Today was a grand day indeed to try once again at their ongoing effort for wealth. The nymph gave his steady ship one last look, the vessel guarded by his most trusted crew, before turning around to gaze upon the island. Already a few were busy combing through the land in search of precious gems and gold, but for the Captain? Well, he was far too important to be bothered with manual labor. So it was time for him to get out of Sein Lagoon and scout the surrounding area for anything interesting. Days on the ship with just his crew were boring and bland, and his dangerous sea heart longed for excitement. Using his sword to cut down debris on his way, he sauntered towards Loka Nei forest.

Andromeda flew over the tree tops on the island, enjoying the feeling of the wind beneath her wings, her short cropped hair tousling easily. She skimmed right above the tops of the trees of Loka Nei forest, reaching down to touch the leaves as she passed by. As she flew, the wind carried noises from some group activity farther up.

Curious...

Flicking her tail a little, she changed directions and began to head towards the Sain Lagoon. As the sandy beaches came in to sight, she could see figures everywhere on the beach. "What in the world...?" She muttered to herself before fluttering down to the beach.

The sand was soft between her feet and she looked around at the strange sight, placing her hands on her hips and snapping her wings out in a stretch before folding them back.

His land-legs were slow to come, making him sway rather awkwardly and hindering his progress. The result was leaving the nymph depressingly halfway across the beach by the time he noticed a shadow slip over head. He instantly paused, well aware that such a large shadow was caused by no bird. Which only left one thought in his mind - a threat to his treasure hunt. He instantly turned heel against the sand, a snarl already forming upon his lips in anticipation to scare off any intruder. He was going to mash them, hang them from the yardarm...Wait. The eyebrow hovering above his one good eye lifted in surprise, focusing on a somewhat distant shape. A girl was coming to take his treasure? He could have laughed. "Well shiver me timbers. I've found me fun after all." The captain muttered under his breath, hooked hand reaching up to tap the brim of his hat a bit further up. Sheathing his blade, he turned himself to walk towards her. As he walked however, a few of his crew started to fall behind him. Instantly he stopped short. "...Methinks I can handle a wee wench. So if ye all want to keep yer scrawny hides intact, I'd suggest ye get back to diggin." Just like that, the crew dispersed once more and he was free to continue his awkward walk towards the rainbow winged pae. Now he would be sure none of his crew would interrupt him.

An eyebrow slowly raised as she watched a very interesting looking Nymph sway his way towards her, a few of the other moving behind him as if getting ready to fight. Great, well if they were looking to hit first and ask questions later, she wasn't about to stick around. She was just curious to know what kind of 'party' was going down over heard. Already, the leader of this pack looked like he was drunk, with the way he was swaying.

When the nymph growled something at his followers, the others scampered off quickly, and Andromeda continue to watch him advance. Her tail flicked a bit behind her as she waited him to get within a close enough distance for a conversation. "Strange game you boys are playing out here. Did you lose something?"

The closer he got to the female, the more intrigued he became. She was a very pretty, albeit colorful pae, with soft orange hair and a glowing halo. A slow smile spread across his lips as he approached her a moment before he tipped his hat. "Ahoy there lass. This be no game." His voice was gruff, much like sandpaper, but there was a certain power to it. It came from ruling a ship and crew with an iron fist. He smiled toothily, his eye shining. "Alas, it be nothin to trouble ye with. Just a patch of scurvy dogs diggin in the sand. Savvy?" Hopefully that would be enough for her, but just in case he'd change the subject. "I never set eye upon ye before. What's yer name lil lass?"

The skeptical look that came over Andromeda's face stated clearly that she wasn't buying this act. This had to be an act; no one spoke like this and these get ups everyone was in... seriously, what prank had she walked in on? Whatever, she'd play along- it wasn't like she had anything better to do this afternoon.

"Andromeda. And as long as you aren't here to cause trouble, I guess I could offer a hand to help. I'm pretty strong. I'm assuming, with the piratey costumes and the sea-dog speech, you're treasure hunting. An extra set of hands and eyes couldn't hurt, and I've got nothing better to do."

