x x x x x x ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Kohii held onto Drew's hand as they left the mansion, chattering away happily about their home and his room and what they would do when they got there. Listening to the happy spirit, Theana smiled to herself. She was simply pleased to have found someone that suited them both so well, though it was clear they were going to have issues. Not bad issues, but she knew enough to tell when someone was hurting, deep down. Scarred. Perhaps that was another reason she had been determined to take the milk elf home with her, she mused, as they got into the car and the driver began to take them home. Here she was, with unlimited wealth and a void in her life that even Kohii couldn't fill any longer. Perhaps Drew was what she needed as well, someone to care for and help. She wanted to see him smile and be happy, not look so scared, as if expecting her to start hitting him or yelling at him at any moment. Theana was a soft-spoken woman even when angry, but it was very difficult to get her more than annoyed. She very much doubted that the quiet milk elf would manage to make her even bothered at all.
"Let me take care of that," she said, waiting until Kohii had to pause for breath before leaning over. Drew was tucked between the two of them and Thea carefully undid the collar, taking it away and tossing it down onto the floor of the car to be disposed of later. Her distate was evident in her face. As one who had worn chains of slavery of her own sort so many years ago, she had no desire to see another suffering the same. With a small smile and nod, she sat back and let Kohii continue to talk, content with simply listening to the spirit speak so cheerfully to someone else. She should have gotten Kohii a companion long ago, she thought with a twinge of regret. Drew was unknowingly correct in his guess about his new mistress - she placed Kohii's happiness far above her own, not believing that she was really worth much attention at all. It was enough, or at least she told herself it was enough, that her little spirit was happy and had someone else to keep her company. Settling back against the seat, Theana closed her ruby eyes and simply listened to the chatter the rest of the way there.
It took a few hours to reach her home and they stopped for food at a fast-food place on the way. Thea didn't need to eat, not much anyway, and Kohii liked the cheesesticks the place had. Always indulged and eternally remaining unspoiled, the spirit got what she wanted and Theana let Drew order whatever he did as well. They didn't eat at such places often, but she was...well, not in a hurry to get home, exactly. But she was anxious to see what the milk elf thought of his new home, she wanted to make sure he liked it. Then they could eat a decent meal, this was simply to tide them both over. The food was long gone by the time they reached the house and Thea stepped out, helping Kohii hop out and giving Drew a soft smile as he straightened from the car. "This is your new home," she told him quietly, hoping he liked it. Before he really had much of a chance to react, Kohii grabbed his hand and began to drag him down the pathway to the front doors.
"Come on, come see! I'll show you all around and you can see your rooms!" she told him eagerly, dragging him inside. Thea smiled and left the tour up to her little spirit, following them inside at a much more sedate pace, heels clicking on the stone, and then the tile underneath her at the front door. Shutting it, she heard Kohii telling him that 'this is your room' and then the bathroom. She had promised he would have his own bedroom and bathroom, after all, and wondered if he had believed her. Well, if he didn't want to sleep alone, Kohii was always more than happy to share her bed. And Thea wouldn't mind if he wanted to sleep with her either, he and his rabbit. She knew what it was like to be lonely and scared. Whatever Drew wanted to do was honestly fine with her, she wasn't very demanding at all. It was partly to keep the house full and lively, partly to keep them company. Heading into the living room, she stretched out on the couch and listened the noises upstairs as Kohii showed the milk elf their bedrooms as well, so he knew where it all was.

Drew Barlett It was all so new, and his excitement threatened to take him over. He smiled and nodded in respective places as Kohii talked on and on, never taking a pause to breathe or think. Her jubilance filled him slowly, and before he knew it they were in the backseat of Theana's car, talking and joking around. Already he could feel a strong platonic bond forming with her. She seemed like the kind of girl who'd make storm clouds look white. But he still spoke cautiously. Drew stole silent glances at Thea, then pulled his attention back to Kohii as she was halfway through some story about a squirrel stuck in a gutter. He furrowed his eyebrows, not sure if he was more confused or curious. He just wanted her to keep talking, to fill the air that would be otherwise empty without her voice.
