Ocie sighed, looking up to the brilliant blue of the sky above him. Somewhere on this isle, he apparently had family. It wouldn't bother him normally, but now.. He had a daughter that had a butterfly on her rump. The male had no idea where it could have come from. Twinkle says there weren't any butterfly cutie marks in her family. His mother and himself were barren of butterflies. Where could it have come from?
His red eyes closed for a moment, listening to the happy families on the beach. Maybe he was related to one of them. Seemed possible, his mother had no idea where he'd come from aside from one night she'd just realized there was a baby. It had really never bothered him before now. But he looked so different from her, it was enough for him to start to question now that he was a dad.
The sprite sat up, running a hand through his hair. It was almost time to head back. He'd need to go into the water soon to re-hydrate himself. It was easier to keep track of it now that he was trying to keep track of children. Something just made him linger though. Why? He couldn't honestly figure it out. Maybe it was the families on the beach.
Stretching, he decided to check it out.

It wasn't often these days one would find the pink-lightning fae and her daughter frolicking on the beaches of Tuatha'Ri Lake. The two fae tend to keep to their own little places in the Forest, where they felt safe. But Lucia's mother Dizzy insisted the Lake, the beach and all the land between was safe and ripe for the exploration. In fact, the Butterfly Fae insisted these two little homebodies get out more often and learn more of the island they called home.
Lucia would loathe to admit she was having fun. But splashing around in the surf and just letting loose with Shae, her daughter was relaxing and something the pair needed. The lake seemed to have some rejuvenation effects on Shae that made Lucia happy. The water fae splashed and dipped in the water, swimming with a vigor she didn't even know she had. This was admittedly her first trip to the lake that she could ever remember and it was like she was given new life.
She giggled and took pure delight in splashing and dunking her mother under the water. It was clear Lucia was not meant for the water, but Shae certainly was in her element.

Ocie opened his eyes, looking out across the waters. All over there were pae playing in the water. But there was one pair in particular that kept drawing his eye. Occasionally he'd catch a glimpse of pink, sometimes he'd see a very faint wing that looked really familiar. More often than anything, he could have sworn his mother was out there. But there was a major difference between this naiad and his mother. His mother wasn't pink.
He was almost going to ignore the similarities when he noticed the fae that the naiad was dunking. It was her face. Laughing and smiling, he couldn't tell for sure, but those eyes. They had the same eyes? How in the isle was that even possible? This female was a fae of all things!
But the naiad looked like the fae too. Something was going on here. He flitted up, dusting the sand off his bum and headed for the water. On second thought. it was probably going to look like he was freak and a stalker or something, but he had to know. Just who were these two women. At the very least, he could flirt with them and make sure he hadn't lost it by becoming a father and having a woman at the same time.
"Hello?" He called out rather tentatively. Ocie was fairly certain they wouldn't know anything, and he was positive they'd run screaming. Didn't hurt to try though.

Shae was too engrossed in some half-hearted attempt to keep her mother as drenched as possible to notice that they were approached by another.
Lucia on the other hand did notice, and while the male approached, she waved and gave a welcoming smile, and went to say hello, but not before Shae had successfully grabbed her feet from under the water and pulled her under.
Taking in a breath of water caused the fae to flail and choke, and she started kicking under the water, struggling to breathe.
It took a moment for Shae to realize that Lucia wasn't playing and she started to panic. "Mom!" she shouted and grabbed the pink fae, lifting her head above water. "Mom, oh gosh, oh gosh!" Guilt stabbed her heart and she prayed she didn't just drown her mother. She caught a glance of the approaching stranger and pleaded for him to help her get her mother to the shore. "I didn't mean to..." she uttered.

Ocie grinned, starting to laugh at the playful dunk. At least until the panic of the naiad set in. His eyes widened, that was her mother! Oh blessed waters that wasn't good. Ocie could only imagine what it would be like for a kid without their mother. He had reached the pair just as they resurfaced.
"We should be able to swim fast enough to get her to shore?" He offered, trying to wrap an arm around Lucia now that he was close. He wasn't very good at flight, but between a naiad and himself, they could make sure this fae was safe. Right? "Hurry!" He ushered, flapping his tail to start them towards the shore.

With the stranger's help, Shae managed to drag the flailing and drenched fae to the sandy shore. It wasn't a very far swim, but it felt like miles.
It was only a breath of water. Enough to cause panic, but not enough to lose consciousnesses or drown. But it sure felt like it was. Lucia landed on her hands and knees and was viciously coughing to get the water from her lungs. Exhausted and finally feeling like she can breathe again, she rolled and flopped on the wet sand. Panting, and holding her chest, she pushed a wet lock of hair from her face to look up into two faces looking down at her. Two very familiar faces, yet one she'd never met before.
My father's eyes....
Lucia was speechless and locked on the stranger's face.
Shae, still panicked and unsure what to do was flailing more than Lucia had, and when her mom seemed okay laying on the sand, she threw herself down on her chest and wept. "I'm sorry mom, I didn't mean to..."

Ocie was more worried about getting the choking fae to the shore than anything. He didn't know this fae, or even the naiad that she was with, but somehow they both seemed pretty darned familiar. But again, that didn't matter. He couldn't just let the pretty lady drown like that.
Once on shore, he looked between the two. The fae coughed, a lot. Okay, that was good. He was hovering, not really sure what to do. When she flopped back, he kept watching her. Ocie saw the shock cross her face. He couldn't pull his eyes away from hers.
"Who are you?" He asked, blunt. And the naiad lurched onto the fae. Without legs. Shouldn't she be changing to legs right now? He frowned, finally pulling his gaze away from this mystery fae. The naiad was just as interesting. She... Oh guardians, he just realized it. There was another pae like him. He fell on his bum, unable to think of how to operate his wings to keep him aloft.
"Who is she? What's going on here?" He panicked. Good guardians above and below, something huge was going on now.