It hardly mattered to Darias what the female thought. He was what he was and he wasn't what he wasn't. "Trouble? Nay. Throw me to Davy Jones if I be causin 'trouble'." Piratey costumes? Costumes? She really thought it was a game! It made him grin all the more. "Sharp lass, worth yer weight in gold. I be always plunderin' fer good booty." A quick look to the female, just a quick one so she wouldn't notice. Good booty had already been found. "If ye swears to not hornswaggle me, an extra pair of hands I could use. The booty is mine. Any bilge rat who be thinkin' else answers to ol' Cap'n Darias." He fingered the hilt of his sword, his smile suddenly turning from comical to almost dangerous. "An' ol Cap'n Darias does not give second chances."

"Uh huh...." Somehow, Andromeda was really doubting that there was anything of worth buried anywhere under the sands here, but whatever, at least it was something to do. Crossing her arms over her chest, she chuckled. "I don't even know what 'hornswaggle' means, but seeing that I have no horns."

She started walking past him, heading to see if she could get a shovel or bucket from one of the others, then glanced over her shoulder and placed two fingers to her temple in a salute. "Aye, Captain."

It had been a darn good thing she hadn't noticed him checking her over, or there would be a MUCH more dangerous set of events happening... starting with her slapping him into next week for checking her out.

Did she not understand pure simple pae language? He chalked it up to her being a land-lubber as he motioned one of his crew members to meet up with her. "Throw a shovel to 'er matey. She be wanting to join our lil 'treasure hunt'." The pae who answered shuffled over to the female, his smile toothless from years of bad hygiene. As he handed her his shovel however, he was not as subtle as Darias in his gaze. He dare not touch her; she was the Captain's 'guest'. But there was nothing to be said of looking. After all, it had been months since any of the crew had seen a proper female.

The look-over from this other pae didn't go unnoticed by Andromeda, and she frowned a little. Grasping the shovel she gave a forceful yank and snorted. "Unless you aim for wearing two eye patches for the rest of your life, I suggest you don't look at me like a predator eyeing a fat morsel."

Turning, she walked over near where the rest of the crew was digging and began moving sand herself. She spread open her wings to arch over her head in a shield from the sun beating down above.

The crew member blinked in surprise at the female when she yanked it from his grip, not used to such force from someone of the opposite sex. He opened his mouth to tell her off, just before he caught the Captains glare. Instantly he shut it again and hobbled off back to his spot.

Meanwhile, Darias was quite amused. A smirk on his lips, he sauntered over to where she began digging. Surprisingly he grabbed another shovel from one of his crew but didn't begin the work himself. That was beneath him. Instead he stuck the head into the ground to lean on the handle. "Quite a mouth on ye lass." A light chuckle, his eyes sparkling in mirth. "I 'preciate a gal worth her salt." High praise from a male such as himself, though of course the sentiment would be lost on the other. She still thought he was 'pretending' to be a pirate. He wondered briefly how else this could benefit him. "How big be tis island?" More like, how long would it take to comb through on his search for treasure.

Moving a few more shovels-full of sand, Andromeda brushed her short hair out of her eyes and glanced over at Darias as he joined her. A smirk came over her face and she shrugged. "Not much of a fan of putting up with crap, especially from men." She sunk the shovel in deep and moved more sand into her pile. No, she wasn't much a fan of men period, not after what happened with her sister and that damned Erote.

"The island? Big enough that it has secrets and that families can go for years without seeing one another, but small enough where it can feel like you see the same damn landmarks day after day." Not exactly the answer the Captain was looking for, but really, she didn't know exactly how big the place was as a number.

The captain was no idiot, and thus instantly tucked the bit of information away. If they were continue their little game in peace, he would need to at least be subtle. Unfortunately, subtlety was something he often lacked. "Oh? Why blow down the malefolk?" Standing up for oneself was understandable. But a vendetta against males? "As fer the isle...Alas, that nary answers me." But he wasn't going to dwell upon it. Perhaps a more direct approach was in order. "Do ye know of any booty to be had? Gold, jewels, shiny trinkets? Argghh...I'd even pillage fer sum rum." They had run dry a solid week ago. Partially why they had dropped anchor and finally approached the island after being there for so long. As it was strange territory, they had first wanted to make sure there wasn't an ambush waiting.
