INNOCENT:

Description of Occupation: As a mendicant priest, Innocent is the NPC most likely to be able to aid recent converts and people considering converting to Obscuvianism. He travels throughout Panymium preaching the holy word of Obscuvos, and especially looks out for Grimms to direct his teachings towards, being a Plague who found Panymisian to be hostile himself. He also has a duty to give charity to the unfortunate and advice to the uncertain.

History: Born of a raven said to be descended from the ravens who defended the Panymisian Magister Vulgis by plucking arrows from the sky on the battlefield while he gave last rites to the dead, Innocent was raised in the monastery keeping the ravens. He was educated by the monks in Panymisian theology, and was adept at it, but was ultimately given by them as a gift to a visiting bishop, who then took him to Helios. Outside the Imisese monastery he was born in, Innocent found that the world was far more hostile to Plagues than he had imagined, particularly in the Panymisian church. He began to form an argument that Plagues have souls using his extensive knowledge of Panymisian doctrine, but after a public humiliation which involved his growth to Anhelo in the middle of a debate, he was excommunicated from the Panymisian church and forced to flee. After some considerable trials, he found acceptance in the Obscuvian church, and now his primary concern is to spread the Obscuvian faith, especially to Grimms, while laying low from the Panymisian church.

Personality: An eloquent and well-educated speaker possessed of innovative ideas, but somewhat reticent and pretentious. He tries hard to relate to his parishioners, but doesn't fully understand the problems of laypeople, having been raised in a monastery. Introverted, usually prefers to relax by being alone, but dutiful in the extreme and willing to fight for his passions. Especially concerned with Plagues and with reconciling Obscuvian doctrine and tradition to a Panymisian audience. Somewhat stuffy and strange, but kind and well-meaning. Possibly due to the influence of his item, has trouble restraining the urge to play fetch when somebody throws something.
