(Working backwards, Log from August 200 cool
Vintage sat beside the water, almost sad. She watched as her mice played at the water's edge. Anca and her daughter.... "Am I old enough to have children?" she questioned herself as she looked at her reflection. She didn't feel like an adult... she always felt like a kid....
Jekyll hoped of the lions head and stretched, they'd both just finished a lengthy nap and the site of one of his daughters brought a nod to the little mouse. As the two began to plod off towards the water hole Hyde arched a brow at the absence of his furry friend and rolled over watching the two walk off he couldn't help but sigh. They'd been friends since he was just a child mouse and he already had children... well Hyde had children but not ones he could watch play all day and care for... not a.. family...
Biting his lip he didn't want to ask... but he defiantly didn't want to stay here alone, it was never fun to play on your own or without someone rolling their eyes as you frantically chase inanimate objects, drawing in a deep breath he called out "Hey! you two headed for a swim?" the two mice nodded and carried on their pace.. keeping behind and occasionally attempting to make conversation Hyde followed to the Water hole.
Vintage had laid down beside the water, her tail making small ripples in the water's surface. Quietly she watched the mice play, Anca was so happy.... but she watched as she mouse's ears stiffened and her nose twitch. Squeaking happily she ran on top of Vintage, running little circles. "What is it An-?" She stopped as she watched Jekyll emerge from the reeds and Anca went nuts. She ran over to Jekyll and jumped all over him. "Jekyll...?" Vintage began but immediately she sat up. That ment... "HYDE!!!" she cried as she ran through the reeds, pouncing on the green lion.
Hyde face was one of complete bordem, he kept trying to make jokes or join in with the two mice but since Jekyll had his family he'd be pushed out more and more always on the sidelines. Sure he'd take them for rides or tell them stories but the novelty always wore off...
Just as they approached the reeds that lead to the water hole the two mice darted off giggling and happy as always, Hyde stopped briefly taking long enough to take a sniff of the air, something was familiar, he recognized every scent here... must of been the whole family of mice. That meant... As his ears perked in excitement a heavy object landed on top of him and sent the two rolling, the green male nipping playfully as they came to a stop "You always get me!" He chortles happily.
"Oh Hyde I'm so glad to see you!!" Vintage said with a fit of giggles as she got up from pouncing him, having rolled too. "I was getting so bored! And Anca has her family now and well... I'm just kind of here..." She said with another giggle. She was so happy to see Hyde! Her only friend had come to visit! "Do you want to play Hyde!? Oh please say you'll play with me!!" She fussed as she jumped back and forth.
Jekyll had already rushed to his lady mouse friend and nuzzled her lovingly, his daughter rushing off to play with her siblings.
Hyde however found himself attached to another in a less planned way, every time they met he'd been to slow to predict her pouncing but he didn't mind she was build to be faster or something like that and it was fun. As she spoke images of the recent pending lonely life flooded back and he was quick to nod, not like he needed a reason Vintage was a great playmate and wait... was she a little bigger or.. "I know how you feel...." He let out a brief side before shaking his head and getting back to the now. "You know I'd never turn such a pretty thing like you!" Grinning he eyed her over, yes she was defiantly larger, filled out and wow... Hyde had scowled himself for the dreams that followed their last meeting but now, now he wouldn't feel so bad "Have a growth spurt have we?" Slinking down he waggled his rear and pounced into tag her.
Anca squeaked again and returned the loving gesture. "Are you to stay now? We stay together now?" She asked quietly, her English a little broken as always.
Vintage smiled and if she didn't have such a dark red coat he'd have seen the blush that crept to her cheeks. "So what if I grew a little... you're still just the same size and I can pounce you a little better!" She said with a grin, her eyes suddenly becoming larger as he pounced to tag her. As he caught her she turned on the instance to tag him bag with her tail, slapping it against his shoulder, but not in a painful way. "You can't catch me!" She called with another fit of laughter as she ran forward, heading towards the water.
Looking back Jekyll couldn't give her a straight answer he owed the goofball lion a lot and though the time he spend with him was reduced dramatically since the little ones arrived he couldn't quite bring himself to leave completely.. shaking his head he sighed "I cannot M'lady... He'll be lost without me, he has not got what we have" scrunching up his nose he hated to do this, he was ready to stay and see the rest of his days with his new family but not till he was settled about Hyde's situation.
"Nu Uh I worked out!" Hyde lied... he didn't work out he played with Jekyll.. or on his own and that hardly lasted long before he'd get bored and laze about. He went to flex as he turned to run and found himself flailing slighly as the tail whacked him "Ouf! Hey, cheater!" Hyde was already turning to chase "Oh yes I will!" He hoped anyway, at least she was headed to a funner place, the water! It had been aaages since he had a good water play and if she kept up this speed he was going to need to cool off after. With his tongue half handing out of his mouth Hyde chased as best he could but couldn't quite catch her with his paw to tag soo close yet so far....
