People say I tend to be I guess I'd have to say I'm rather shy, timid and extremely quiet for the most part. Usually you wouldn't be able to catch me without my face buried in a book of some sort. I also enjoy playing music, though I tend to get lost in the music when I play...so don’t take it too personally if I happen to block you out when playing. I’ve also been described as motherly before; I have a habit of fussing over people from time to time. It happens more often if I know you even if I don’t know you all that well I still managed to fuss. If I’m still trying to get comfortable around you and you need help, or I think you do, my quietness tends to go out the window. Don’t worry, it quickly returns once you’re fine again. Once I’m comfortable around a person though I’m much more willing to talk to you, rather than try and hide behind one of my books. I tend to fuss about you a lot more though, so watch out for that. I promise, just give me some time and I swear that I’ll work up the courage to be more at ease around you.
Honestly my personality is mostly based on my mood. Usually I’m pretty playful, more than a little flirty, and a bit childish from time to time. Flirting is second nature to me I’ve been doing it for so long, sorry in advance if it annoys you. Never mind, I’m not sorry, I’m having my fun so I don’t particularly care about how it makes you feel. Let’s see…as far as my being childish is concerned I have a nasty habit of holding a grudge against someone if they do something that I deem as wrong, or I don’t agree with them. People in general are something that interest me, I love observing those around me and asking questions. I don’t usually want to seem too interested in people though so I tend to start asking questions when I’m bored, when I can satisfy my curiosity and be not so bored by being a pain. I can also be pretty impulsive and just do something without even thinking about it, which has gotten me in trouble a few times. We won’t talk about that though…
You're so nosy. Fine, we will tell you that we were born in a small village. Our mother raised us the best that she could on her own. Our father took off not too long after Annabel was born, so we never really knew him. Kaoru and my mother tended to the small farm that we had while I ran around the village running errands for people to make some extra money for us. When I was about ten I was sent out to the forest near the village to get some herbs my mother wanted that only grew in the forest. I got the herbs that she wanted and then got distracted by something that caught my attention, what exactly it was I can’t remember anymore. After a while I headed back home, herbs in hand, and as I neared the village I realized that there was fire consuming the village. While Annabel was off doing what our mother wanted these men came into the village with weapons and began taking the villagers as prisoners, killing anyone to dared to try and fight back. Two of the men came after Mother and me, we ran to the house and the men managed to get to the house before we could do anything. One of them grabbed me and started to drag me out of the house and that’s when my mother just lost it and attacked the man that had grabbed me. Annabel got home just in time for that. I raced home and arrived in time to see one of the men killing my mother for protecting Kaoru. All I can remember from that day after seeing that is the sound of the men screaming, burning flesh, and Kaoru leading me out of the village. She took one look at our mother after what they did to her and she managed to manipulate the fire around her to burn them alive.
After that we moved from village to village, working odd jobs here and there. We would either work for some money to get food and continue on our way or we worked for our keep at inns or pubs. Some nights when we stayed at pubs I remember Kaoru would slip out when she thought I was sleeping and she would be back in the morning with fresh food and more money left over after getting food than we usually had. I wonder how she got that. Hmm? I did what I had to do to make sure that I took care of my little sister. Anyways, this continued for a few years before we managed to get a permanent place to stay. There was this man, and his very much pregnant wife, who need someone to help clean up around the house and help take care of the baby after it was born. The man was going to be gone on a trip of some kind and wanted to make sure his wife was going to be okay while he was away. They had a very nice house and looked to be loaded, so why not right? After the man left, Kaoru normally ended up cleaning around the house while I helped the woman with the baby and ran errands for the woman in the nearby town. We stayed with the woman until he came back. Mind you the kid was already walking on his own, and starting to talk, by the time his father returned. Not to mention the woman began to believe her husband wasn’t going to come back for one reason or another. After he got back the couple offered to let us stay with them for good, we took them up on the offer.
Kaoru and I stared out as maids for the family that originally lived in the house, but over time they began to consider us family. We took care of the descendants we had started out with until the last son was born. He was the very much great grandson of the couple. He had always been very sickly and he was the only one in the family left, his parents dying from some sickness that was going around. Alexander, the sickly boy, ended up leaving everything that the family had left to offer, or he did, to Annabel and myself. The estate, the money, and everything else that they had to give. He told us it was a small payment that for what we had done for them over the years. Now here we are, two nekos who don’t know what to do with what they have suddenly found themselves with.
