You will be sent on a mission by the technician to acquire the needed materials to enhance the Code Core. This mission will need to be at least 750 lines, and these lines can not be used to Update your character.
**You must achieve a B.A.I.T.R Standing of at least 150.**

Enhanced - Fine Tuned: To gain a Fine Tuned Code Core, you will, again, be required to go to B.A.I.T.R Headquarters and speak with a technician. After another analysis, the Technician will send you out into the world once more to collect a Kilo Core to enhance the Code Core. You must destroy and collect a Kilo Core, as well as spend 1500 lines to gain the Fine Tuned Core.
**You must have a B.A.I.T.R Standing of at least 250.**

Fine Tuned - Perfected: To perfect your Code Cores, it will take a lot of work. These Code Cores are the source of the strength that you wield, and each individual Core will need to be analyzed carefully and adjusted exactly right. The technician at the B.A.I.T.R Headquarters will need very specific materials in order to properly perfect your Code Core's design, and this time you will be sent out on a mission that must total 3000 lines. Two Kilo Level Code Cores will be needed to upgrade your Code Core.
**You must have a B.A.I.T.R Standing of at least 400.**

Summoning An A.I. Core From Your Code Core

Summoning your A.I. Core can be a risky gambit. There are multiple things that you have to look out for. The first thing you will have to ask yourself is "how many full Code Cores do I have?". This is because, if you summon an A.I. Core (maximum number summoned at one time is 3), and you are left with no A.I. Cores inside Code Cores, then you will enter a drained state. A.I. Cores are what fuels your enhanced body, and they become an integral part of what keeps you alive after the H.A.L.F process. Because of this, if all Code Cores are empty, you will begin to lose 10% of your maximum Health per turn.

The second thing you will have to ask yourself is "how much Health do I have". This is because, summoning an A.I. Core in the first place, requires you to sacrifice Health equal to 10% of that A.I. Core's maximum Health. This can be dangerous in a battle, but it also gives you the advantage of having an additional fighter on your side of the field.

When you summon an A.I. Core, and pay the cost to do so, the A.I. Core materializes its physical form, and you lose 50% of the stat bonuses that it would have been giving you. The A.I. Core itself will gain its tactical advantage upon being summoned, at whatever level you have it trained to, however, you will lose this tactical advantage as long as the A.I. Core has been summoned during this battle.