Kohii didn't seem to mind, and through the entire ride the trill of her voice kept the car ride light and warm, as if there was a bonfire in the center of the car that emitted joy with each flicker. He watched Kohii stop to inhale for a moment and laughed. "And here I was thinking you never needed to breathe." Drew smiled at the coffee spirit, watching a short pout cross her before she smiled. His body tensed in defense, a reaction he wasn't used to anymore. He looked to his opposite side to see fingers on his neck. He would've been even more on edge if it wasn't for the loosening of the tight velvet collar that had choked him since his arrival in the van that morning. He still didn't understand why they fastened it so tight. Drew had no real 'powers' for say, and he had been classified as tame. Then again, he didn't understand a lot of things about masters and mistresses, or the world, for that matter.
Drew looked over curiously as his mistress threw the collar on the floor as if it were rotten food. He opened his mouth as if he had words, a question, a statement, but Thea's nod somehow put block on anything he was about to say. e let out a soft sigh, and like that the milk elf was back to listening to the coffee pot's fascinating tales about varying anomalies in her life. She was talking as if she'd just had a zipper removed from her mouth. Thea and the spirit must've not talked a lot. Guess that's why I'm here, to be a companion. Someone who'll listen He thought as they pulled into some sort of fast food establishment. He'd been to one of these a few times in the past, but never ordered anything. "I'll have...a strawberry milkshake? Is that alright?" With a reassuring nod from Kohii, he smiled and confirmed his request. And like that, he sat in the backseat between a coffee pot and his mistress for the rest of the ride drinking his sweet treat in silence.
The car stopped a final time outside a large manor, which he assumed was Thea's residence. They'd barely stopped when Kohii grabbed him and dragged him out of the car. Drew clung to his empty cup and followed obediently, making sure to grab his small bag of stuff. They stopped at one door towards the end of the hall. The spirit told him that it was his bathroom-- he got his own bathroom?-- and the next door was his bedroom. The door swung open to the latter of the two rooms, and Drew couldn't help but gape with awe. It was huge and lavish, rivaling the one in the slave market. He sat his bag and Patches on the bed, making sure his prized bunny was sitting upright against a pillow.
"Thank you Kohii. I think I'll unpack, then go downstairs." He waited a moment for her to leave, then undid the zipper to his bag and began pulling out clothes. He hadn't gotten any new clothes since he was twenty-one, but it wasn't as if his old clothes didn't fit him. His body hadn't changed much in three years. He methodically sorted everything into piles. Underwear on one side of the bed, pajamas in the armchair, shirts on a pillow. The milk elf began to reach the bottom of his bag when he saw something that made him stop folding what was in his hands.
There was a corner of something pink showing from beneath an over-sized T-shirt. Pink? He hadn't worn anything that colour in years. He pulled out the next few items that were stacked upon the mystery garment, then picked it out. His fingers curled around the soft satin tight enough to tear a hole. It was a simple apron in a garish shade of pink with a red heart on the left side pocket. That familiar clench of muscles in his arm returned, and he took a deep breath to calm his nerves. Nothing to get flustered over. You don't have to wear it anymore if you don't want to...how do you still have this, though? And it still reeks of him. He shook the barrage of thought from his head and tossed the apron on the bed, leaving it where it laid until he finished his sorting and putting away.
Drew found himself in front of the mirror, trying it on. He was just curious to see if it still fit him. He left his underwear on and tied the strings around his neck and waist, then examined himself. He felt fifteen, if it were even possible to go back to that time. And the milk elf felt disgusting. Just wearing this thing made his skin crawl. He quickly undid the ties and put his normal clothing back on. He crumpled the old apron and brought it towards the trash, then with a quick change of heart, turned towards his dresser and shoved it in the back of the middle drawer. Before leaving, he grabbed Patches from his bed, then closed the door on his way downstairs.

