Because my long awaited holidays I booked in January are finally here! whee
And no this isn't another 'turn off my computer, phone and everything and hide in the darkness of my room for half a year' like most of my holidays are, this time I have money to burn and I went fancy and booked a train tour across Canada starting in my hometown, Montreal and going all the way to Vancouver baby!
Subsequently, this means I'll be gone for a month, whether this is great news, good news or bad news to everyone, this is fantastic news for me, as I've been waiting for this for more than half a year. I'm bringing a lot of books, AND a notebook in case I get bored in the prairie provinces and want to do an FE challenge with my mighty DS era games or something.
So with that, I wish you all a pleasant August and see you guys sometime in early September, in which I hope to have read a lot of books and broadened my horizons with money I COULD have spent on booze or something usual.

And I am BACK! Well, more or less, my train arrived in Montreal at 7am this morning, and I have yet to unpack or any of that stuff. Highlight being the part where the Toronto Union Station confused me, and I waited in line for an hour for the Via Rail train going to Niagara Falls, when in reality the train I needed to take was to Burlington, then Niagara Falls which was in an obscure corner in the basement. Oh unneeded GO Transit transfer, how I loved you so. At least I'll be ready for my next expedition to Toronto. My trip went well otherwise, I met lots of new and exciting people, shopped in Toronto and Vancouver like a madman, only passed out in the bar car once, and surprisingly only missed one train, which was in Toronto and came every 15 minutes anyway. Other than that, my favourite place I visited would probably be Jasper, BC. While I've been to BC on many occasions before, I have never been in the heart of the mountains, as I have always flown to Vancouver hitherto, thus only seeing the top of the mountains. The exciting part is my friend wants to see them this Winter, so I'm going again with her on my Winter Break to ski!
