DO NOT READ UNTIL YOU'VE READ THE MAP AND TOPIC REGULATIONS
If you have not read this topic, go now and read that before reading the guide. Thank You.

~Your character within The Book~

Knowing the setting of an rp is critical when it comes to rping your character. In this world, it can become confusing yet it can also become fun. You have to know where is what and how to get there. This guide will go over traveling and a description of each kingdom. Please read each post accordingly and when it comes to "traveling" from kingdom to kingdom please follow the rules I've set that goes with that.

But, first. Your Character.

Before you start reading the guide please consider who your character is and how it fits into the rp. The guide may or may not change depending upon each character. The descriptions of each kingdom might change in the future depending what has happened in the rp and you may or may not be affected. As you read the descriptions of each kingdom, also consider which Kingdom you would like your character to live in and where. The Map and Topic Regulations will tell you what is in each kingdom and how to post your topic of your character's home. As for travel, the rules stated may or may not affect your character as well. Depending on their background, they may travel differently. For example, if the character is rich they will not be walking place to place and may be escorted place to place via carriage. Keep in mind that the entire setting is mostly medieval but if your character is futuristic please let me know in advance so that I may change a kingdom accordingly to fit your character. (Note: I won't change all the kingdoms willy nilly if you are not an active rper within the guild, you must be active before I do anything of the sort)

Any questions/suggestions/complaints go here. Please do not ask those questions if you haven't finished reading the guide first, though. The answer may already be in the guide. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the guide.

The Kingdoms within The Book are Separate
"Oh, really? Huh? Why?"

All eight areas are SEPARATE! They are NOT connected! You CAN NOT walk to kingdom to kingdom because they ARE NOT CONNECTED. This is a book, so the stories that tell of each area are only stories...therefore, none of them connect.

I really want to emphasize that they are not connected, which is why this is the first part of the guide. Why, and how is explained through out this post. If you can simply accept that they are separate, then continue to the next part of this post. (aka skip to Traveling to Each Kingdom)

Most of you have read the intro to the guild, so you know that the "Main Rp" is based off a book. As you explore the guild, you begin to understand that the "Main Rp" includes three books, not just one. How many of you have read a book? Most of you, probably. There are all sorts of different books out there in the world.. and each one narrates differently.

Within two of our books, Volume II of A Fairytale Untold & The Untold Fairytale, we have eight different areas. Six of them being kingdoms, and the other two being different dimensions for different things. As some may have noticed, the two books are exactly alike..but different. Yet, what they do both have in common is this: they are both narrated the same...

Have you ever read a fairytale? There are several through out the world, but let me point some out for example. Let's say, Red Riding Hood. We all know that one, yes? It's about a young girl who goes to her grandma's, and meets a wolf instead that is disguised as her grandma. There are many different forms of the tale, but you get the general idea. ....Now, ask yourself, did it ever occur to you the name of the forest she walked in? Where exactly was her grandma? She lived on a hill, but what hill?

This is exactly what I had in mind when I created The Untold Fairytale, and A Fairytale Untold. The whole setting of the guild is this young mutant who read fairytales so much, he wished to create his own world filled with them. Later on, he brought his world to life. Then, created a copy of that world which formed into The Untold Fairytale.

The book is written in order, my friends! First, it talks of the Author, then the Main Kingdom. The next kingdom, which is described in the next few chapters, is the Second Kingdom. That's why many of the Kingdoms are listed through numbers, because that is their place in the book in order. A few already have names, but still!

These kingdoms are separate, because they're separate sections of the book describing their part in the world. The book, itself, is one world... but they're not connected.

However, the Author... has connected them through the Main Kingdom. More info on this later on. But, first, how does one travel between the kingdoms?

~Traveling to Each Kingdom~

There are many different ways to travel to each Kingdom. What way you choose for your character may differ to what someone else would choose. Let's start listing the different ways, shall we?

- Magic

When it comes to traveling to each kingdom/area, your character may use magic. A spell of teleportation, or a temporary portal, or just a magic circle that can send people to a location.

This is for all the characters that have magic. It's mentioned in the profile topics how magic comes into the roleplay, but I'll go ahead and sum it up.

Magic comes in many different forms. There are spells that are cast through incantations, where you say certain words or phrases. Spells that are created through potions, and used in such a way where the potions affect others. Or, some spells may be drawn through magic circles or other marks that represent them. Magic users may prefer a wand or a staff, or perhaps another object to be the source of their power. Or, there are those where magic comes natural to them and they need only their mind to activate their powers. You may choose what kind of magic your character uses or was exposed to, so have fun and be creative with it.

- The Usafiri

They're a group of people entrusted with ancient magic of transportation. They help many travelers by teleporting them place to place. There are a total of four of them, not including their leader. Their mentor helps them train at their base in the Main Kingdom. (Currently, they're accepting members, but they need to go through training)

- To summon a member of the Usafiri, one must simply draw their symbol. It doesn't matter how they draw it, or where. One can easily draw it in the dirt, or simply on parchment. If in dire circumstances, and one needs help because they're heavily wounded, they can draw it in blood.