x x x x x x ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Even the tsukumogami could get the hint that the milk elf wanted to be alone for a bit, so she smiled at him and gave him a hug before bouncing out of the room to go find Theana. It wasn't a surprise to see her on the couch, stretched out like that, and Kohii promptly launched herself onto the woman's stomach before turning on the television to some nonsensical kids' show. "I really like him!" she said enthusiastically, turning her smile onto the homunculus, who was trying to catch her breath from the sudden assault. Coughing a bit, Theana looked up at her with a wry smile and nodded her agreement. Kohii finally scooted off to let her sit up and she straightened out her clothing with a shake of her head.
"I gathered as much," Theana remarked, patting the coffee spirit on the head. "I like him too," she added, before the girl could ask her that as well. Satisfied with that answer, Kohii settled back with a giggle to watch the show, having developed a fascination for cartoons a few years ago. Admittedly, they made Theana curious as well, since they were relatively new to her, and she was more than happy to indulge her tsukumogami's curiosity in any case. There were no secrets she held from Kohii, though there were plenty she had with everyone else. There had to be at least one person in her life she couldn't lie to, though, and thankfully she'd had Kohii pop into her life at just the right time, she was beginning to think she would always be alone.
Settling down on the cough with the girl, Theana kept an ear out for anything going on upstairs. There was nothing that she could hear and she took that as a good sign, not sure how else she could take it anyway. It certainly didn't seem as if he wanted to talk about his past and if something was bothering Drew, the homunculus wasn't sure what she could do to help him if he didn't want to go to her. Maybe it would be easier with Kohii, at least she hoped so. She didn't want the milk elf being miserable in her home, she wanted him to be happy and feel comfortable. Well, that would take time, she was sure, but it was a bit discouraging to think he might be upset and neither of them could help her. She glanced up when she heard him come down the stairs and smiled as he came over and stood in the doorway, as if hesitant to come in. "You can sit with us if you want," Theana invited him, patting the spot next to her. "We can always put on something else if you'd rather watch something different, we don't care."
"Of course not, not at all!" Kohii piped up encouragingly, smiling at him and bouncing a bit in her seat, as if excited to have her new friend join them.

あたし の さけび きく ですか「Not anymore」
What am I again? A princess? Or Psychopath?
あたし だれ? おうじょ? きょしん?
Physical pain burns dimmer than my emotional agony Drew Barlett Noises echoed up the stairs, greeting Drew in his descent. The others must've already settled themselves back into their normal places in the home. He needed to find his place here. The boy quietly padded down the stairs and turned into the living room, finding his new mistress and her companion situated comfortably on the couch, Well, nothing major had happened in his absence. It'd been so long since he'd watched television; his last master didn't even own one, and the one before that didn't allow slaves to watch television. He...hadn't really allowed for a lot of things, but that was a different topic. Back to the television matter.
Drew looked at the spot that Kohii had left open for him. He sat, staying close to the arm of the chair with one hand grasping it. He'd always preferred the side spot on the couch. It always made him feel the most comfortable. The milk elf looked up at the program that was airing. Some show that he'd never seen. but the voices seemed familiar. Little floating creatures everywhere. He watched the curiously, letting himself be absorbed in the animations for one episode. It took him a while to realized he hadn't even blinked the entire time.
The living space was unbearably quiet. The TV was the only source of energy, unless the silent sound of the smaller girl counted as a noise. He cleared his throat and stood up, stretching his body out. He looked down at the women on the couch, then over at the doorways that led into the other parts of the house. His hand reached out to tap the coffee pot spirit on the shoulder. He figured that Kohii knew her way around the place, and he’d rather not get lost in some deep corner of the house; taking someone with him was the best option by far.
“Hey Kohii, mind showing me around a bit?” He knew she wouldn’t mind; being with her new companion seemed to be the only thing she wanted to do as of this very moment, and now he was giving her such an opportunity. Drew looked to Theana for her approval as his hand withdrew from Kohii’s shoulder slowly. As with anytime he looked into them, her eyes were cool and told nothing about what was on her mind. She was so full of mystery, an enigma he wasn’t sure he’d like to solve, lest dark and unpleasant secrets be dug up.

