Saxon was sorting through her books. She had pulled ten of them trying to decide exactly which one she wanted to read next. She ran her hand over the cover of one of her favorites. She could almost tell the story she had read it so many times. She bit her lip. Well, there were others she didn't remember all that well. She picked up one of the less read. There was something to be said about an unknown book... the thrill and excitement of reading something knew. But there was also... something intimate about a book that was your favorite. She pulled the old favorite back into her lap and pulled her legs up on the couch. She meant to only read a page or two... but a few hours later she looked up to see that she had missed dinner once again. She sighed and shook her head. Quill had thought she was fat... maybe it wasn't a big deal that she missed a meal now and then.

Anya had seen the girl reading her book and a look at envy quickly passed over her face as she saw all the books surrounding the girl. She'd thought to talk to her and remind her about meal but she saw the look i n the girl's eyes and feeling a kinship she left the girl in peace and went to dinner. Things seemed well for the first bit but after a while she started to feel uncomfortable. She glanced up and noticed Vonali staring at her and whispering to her companions. She tried to ignore the group but Von's eyes seemed to drill into her forehead so with a squeak she excused herself from her peers and dashed from the room.
She wasn't too early but she knew Von couldn't stare at her in her own common room and other issues aside she felt it was the best place. She gave a start noticing the girl before wasn't reading and she nodded politely thinking perhaps her own bed might be favored at the moment.

Saxon offered a friendly smile. She frowned though. The girl was looking a bit pale. She glanced back down and eartagged the page for later. Sure she had missed dinner but the other girl was back early. And that was a statement, she knew a lot of the hufflepuff girls went to the library after dinner. So she offered a kind look and moved to pat the couch. "I don't bite if you would like to stay down here for a while."
She moved some of her books out of the way. she knew she must look the crazy surrounded by books on top of books. But she liked to read... and she wasn't ashamed of it... unless of course a boy read exactly what she was reading.

Anya's face lit up and she mumbled out a quick thanks. She sat very cautiously away from the girl feeling very awkward. Her eyes skimmed the books before lighting up once again. She pointed excitedly. "Oh that's a good one! Have you read it yet?"
Anya was shy until books came into play, She sometimes felt a bit down that she hadn't been sorted into Ravenclaw but she knew the hat had placed her in the right spot. She hated to be looked at as too smart, her grades were average and she liked them that way no matter how much her parents got on to her about knowing she could do better.

Saxon smiled as she came to sit down. She finished stacking the books and plopped the one she had been reading on top. The book stack fell over and she laughed softly until Anya spoke her eyes looked to the book the other girl was looking at. "Oh yeah... it is good... Ive read it three times i think... This one is better though" She handed the book to her.
She was the same way...average grades and a love of book that over shined the awkwardness of the situations that she ended up in. She on the other hand had no wants to be a ravenclaw. She had C's that she wasn't exactly proud of... but she couldn't care less... C's would get her through... and it was only topics she disliked that she floundered in.
Saxon was going to be a vet of sorts... no need for math and studying ancient ruins... "Sorry i should introduce myself... Im Saxon Seabrooke... "

Anya smiled glad the girl had enjoyed it. She smiled when the girl said she'd read it 3 times. Maybe it was just Anya's brain but she tended to get bored with the book once she'd read it once. So her books rested on her shelves and grew dust til she forgot she'd read it and picked it up a second time. Granted it didn't take her long to remember the story but she did like those reminders. "I heard the next in the series is coming out soon." She held her hands open to receive the book and immediately turned it to the back to read the summary and then the inside flaps. "Oh! This does look good."
Anya had no clue what she w anted to be when she got older, though maybe in a few years she'd have a better grasp. So far she was looking at nurse, like her mother, lawyer, like her father, or an actress. That one made her smile, as if she could get over being shy long enough.
She had started to skim the first few pages when the other girl introduced herself. Blushing slightly having forgotten her manners she smiled. "Nice to meet you Saxon. I'm Charmaine Cummings, but please call me Anya." Her eyes tried to drift back to the book but she held them steady, she really shouldn't be any ruder.

Saxon enjoyed books the first time but she would fall in love with the characters and then have to go revisit them. Saxon lit up at that news. "Really? It got moved up?!" She grinned. "Thats awesome... " She reached for it and ran her hand across the cover. "I met her once... she signed this book for me... " She grinned thinking of the author.
"She liked my name so much she wanted to use the name in one of her books... so now every book that comes out by her i look for a small character to have the name Saxon...." She set the book down. "You can borrow that book if you would like. I have hundreds more in my room."
She smiled. "Nice to meet you Anya." She laughed as the girls eyes went back to the book. "I know that look... " She picked up a book. "I bet i can read this book faster then you can read that one... "

Anya nodded happily. "Yes! Almost by a whole month too! I couldn't believe it. Saving up now so I can get it." She wasn't poor but her father really wasn't amused by anything fiction so for those books she had to wait for a birthday, holiday or save for it. Her eyes widened as Saxon mentioned meeting the author. Anya wouldn't have the guts to talk to someone she felt was so much better than herself. "Was she nice? Oh I bet that was fun."
Hearing the news about the author wanting to use Saxon's name her eyes got even wider. "That is SO cool! Now I'm going to have to keep a look out as well." She gave a chuckle and very well would notice if she came across the name now that she knew someone by that name.
She blushed being caught glancing at the book but it soon turned into a giggle. "You're on!" She tucked up her feet and opened the book a smile going from one side of her face to the other. This was one hell of a way to spend an evening and she loved it.
