The Espada
The Espada are regarded as the most powerful Shinigami-Hollow hybrids in the spiritual world. At any given time, the Espada, like it's predecessor, has a nominal composition of ten members, all hand-picked and branded by Ulquiorra Cifer, their arrancar leader. At the time of the group's introduction, the Espada consisted of eight males and two females. Each Espada member is chosen for their superior combat ability, and then assigned a number from 0 to 9 (0 presumably being the strongest) that indicates their rank and relative power level, which is tattooed somewhere on their body.
The Espada are given free control over the lower, less complete arrancar in Hueco Mundo and may choose as many of them as they like to become their Fracción, just like with Aizen's Espada. Similar to the power gap between captains and lieutenants in the Gotei 13, the strength of the Espada far surpasses that of the average Fracción.
Their immense amount of power and leadership status among the ranks also grants each Espada the authority to exert command over most other hollows or arrancar within their territory. Unlike their former Gotei 13 comrades, there seems to be a sort of hierarchy among the Espada; a higher-ranked member apparently can give orders to lower-ranked members. Various missions usually involve one or more Espada operating together, with the most senior member exercising command over the others; typical, non-combat missions, such as searching for the zanpakuto Muramasa and gathering pre-invasion data in the Soul Society, and the human world, include a senior Espada and a lower-ranked one being sent out in pairs. While the lower-ranked members usually have little restraint in taking their own initiative (thus exceeding their orders), higher-ranked members usually stick to the mission, and are often the first to bail the others out of trouble, because, they wish to "prevent the Espada from losing one of their own". Like the Captains, Tier's Espada have limit releases and the top six Espada aren't allowed to release their Zanpakuto within Las Noches as it might damage a part or the whole Las Noches itself.

Primera Espada
The First Espada is the head of the Espada, normally known as the King of Hollows. They outrank all the other Espada and are known to be on the level as the Head Captain of the Soul Society.

Second in command of the Espada, the Second Espada has been known to rather ruthless and chaotic. They tend to never step foot in the World of the Living or Soul Society unless it’s necessary. They don’t hang around other Espada unless it’s necessary as well.

The Third Espada works as the personal body guard to the First Espada, this Espada treats their life as the second life of the First and will gladly do anything they ask without any questions. At least that’s how it’s been in the past.

The Fourth Espada is a mystery in terms to what they do within the Espada but they tend to be the gate keeper and work as the last line of defense as the Fourth Espada tends to have hidden powers and talent that others can’t even dream of having.

The Fifth Espada specializes in close quarters combat, they tend to have extremely tough skin, and in previous generations have held the title as the strongest of all Espada in terms of their skin.

The Sixth Espada is known for their killing lust and their drive for battle. They tend to be known for commanding the non-numbered Arrancar and Hollows for battles and works as the frontline troops or as assassins.

The Seventh Espada is known to be the best Sonido user out of all the Espada. They hold this title to this date and have always been known for their extreme precision with footwork.

Known as the brains of the Espada, they work as if they were the Espada’s very own 12th Division. They are in charge of gaining new information through experimentation.

This position is usually held for an Espada who has uncontrollable power and extreme physical strength as well as Cero power. They tend to lack speed but makes up for it in raw power and fighting skill.