x x x x x x ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── When Drew came over to sit down, a small smile of approval grace Theana's lips. She wanted him to be comfortable and was pleased that he was slowly adjusting. He was hardly going to grow used to them overnight, she knew that much, but any progress was pleasant and it made Kohii happy, so there was that. In her loneliness for a different sort of companionship than Kohii provided, Theana did her best to focus on the little spirit, ignoring her own feelings. It was uncomfortable to be aware of things like that and she poured all her energy into her businesses, and in making Kohii happy - hence, purchasing Drew. If he was happy, Kohii was happy. And if Kohii was happy, so was the mistress of the home - though really, she was only partially happy. But the lonesome ache was a bit easier to ignore and she relaxed as they both watched the television, Drew seemingly fascinated with it. It was easy for her to surmise that he hadn't been exposed to it much, being a slave, and she didn't care what he did while he was here.
When he suddenly got up, she tilted her head back a bit to watch him. The smile lingered when he tapped Kohii on the shoulder and the tsukumogami looked up at him, clearly a bit surprised. When he asked to be shown around, both of them smiled and the coffee pot spirit hopped to her feet in excitement. He wanted to see the rest of the house - that had to be a good sign! "Of course, Drew! Come on, let's go!" she said eagerly, tugging on his hand. Theana gave him a small nod when she realized he was asking her permission and hoped he would learn that he didn't need it very often at all. As the two left, she pulled her feet up on the couch and stretched out, changing the channel to the news. Kohii never liked watching it, but Theana knew how important it was to keep up with things. She didn't care about the opinions of the newscasters or the studio - she simply wanted to see what was happening and would then investigate any matter that piqued her interest on her own. It was the most efficient way and she would often sit up all night on her computer, looking through news blogs and the like, keeping a finger on the pulse of humanity.
Kohii chattered on happily while she tugged Drew around, showing him all the rooms. There were the main ones they used, and then plenty of spare ones - spare rooms, a fancy dining hall, a library and entertainment room...it went on and on in the sprawling mansion, though it wasn't nearly as large as Theana's main estate. That was the point, she had chosen this to try to make whatever slave she bought more comfortable, and to make Kohii happy. "What's your favorite room, Drew?" the girl asked him curiously, pausing in the tour for a moment to let him catch his breath, realizing she might be going too fast.

あたし の さけび きく ですか「Not anymore」
What am I again? A princess? Or psychopath?
あたし だれ? おうじょ? きょしん?
Physical pain burns dimmer than my emotional agony Drew Barlett The house went by in more of a blur that he'd hoped. Kohii guided him around while chattering all the while. It was nice to listen to her and not have to respond; she understood that she was much more talkative than Drew. They passed his room, a kitchen, many bedrooms and bathrooms, and other extra room. He stopped with her, letting out a soft breath of relief. He'd been speed-walking to keep up with the coffee pot spirit.
"Uh...well I liked all of it personally. I'd like to check out the library sometime." He said, swiping his forehead to wipe away the light sheen of sweat that'd developed there. He looked around the corridor they were standing in, releasing Kohii's hand and wiping them on his pants. There were large bay windows in the room, filling the hall with the orange light of the sunset. It caught his eye, and Drew turned to watch the warm glow begin to dip down beneath the horizon. It was captivating to him; he hadn't seen such a beautiful sunset in at least three years.
The room began to get dark, and lights above them flickered on. He gazed down the hallway that seemed to be never-ending. A twinkle of happiness filled his eyes, and a contented sigh escaped his mouth as he looked down at the coffee pot spirit again.
"Well I think that's enough touring for today, don't you think? We should go join Mas...Theana in the living room again; it's getting dark." It felt so...strange to not call her Master or Mistress. That was one habit that would die hard with him. He took Kohii's small hand in his own again and turned to walk back down the hall in the direction they'd come from.
