Mafa huffed, tossing her head lightly to clear her view from the ruffled mane that had fallen and covered her eyes. As much as Tuk seemed to be happy about this, Mafa felt just the opposite. She didn't love him, hell, she was only just starting to tolerate him. What was love anyway? Mafa couldn't remember the last time she had loved. With that thought, the female winced and looked to the ground; she wasn't about to bring back those memories again. The past was the past, no way one could change it.

"Well isn't that the whole point? We'll have better.... Spawn than the lions could ever think of"

Was spawn the best word for something that she'd have to live with for so long? No way she could aknowledge them as children... Puppies. Yuck, that was getting way to sentimental.

Tukutu's head cocked to the side when she winced. What was that for? It was just playful jest, and he knew that she'd only think it 'better for the pack'. He knew that he shouldn't take it too far, but he though he was due for a little payback. So...weird. He tried to shrug it off as she spoke.

"Spawn? Hah, you make 'em sound like fish! Just wait, you'll like one of 'em, I bet. Little bugger'll stick ta ya like a tick."

Tukutu grinned. Ahhh, he could just see it now. How funny that she didn't notice! Most children followed their parents around like little soldiers. How could she not see that? Oh well, he'd let her discover that on her own.

Once again, Mafa rolled her eyes, scoffing ever so lightly,

"Please, don't get carried away, I have no intentions of liking them at all. These pups will not be something to fawn over and become attatched to. They are for the pack, as simple as that"

At least Mafa hoped she wouldn't become attatched to them, just as he hoped she wouldn't become too attatched to Tuk once this was all over. From their first meeting, Mafa had determined that he wasn't the one she was going to fall for, and now, Mafa was sure she wouldn't be falling for anyone at all. What would become of the future troubled Mafa lightly, but she'd work it out somehow.

Tukutu gave Mafa a grunt at her reply, slowly shaking his head, if slowly. What was she thinkin' of, determining already that she wouldn't like any of 'em? WELL. He definately didn't want to be the one to take care of them all the time, he had a lot of sleep to catch up with! Especially if Mafa didn't let him go on his little trek...since all this was brought out, it might be a while, if ever, he went out. Not that he minded too much, 'cause her certainly didn't want to be out for so long just to fail again.

"'Ell then, ah guess we'll just see, eh?"

Mafa sighed, her head drooping lightly, this was a life changing decision, but hopefully, not too drastically life changing. Mafa was absolutely fed up with her life changing and spinning out of control. No, she was in control now, and she always would be.

"Yes, I suppose we will"

The female closed her eyes tight for a moment before opening them again, aqua gaze landing on Tukutu. What had to be done had to be done and with another toss of her head she turned, making her way back to the skull den in which she usually resided. She looked back to Tukutu critically, eyes narrowing and ears pinning back,

"Might as well not delay the inevitable, come for now, and then leave as you so please"

Tukutu paused as he stood up, his ears flicking towards Mafa's skull den, and back against his skull. At her comment...he felt a little guilty at what they had agreed to...but it was an agreement. And no one ever knew what would happen if you didn't try...and besides, she had consented to it..and she was his 'leader' of sorts.
So all in all, Tukutu shrugged to himself and slowly slinked into her den, acting a little more courteous then he usually did to Mafa.
