I suppose a switchblade. They are however illegal in Canada and restricted throughout most of the world including the United States. a switchblade being an automatic knife.

a switch blade and a butterfly knife both have movable joints lets say they are made from the same super sharp dumuscus super sealed handles and cant break , comes down to either suaveness versus parlor tricks ill go with switch blade , preferably with a pearl handles.

My Two Cents: Switchblades are the Hummers of knives. They're expensive, hard to maintain and you're never going to use them for what they have the rep for. I also find them too flimsy for real use, whereas a good balisong, with minor maintenance, can last for a few hundred actual uses. Plus, people are more frightened by flipping then popping a blade out of a handle.

I agree with Asura. Most types of folding knives are sturdier than switchblades, and I want sturdy in a knife fight. I consider being able to stand up to being repeatedly jammed into something with all my strength much more valuable than any degree of finess. It might take a bit more care to get it open, but that's a trade off I'd make.

If it's just the look someone want, Kreigar makes some decent stilettos in the Italian style, the so called "Deer Hunter" switchblade design, that are fairly cheap and open quick and easily.