- The Changing Forest

People must know about the Changing Forest in order to use it, and be sure to have a guide with you! For the Changing Forest is an enchanted forest that one can travel to easily.

In fact, to go to the forest...one must simply think of the forest itself and mist will appear. The mist will then take them, after once they walk through the mist, directly to the forest. The forest is very vast and has many, many paths. Each path will lead somewhere regardless which one you take. Travelers who do not know the way may accidentally travel the wrong path. Only one path does not teleport the traveler and that is the path to the local Inn. The other paths lead to the other kingdoms and if you take the correct path it will transport you to that kingdom.

More info about the Changing Forest is in the next post, but you really should only use this for travel if you have a guide with you, or if you know the paths by heart. You never want to have to take the wrong path, and end up in the middle of nowhere.

- The Main Kingdom and The Doors to the Main Kingdom

The Main Kingdom basically is the central kingdom where all characters may come together on special occasions or events or for simple plans of company. The Main kingdom is within its own dimension and can not be accessed to unless by use of magic. There are four doors of magic able to open a way to The Main Kingdom within all five other kingdoms. (Four doors each for each other kingdom) The location of those four doors are not specified! This is for the players, that way they can travel to the Main Kingdom just by saying they go to one of the doors within their kingdom. This helps people not have to go to the topic of that door, just to go to the topic for the Main Kingdom.

When using these doors, simply say your character travels to one of the doors to the Main Kingdom. This can be done anywhere, and the thought that there are four doors per kingdom helps that where ever your character is, they'll likely be by a door.

All four doors lead to the Main Kingdom, and in return.. the Main Kingdom has a place where all the doors lay. This is within a building called _______, and it's where all the doors are organized by kingdoms. And just so you know, you can use doors to the Main Kingdom to travel to a different kingdom.
(Ex: Your character is in the Fifth Kingdom, and wants to travel to Wonderland aka Fourth Kingdom. He/She takes a door to the Main Kingdom, meets with a few friends.. then, together all of you go through one of the Fourth Kingdom's doors. )

Also! Because you can easily post that your character travels through a door and is at the Main Kingdom... if you use a door within the Main Kingdom to travel to a different Kingdom, you can decide where it teleports your character.

(Ex2: You and some friends travel to Wonderland using one of the doors within the Main Kingdom, all of you already decided to meet at the Rabbit's Hole. So, all of your characters teleport there)

The Kingdoms within The Book!

As you already know, there are five kingdoms not including the Main Kingdom.

(Four doors each for each other kingdom) However, for those unable to access the doors or use magic of their own travel the dangerous path of The Changing Forest.

To travel through The Changing Forest one must simply focus on it in one's mind, mist shall shroud them, and they are brought to the forest. Those who do not know their way through the enchanted forest will be 'changed' into a different locaton.
EX--I forgot which turn to take, and I knew that I took the wrong turn as suddenly I'm nowhere near The Main Kingdom nor my homeland.

The six kingdoms have no actual names...(they are not named within The Book, but a few are already named) and so are named by number. The Second Kingdom, the Third Kingdom, Fourth Kingdom, and so on. The Fourth Kingdom is actually based off of Wonderland and so its called Wonderland. The "Main Kingdom" is called the Main Kingdom because it's a kingdom that is mainly for the all the characters and for the Owner of The Book. This will be explained later on.

[Players may pm a name if they wish to name the Kingdom. I may, or may not, accept this name depending on if I like it. Though, each kingdom will remain the same and the name will be their second name]
(Note- players may only name the kingdoms that their characters live in)

However, not all areas within the world are "Kingdoms". There's the Changing Forest and the Forbidden Keep of the Undead.

Let's introduce the Kingdoms, shall we?

The Changing Forest is an enchanted forest that has no real location.

The other area is the
Forbidden Keep of the Undead. There are ONLY two ways to travel there. The Seven Sins are aware of how to travel there, or you may travel by a legenary boat said to be able to travel to the keep. Those are the only two ways! If your character dies, they are sent here and can not return to the living unless someone comes and brings them back to the living. This can be done, and I bet will be rather fun for the players wink

But, again.. those are the only two ways to travel to the Forbidden Keep Of The Undead. Right now, since the guild is just starting.. we have no one currently in the Forbidden Keep Of The Undead (FKU for short). If any characters die, they'll go there. But, this all depends if someone brings that character back to life maybe through magic, or through physical help like CPR. Just depends on the situation, really.

