... Sorry for lateness and for the godawful first post.
Ulir didn't mind the heat much at all. He didn't love it, but he wasn't about to go out of his way to avoid it. It was part of the job, ad he was going to do his damn job without obnoxious carrying on.
Well okay, Vik didn't think carrying on was obnoxious. For Dolphins it was okay. But that was all the more reason why he had to be serious!
Today he was extra serious and grouchy because Menndan had gotten himself in trouble again and he had had to reprimand him. He really wished the boy would just stop being a troublemaking brat, but as long as that Shenja kept coming by with his trading party the bad behavior would just keep being encouraged. Shenja was a terrible influence and Ulir wished that his friend Diedre didn't come with her obnoxious brother.
He had some hope that as Sh'en the dragonrider, Shenja would learn some damn responsibility and stop being a terrible influence. Unlikely though. A respectable and traditional profession, but unlikely.
Anyway, his mood was bad and he felt that he needed to eat lunch in private today, so that he could calm down and work effectively. Pasta salad wasn't his favorite, but it was food and food was necessary. He walked into one of the meeting rooms and sat down with a growl before angrily stuffing his face with the salad. He muttered into his food.
Stupid kids.
Stupid traders.
Bah, humbug.
And then he realized he wasn't alone. He stared at Kala, then forced himself to swallow.
s**t. Someone had heard him. That wasn't good.
