"We made that decision about halfway through the season. Abigail wasn’t always going to die. It was one of those where we were going to kill off one of the regular characters, and the character that we were going to kill off, we felt like it wouldn’t be as devastating for that person to die, because we hadn’t fully serviced that character. Someone had said, “I don’t really care about that character dying, but if you’re going to kill somebody that’s going to make me upset, then Abigail Hobbs,” and I was like, “Yeah, that’s who we have to kill, isn’t it?” It’s kind of as simple as, “Whose death would mean the most?” and it was Abigail’s."Byran Fuller interview with AVclub Yeah. I was in denial so hoping she would survive since she was alive in the book (yes, I attach myself WAY too much to characters). emo I hope we see a lot more of Kacey Rohl now. She'll be in the TV movie Doubt (2013) and episode one of season two of Cracked in 2014.

I totally agree with Bryan on that though. She needed to die to make us all upset and keep us coming back. I love how it was handled. I love that there was some kind of sadness for Hannibal. I just loved how they handled it. This show is so awesome. But yes, it will be hard to not have Abigail anymore.
The thing that has me wondering the most, is how did Hannibal get the ear into Will's body...

I am still in denial. I'm seriously hoping they're just leading us on so it'll be even more shocking when she returns (I can dream, right?) I really love Abigail as a character, and I've liked Kacey as an actress since I saw her on Supernatural. That girl does tortured and potentially unstable teenagers well, lol. Then again, I don't want her death to lose meaning because of her return, but I would really like to see her again, so whateva whateva.
I haven't read that interview in a little while, but doesn't he go on to refuse to say who was going to die first, because he may be saving their death for later? That worries me even more, ahaha.

Maybe she will take the place of her father as the one haunting Will in season two. Maybe we will still see Abigail, only a figment of Will's imagination...