The
Main Kingdom. A lot is already foretold about this kingdom, so I won't repeat myself. As you already also know, this Main KIngdom was created by the Author. If you have read the plot to this rp, you would know how and why. But, the strangest part of the tale in how.. is what I shall tell you. For you see, back when the Author realized his powers within the book, so too did the book. Although the book holds all the kingdom, it has no true mind. Yet, it does act on its own just like a living creature would. In fact, the Author orginally created the Main Kingdom as one of the last chapters of the book.... but, strangely that entire chapter moved to the beginning of the book. Not only that, the book isn't finished. More on this within the plot wink

The Main Kingdom has many different things for all the travelers that go through here. The kingdom was built for all kingdoms to come together, and unite as allies and/or enemies*
1. There's a large castle which is one of the biggest castles within the whole book. It's almost endless, one may say. There are rooms from within for each and every royal member of a royal family, and rooms for all the royal workers. Plus, there are rooms for guest, and rooms for the "Owner of The Book"*2. There are three different inns for those who would want to stay the night. Two different dining halls that are open either during the day or night. There are also many households for all those that want to live there. Plus, among those households is the Author's home.

There's also an archery, and an area where tournaments are held. Along with a long garden for those that wish to see many fine plants and herbs. And, who knows what else will go into this kingdom?*
3

The Second Kingdom. has one of the biggest forests within the book. It's the one that seems almost endless or neverending, but only seems so to those that are lost. There are mountains, and two large caves. All three domains may hold homes for characters, or perhaps homelands for other characters. A castle stands within the kingdom, a royal family leading its people. A village lies along the castle's borders, and many villagers live regularly day to day.

For the
Third Kingdom, there are two different castles. Each castle holds a different royal family, and how it came to be so are up the players of those characters. One castle is older than the other, as the other is just a brand new castle. Again, how it came to be so are up to the players. There are many different areas in this kingdom, including: a swamp, a cave, and two forests with one including a lake. Plus two different mountains, and one grand arena. A few homes have already been established there as well.

Fourth Kingdom is all in all, Wonderland. This is a different kind of Wonderland, however. It has a more unique approach. The entrance to the world is through the Rabbit Hole, as everyone knows... but there just so happens to be a bar near that rabbit hole named after it. There they serve magical drinks with magical effects, plus food served inside eggs. Quite curious, wouldn't you say? But, that's not all. There's: the Mad Forest, the Mad Tower, and a place where all the flowers and plants live. The Mad Tower is a strange place where a cursed melody makes you completely mad, and within the Mad Forest you become so lost that you also become mad. Plus there's two different castles within the kingdom, and with each one comes an excellent garden made by the royal queen herself. The castles hold two different royal families, and we all know that the entire land is mad. So, watch your step!

The
Fifth Kingdom is one of the different kingdoms of the bunch. It's been named Sincinnati after a certain seven. I'm referring to: The Seven Sins*4. The Seven Sins live within this kingdom, either together or separate. This is for the players of those characters to decide. There are a total of four villages, and an arena. There's a village by the arena, a village out on a lake, and a village within a forest. Along with a village that's actually abandoned and filled with ghost. There's also a forest that disappears, and a lake out in the open. A wishing well stands from within the kingdom, and grants one free wish to everyone yet warns of its price.

The
Sixth Kingdom has, strangely, two ruins of two castles. Yet, also a castle of its own. That castle holds a royal family which rules the kingdom. A large village surrounds that castle, and follows the laws of that kingdom. However, not everyone follows the laws. This kingdom has the great ol' blue, the ocean/sea! Its filled with pirate ships, and pirate hideouts. The villages that live by it actually run with the pirates on a daily basis. Yet, there are other areas of the kingdom as well.

There's a big mansion up on the hill, which hasn't been claimed yet. A village lies below that mansion, and look to the owner of that mansion their local noble. There's a nearby forest that is by the mansion, and it goes all the way to the Sixth Kingdom's Castle's borders.

*1(However, there are certain laws from within its borders.. enemies and allies alike are able to be themselves. Its only during events can they not battle, and that is for a special occasion.)
*2("The Owner of The Book" can be looked down upon, or looked up to. Many believe in the Author, so many support the owner of The Book. The owner of the book, for those who are not aware of it by now, owns The Book. This puts everyone's lives in their hands! If anything were to happen to the book, so too would it happen in their world. And, it was later discovered that the book gave freedom to the owner. The owner able to travel to the world within the book, and bring any friends they might. It was the Author that created part of the castle to help house the owner and their friends so that they may have somewhere to stay. For time travels differently in the Book, than real life.)
*3(As the guild grows, many different places may develop in all the kingdoms. Not only the Main Kingdom, but other kingdoms may change over time.)
*4(The Seven Sins are: Pride, Sloth, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, and Wrath. Most of you already know this, though. In the "Main Rp", the sins are represented as such: they're originally demons formed by pure sin. They're immortal by choosing a vessel to dwell within, and become. The sins choose someone that truly represents them, and becomes one with them. They take over the vessel, and if necessary kills the previous mind of that vessel. Otherwise, the two minds become one and work together to have the body. This vessel can be any race, and anyone for that matter. More on this within the plot)
