One key, to open the doors...
Before the wrath of darkness began to take over worlds, these three were but children, best friends that had grown up together on a lone island, completely ignorant to any other places. During the wars against the darkness and it's followers, the three were split up, to follow different paths leading them to their fate. Multiple years passed as they each played out their part in ultimately defeating the heartless, nobodies, and the core darkness that fueled evil.
Sora
being of pure enough heart to seal the doors to all the worlds and defeat the darkness in them, Sora has mastered the use of his keyblade. He made long journeys, fought countless battles, learned incredible magic and became great friends with the residents of each world he saved.
Riku
claimed at first he wasn't afraid of the darkness, yet he allowed it to play on his weaknesses and the ones he cared about until it swallowed him. When Sora awoke, he freed Riku from the dark appearance he had taken. He then rejoined his friends in their journey to destroy the very darkness he once welcomed in.
Kairi
was kidnapped by the evil hearts that opened the door to darkness on their home island, and used as bait for both Riku and Sora. She was freed from her captors by Sora and his friends, and returned to Destiny Islands with no recollection of anything, not even Sora's name or face. After many years of blurred flashbacks and shadowed dreams, Kairi was kidnapped again by a servant of darkness, had it not been for a mysterious ally that saved her, led her back to her forgotten friends, and revealed that Kairi, too, was a keyblade wielder.
With the help of the King and his two trusted companions, two masters of darkness: Xehanort and Xemnas defeated and gone, friends made in worlds that seemed more like alternate universes, and the trio is back together again, with Riku's darkness within defeated, Kairi's memories restored: all because of Sora. Now, the three are just getting used to just... being together again. They all vowed after defeating Xemnas to stick together from then on. The King and his friends went back to their world to tie up some loose ends, whilst Sora, Riku and Kairi have finally made it back to Destiny Islands, and are starting on a new beginning.

I'm going to make one for Kairi, as an example, and because I'll be playing her character. I'll also put in some events that didn't happen at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2 to get the story going.
PM it to me, then I'll post it up here by the character's picture, and that character will be reserved. I apologize for all this being a bit unorthodox, but I have grown weary of putting down every last little detail about a character, such as a personality, biography, age, and whatnot. With these characters, you already know a lot about them (assuming you have played both games all the way through) and with that information, creating another story shouldn't be too difficult.

Maybe it was the bright sun streaming through the window. Or the creaking of the boards in her seaside home. Once Kairi had her eyes open, she realized it was the smell.
She was home, and had slept in her own bed for the first time in a while.
Kairi opened her eyes and instantly squinted, for sunlight seemed a lot brighter now that they had all defeated the darkness. Once her eyes had adjusted, she got up and dressed herself. As she slipped on her shoes, she heard steps on the stairs leading to her room.
For months now, she had been scared. She had been kidnapped and imprisoned, terrified of what would happen to her, and no way to defend herself. Not that she could, if given the chance. Until the day she realized that she, too, had a keyblade. Until she realized that her story didn't revolve around what the boys did, that she could make her own destiny.
Now, as she was frightened, a shining blade appeared in her hand, ready for use when needed. She looked down at it, her keyblade, and realized she didn't have to be afraid anymore. She could fight. She could win.
"Kairi? Are you up? Your friends came by a while ago, looking for you." Kairi's mother's voice calmed her, and the weapon she wielded vanished from her hand. "Okay, mom."
Kairi stood there for a second, listening to her mother's steps fade, and thinking about what had unfolded in the last couple weeks. She had seen things she didn't believe were even possible. Sora flew!! And that was the least unexplainable thing that had happened, but Kairi wasn't about to question any of it, because her own eyes had seen it. they had also seen Sora and Riku do other incredible things. Not to mention defeat a prince of darkness. While she just stood on the sidelines. She felt useless. Even though she could wield a keyblade, she didn't know how to use it, or the magic it came with. If another catastrophe happened, Kairi wanted to fight alongside Sora and RIku for the worlds. She wanted to be part of saving something.
So she decided that she would learn. And she couldn't very well teach herself, so she decided to go to the person that seemed to be a master.
