The Lucifuge

Origin
The Lucifuge is a conspiracy of hunters that are composed of humans descended from demons who, for one reason or another, have vowed to use their demonic powers to fight the monsters in the dark.

Although the children of the devil have been around for centuries, the first to track down their heritage and record the bloodlines was a noblewoman from medieval Milan, known only as The Lucifuge. She sought those families who, every seventh generation, produced a child that was touched with Lucifer's power. When one presented themselves as demon-touched, she sent her messengers to them with a choice; renounce Satan or be destroyed. Those who chose the former became the origins of the Lucifuge. So they have continued since then, eventually becoming completely made of children of hell who have chosen to follow a path of righteousness over one of evil.

Conspiracy - Conspiracies are vast organizations of great power and influence, be it through government support, religious decree, or simply surviving for thousands of years. Many conspiracies work in secret, away from the public eye, and quite a few are dedicated to keeping the supernatural forces hidden from average people. Conspiracies tend to have more far-reaching networks, reliable resources and superior knowledge than regular hunter cells.

Purpose
The Lucifuge uses their "gifts" (or curses, depending on which one you ask) to rid the world of the creatures of darkness, which they believe to have all come from Lucifer's legions. These creatures are carefully tracked and studied before the children of the Seventh Generation reveal themselves to destroy them. They are particularly effective at tracking down demons and other demon-born.

Organization
Members can be born into the Lucifuge as children of demon-blood. If their blood is known, but their families do not follow the ways of the Lucifuge, potentials will be approached by members when their powers manifest. At any point, the Lucifuge has exactly 666 members; if one dies, another always seems ready to step up and take their place.

Most agents will have one of three philosophies towards their work. The Denial ones are the most common and the simplest in beliefs: the devil is evil, and they must do away with that evil to redeem themselves. Reconciliation members are a bit more complex; they believe they are not redeeming themselves, but rather their ancestor Lucifer so that he can rejoin God and put an end to the existence of hell. Finally, the Truth types are the rarest; they are the skeptics, curious as to the motives of the Lucifuge and their role in the whole affair.

Endowment

An Endowment is a special advantage given to hunters who are members of conspiracies. They are used to help hunters within the conspiracy hunt down and kill or capture supernatural creatures. Endowments vary wildly in nature and depend on the origins, motivations, and methods of the conspiracies themselves.

Castigation
Castigation is the Endowment of the hunter conspiracy the Lucifuge.

While the Castigation rituals are quite powerful, many of the Lucifuge are reluctant to employ them, as using Castigation requires them to call on their dark, demonic side. In some cases, a Lucifuge that loses control of a ritual is likely to lose Morality, and possibly pick up or strengthen a derangement. That said, the abilities offered by Castigation are extremely useful in the right circumstances, as the Lucifuge come the closest of any hunter to matching the supernatural in strength and power.

Rituals
Calling Forth the Pit: A hunter can call forth a demon from Hell, or force one to return there.
Familiar: The hunter can call a lesser demon to serve him, either as a spirit with no body or a demon in the form of a small animal.
Gaze of the Penitent: If the hunter has a bit of a target's person on him (hair, blood, and so on), they may force the target to endure visions of the torments of Hell.
Hellfire: A hunter can call and manipulate the flames of Hell itself.
Infernal Visions: A hunter may gain supernatural insight on a question or topic once every night.
Mandate of Hell: The hunter can easily manipulate lesser demons.
Sense of the Unrighteous: A hunter can sense and read the sins of others.
Shackles of Pandemonium: The hunter can trap a demon in a ritual circle.
Tongue of Babel: The hunter can speak and understand every language on Earth as long as it is spoken out loud.

Vampire Rituals
Prima Dictum: The hunter calls upon his own cursed blood to defile the blood in a vampire's body
Abbadon's Call: The hunter raises a corpse to have it do his bidding.
The Mark of Lucifuge: The hunter brands the vampire with the symbol of Cain so that others will recognize the vampire as a creature of evil.
Mage Rituals
Abyssal Bondage: The hunter puts the power of the Abyss into their blood, causing any mages splashed with it to have their spells misfire.
Werewolf Rituals
Familiar Betrayal: A hunter can call, bind, and command a werewolf pack familiar.
Mark of the Beast: A hunter channels their own physical form into a demonic one.
