F a l l a c y The Martyr turned her attention to the Defender. They had quite the history together from when this all began up until now. Yet those memories were starting to diminish their meaning to her as time went on. She felt that the longer she clung to them and hoped for things the way they were, the more it would never happen. The more she would be led astray by whatever force may be. A brief wave of sympathy washed over her features as it grew harder for Defender to speak but she steeled herself and the sympathy vanished just about as quickly as it appeared.
"You words, while sweet, my dear knight... May as well be blatant lies. I would rather have a dagger through my chest than have you defend my heart. I am well aware of your blossoming... "friendship"... with that mangled excuse of a creation." She hissed the words and cracked the tip of her tail on the ground. The mangled excuse she spoke of was Corrupter. While it is true the other Cursed God assisted in aiding their warriors who fell in battle, she never could bring herself to trust let alone converse with the rhyming schemer. He was still a creation of the Mastermind and thus a permanent fixture of distrust for Martyr. "I cannot trust you anymore. As far as I'm concerned you're already his puppet." She raised a hand and pointed towards the exit. "See yourself out."
The Martyr took all the courage she had to tell the man she loved deeply to get out not only of her land but her life. While she looked calm and collected on the outside, inside all she wanted to do was weep. The suffering... it was a delicious type of bittersweet. She wouldn't be surprised if in no time Defender found himself with another mate. In fact, she wouldn't blame him. [[Unless if he can sway her, Martyr is going to annul their alliance. It makes me super sad but this is what she's chosen to do. ono She won't tell me whyyyy.]]
"He may be a useful ally in the long run. We can easily turn him against Mastermind should it come down to it - she ignores the creature like the rest of her followers." He glances at her from the corner of his eye, noting the gesture to the exit, "That mangled excuse of a creation did save my life and I lent him an ear in return. So far he has proved himself...interesting. I do not trust him and I may never truly do so. Even Thanh sees him as a playable piece in this war we wage."
And his Demi did have a fresh pair of eyes on the entire situation they were faced with. But Defender could only say so much to sway her opinion. "If it is your fear of my turning against you because of this creature, then I shall end communication with him and distance myself from his reach." He turned to her and put his hand to his chest, bowing low and drawing his wings downwards in a submissive manor. "You are my first true ally and Lady, and you always will be. If these words still do not sway your opinion, then I shall take the hint and go my way."

"A useful ally? Oh, Defender... If only you could see his kindness is a game. He is using you." She crossed her arms over her chest. "You would have to be a thousand times craftier and a million more ahead of his game in order to beat his corruption." The Martyr had never met Defender's new demi and could not gauge his abilities from mere hearsay. Still - they would have to be one crafty individual to outwit a being known for corruption and manipulation. And to be honest - it wasn't a game she was having any part of. She'd rather slaughter the damn thing with the chess pieces than sit down and have a game of chess. The Martyr knew while she had her wits, she was not crafty nor clever enough to go toe to toe with Corrupter on his level. So she would have to take another route and reinvent the wheel so to speak.
The Martyr watched Defender bow before her in submission and tilted her head. She unfolded her arms and approached him, kneeling slightly and placed a claw under his chin, lifting his head so they could make eye contact. "Absolutely no communication from you or any one that's your follower no matter their status?" A growl escaped her lips and she unfolded her wings to their full span. "If you betray me, Defender... I will personally rip that wing from your back and ram it down your throat, silencing you for good."

((Grr much, Martyr? *chuckles*)) He'd known offering what little 'friendship' he had might have changed her mind, but he didn't realize it would actually sting as she accepted the offering. His eyes flashed a bit of pain for a moment as she growled at him, but he quickly hid it for he was loyal to her and loved her more than he could ever love Corrupter.
"If that is your wish, M'lady, then so be it." He swallowed lightly as his throat was getting too sore now to talk much longer, the scars taking their toll once again especially at the tilted angle, "I will no longer make contact with him and if I catch any of my followers doing the same they will be severely punished." And in secret he too would punish himself, for he did enjoy the creatures quips and rhymes to an extent. "And should I ever betray you, you may have my heart. I swear this on the cursed soul I carry."

She's thrown some her followers around like rag dolls before to test their resolve. .n.; So I can't imagine what she'd do to the God she loves should he betray her.]] The Martyr only gave a smirk at that before pulling her hand away and rose to her feet. "I intend to make light of your offer should the situation ever arise." She turned and stepped away to give them some distance so the Defender could stand up if he wished. While the Cursed God had said he would stay away, would he really? She had her doubts. Subtle fears, if you will. Only time would tell if he would make good of his words or unleash a hellish wrath that lurked deep within the dragon's very core. Yet no matter what she could not shake the nagging feeling that betrayal would eventually follow. This was Corrupter they were dealing with after all.