Anca had been hopeful but she sighed a little mouse sigh and nodded. "Anca and Alina can wait... but Jekky must hurry?" She said with a smile and nosed him.
Vintage laughed wildly as she ran towards the water, just before the waters edge a rock caught her foot and tripped her, stopping her immediately. "OOF!" She grunted as she tumbled to the ground...
Jekyll bowed his head, he really did want to join them but if only Hyde would find some happiness..."What Hyde needs is a friend like Anca to Jekyll... but who would take the goofball?" Jekyll's eyes rolled as he put on his thinking face and almost gave up all hope until...
Seeing Vintage flail showed him some perfect opportunity Hyde grinned as he began to skid to a stop onto to trip on a rock himself sending him flailing into Vintage and the both of them landing with a large *SPLASH* in the water hole. Re-surfacing Hyde looked around with a slight panic "Vintage? Vintage! You a'ight gal?" he wouldn't worry but regardless of her growth he was still heavier.... Ducking his head under the water he began to search for his blush coloured friend.
A grin appeared on the little houses mouth, those two sure got along... almost as well as the two mice, if only he could devise a way to give them a little nudge... tuning back to Anca he grinned a wicked grin and whispered "We need a plan!"
Anca smiled, "Jekky has plan to stay?" She said excitedly as she ran a couple circles around him. "Stay with Anca-love?" Her accent began to flow over her words and she spoke a string of Romainian as she ran around him.
Vintage got wide-eyed as Hyde came crashing into her, pushing them both into the water. As she had been pushed she took a deep breath and hurried towards the bottom of the water. She watched as Hyde scrambled around trying to find her, as he went back under the water she hurried to the surface and pulled herself out. She'd wait until his head broke the surface again before flying straight at him again with a loud screech, "AAAAIIIIEEEEEE!!!!"
"Yes my sweet little angel, but I shall need your help... What we need to do is get those two a little more friendly...." He smiled and nuzzled her cheek "Then Jekyll can stay and Hyde and Vintage will be cured of the dreaded lonely bug!"
Just as Hyde was about to re-surface he looked up only to be met by VIntage once again, she was a quick one, he'd never have the upper hand around her and he liked it, a suitable play mate compared to his little Jekyll. "Oh cra..." Before he could finish he'd well and truly been tackled down into the water with a burbled "Tawg" he pushed off her and darted away as quickly as he could but it wasn't long before he'd need air... he'd have to throw her off, Ah-ha! The sandy bed of the water hole would supply good enough distraction so paddling down he kicked up a fuss and sprung up for air. Strange that feeling you get... when time seems to stop waiting for something to happen and your in a vague recollection that some when. some how, you'd done this before...
"Lonely bug!" Anca agreed and ran a couple more circles around him. "We smash that bug!"
Vintage was after him in a second after she had been tagged. She searched the water quickly and found that she didn't have the breath to continue the search and that he probably wasn't in there. Making a mad dash to the surface, her head broke first and she swam quickly to the edge. She was distracted only for a short time by the mice. Adverting her gaze she was on the look out for the big game. "Oh Hyyyyyyde...." She called, her voice almost singing as she looked for him from the water's edge.
Jekyll nodded "Yes, Yes we will!" He loved seeing his beautiful mouse friend, she was such a pleasure to be around and always so enthusiastic and quick to agree to his thoughts.
With a turn of his head he spotted Vintage emerging, and ducked his head back down, there it was he was back in reality the feeling of deju vu dissipating and leaving nothing more than a slightly numbness in his brain after such a weird feeling. With quick pushes he made his way up and out and crept around the water hole headed back for the reeds the mice looking at him and giggling but with a silent gesture they mostly seemed to cease and he was almost home free right up untill...
A grumbling in his belly made itself known almost as loud as his own roar... something was feeling empty, freezing on the spot he started straight towards Vintage and prayed she'd not heard the beast like hunger cry.
The pit of Jekyll's stomach felt a familiar feeling though not for hunger, more towards the feeling that this was going to be a challenge and his future with friends or family depended on it "though how... I really don't know..." He mumbled quietly trying to muse towards an answer.
Vintage had been as unmoving as a statue, her sharp eyes looking for the change in the grass but the slight distraction from the mice had given Hyde his window of opportunity to creep behind her. He could have easily gotten away had his stomach not growled in portest. With a smirk Vintage spun, almost looking like she was trying to catch her tail, and jumped towards Hyde. "GOT YOU!" She hollered as she jumped towards him again.
Anca rolled the thought over and over in her mind. "When Jekky met Anca... he brought safety... can Hyde bring Vintage safety?" She questioned, eyeing her lioness and the green lion.
