On the surface: An ambitious young man at heart, Jasper is quite the mysterious young man. He is ultimately reserved when it comes to making friends or even acquaintances. If he were to follow through a job, he would be brief and quick worded so that he could leave right away. Although, he does have his moments of being a chatter-box and informative up to the point where no one can stop him from talking. Especially if the subject is about science or ghost pokemon. A normal person would think that "hey, he likes ghosts. totally a creepy guy". Nope. Quite different from most ghost type trainers. It must have been the influence of his friends that got him to be a little more light-hearted.
But deep down: As a young boy, Jasper enjoyed anything and everything about pokemon. He did anything that he could to learn anything about them. Especially ghost type pokemon. They were one type that he had become infatuated with ever since child hood. When his mother was not looking, he would dart out of the house to find the nearest "haunted place" he could find at night. That was when he met a Duskull that he just had to befriend. Every time night rolled around, he would sit anxiously by his bedroom windowsill to await for his newly made friend. When his mother found out, she became enraged with him. She did anything she could in order to make their home "ghost proof". Not that this stopped him from leaving school as quickly as possible to reunite with his old friend. With the help of his very own human friends of course.
Growing up, Jasper was never the most popular boy in school. With only two friends he had made out of sheer luck and coincidence, he really spent most of his days either with them or all by himself in a corner of the school house. One friend in particular he had spent time with; one named Isabelle. She was one friend he kept worrying about, considering her reckless nature. Most days, he tried making sure that she didn't... well, die. When that fateful day came around where she got into a fight with a Hariyama, he has been obsessing over her ever since. Especially since he was the oldest of their little group. One could say that he felt responsible for her getting hurt. Oh the guilt of the eldest child. Before she got into an accident, she was his means of getting out of the house and finding out what happened to his little friend. The excuses varied oh so much, from "Hey mom, can I hang out with Isabelle?" or "I'm hanging out with my friend today!". It was a miracle that she did not think he had a crush on his old friend.
As they grew older, Jasper parted from his friends to move to Unova once he graduated high school. Now that he was out of his own mother's control, he could do almost anything. He was a free-reign trainer! For now, anyways. Hearing about Team Solstice, he was disgusted by their ways. Capturing pokemon from others? ESPECIALLY a legendary? It made him sick to the bone. He joined up as "infiltration", first alerting another old friend of his in the police force (or pokemon rangers...) and posing as one of them. His personality surely makes him not look suspicious. For now, he just gathers Intel about anything legendary pokemon related or just occurrences in the region.