((*snorts* I don't doubt it. I'd never wanna piss off a dragoness anyways. I pity the moment Defender happens to falter.)) He couldn't help it as a sense of relief washed over him as she accepted his offer. Even if it did come with a threat that he knew she'd hold to him. He rose to his feet properly and went to stand at an angle behind her, making sure that whatever followers were still nearby could see him, even if he was in the shadows of the dragoness. Though Defender still couldn't shake the feeling himself that he would have to prove himself to her should Corrupter showed up to interact...and he felt a moment of regret at the coming future.

Username: I--LiveWire--I Pockettu: Krow Coldvein Why do they wish to follow her?: Krow is not going to give up on that which he has set his sights on. He joined the ranks of the cursed for her and though he is cunning and primarily self serving, He will not deny that she is the pure embodiment of what he believes in and will never be far from her or her service whether she likes it or not. She has become the only one that he would do anything for aside from himself of course. Anything else?:He stills seeks to be part of her harem and he would literally do anything for her. Though he might be viewed as totally self serving he has found himself drawn to her and what she is and even if turned away from her following he will not give up that easily and will follow her from the shadows seeking that which he desires, her presence and to father children that will bring suffering.

Martyr - Hear my plea... let me suffer for your cause!Username: Yousei Akki Pockettu: SnakebiteWhy do they wish to follow her?: Snakebite believes that she was 'born' because of the war that Martyr waged with Venezia. Both sides suffered horrible defeats (And so many 1's!) After the war was complete, Snakebite spent some time with her counterpart,Jagger, mulling over where they were to go next. The normal gods of course were out of the question. Warrior had too many rules and discipline for her. Defender, for lack of a better description, was too soft as far as Snake was concerned. Mastermind was too manipulative and seemed to do little more than sit around plotting. Corrupter was just over sized dog. Which all led to Martyr. She was violent, she acted instead of sitting around. That was why Snakebite chose to pledge herself to Martyr the first time, and those reasons still remain strong. Anything else?: When Martyr turned her followers out, Snakebite will admit she was angry. Maybe a little insulted even that after making the important choice to follow her, that she'd just tell her to leave. She spent time talking with Jagger and playing the 'Pro and Con' game. In the end it was decided that she owed Martyr at least a token show of loyalty, since she was the one Snake credits for her birth. A sort of Warbaby perhaps? Her father is extremely devoted to Martyr. As the only parent she knows, she has done everything she can to make him proud of her. Following Martyr is sort of like taking up the family business. It makes sense to her and to not do so...well that seems so utterly absurd! Anything else?: Truth be told Andalae thought Martyrs announcement was some sort of test or her attempt to shake loose some dead weight before heading out on a journey she didn't want to baby sit weaklings like her on. Andalae was prepared to step back, perhaps seek relocating within Defenders followers, so she would still be serving Martyr. However, after she had a bit of time to think, she decided that perhaps she could remain a follower of Martyr, if she allowed it, and simply remain behind. Someone has to keep the temple clean right? And if not...well...she will just tag along in the shadows like her father taught her to.

They both reveled in the suffering everywhere, and the horrible bouts of bad luck warriors had when they were near, and so when the war was over and they felt there was no point to their existence, they decided there was no one better to follow than her (the other cursed gods just didn't cut it). They needed to have the possibility of being around suffering (and of course causing it) all the time, and without Martyr, it would be very difficult to find purpose in their lives. Anything else?: Jagger was undoubtedly heartbroken when Martyr tried to push them all away. He almost felt like it was a break up. Were they getting dumped?! To be honest, even though he and Snakebite had indeed played the pro and con game whether to stay or not, it was his mate's push and decision to keep the course that made him agree. For better or for worse, they were going to keep following their (possibly) crazy Goddess to see what lied ahead. Whatever happened, it would likely lead to more suffering and excitement! This sort of discord is the kind of thing he lives for, and he wouldn't give up anything to keep following her to discover what plans she had for the future. Anything else?: He didn't believe her when she said she wanted to be on her own, and honestly, he rather hopes her claim of followers being able to leave her without consequence was a lie. Imagine the sort of despair and suffering that could result from punishing those who thought they could escape the life of suffering they signed up for (and deserve, as does everyone)! Ohhh it would be sweet irony indeed. Martyr - Hear my plea... let me suffer for your cause!Username: Sinbari Pockettu: YanamariWhy do they wish to follow her?: There has been no more sure thing in Yanamari's world than the desire to inflict suffering on others, in her vindictive way. Her past has driven her to this never-ending goal, and Martyr herself, and so it shall be. The fact she bestowed demi-goddess status upon her means she is on the right path and is proving herself worthy. She will continue to follow Martyr as long as she lives, even if it means the Goddess herself causes the end of her vengeful path. Anything else?: Yana hopes Martyr is seeking to aim Suffering at some other unfortunate souls wherever she has decided to go, and simply letting the deadweight stay behind them. She enjoyed herself immensely in the last war and would like nothing more than more victims to crush beneath her hooves.

She will continue to show her faith in her own, silent way, especially in any upcoming wars... if there is to be any. Her loyalty would not have ended, even if her family had chosen not to continue following the Martyr, like her daughter Vera.
