001. New Beginnings
An escape was exactly was the Prince desired somewhere inside. It floated out of his small mind sometimes as he jumped to a new lilly pad for better view of a pretty lotus flower. He felt it deep in his heart when he remembered what happened, only before forgetting, for he had to lick his dark bead eyes to clean them.
For only a moment in his frog brain would he see glimmers of light of memories such as his crown encased in glass for when his father passed and he became King. The frog Prince thought of this sometimes yet could only prioritize his chores in the pond. He was losing the glimmers of memories; his mother's eyes, the Crown, the ballroom floor, Princesses' tiaras, and he slowly replaced them with the shine on the pond surface. This is where he lives now.
In a kingdom not so far from this pond, a mother cries as no news arises of her boy. A Prince he may be, but she kept an eye over him. Even as he was cared for by a royal nurse, insisted by tradition, the mother would speak soothingly to him, her Queen titled temporally put aside. The King pushing the boy to be a fierce, fearless leader while the Queen shyly mothered and they both kept their sides. The boy could care but the boy could reign. Ever since a wizard visited, the boy could only croak.
One morning he startled to hands closing around him, lifting him up and he let out ribbits of panic.
"Quiet my prince, we must go on a journey," said the hands "might you know the cure?" A sweet steady voice, the hands had. He pressed up to the hand, desperately wishing he could leap with no block above him. The hands maneuvered him until the thumbs supported his belly and he could see the masked person. He stopped his noise and observed an animal mask crafted of white canvas, adorned with gems, a spiral horn forth from the forehead, and a white fur collar.
"Hello my prince, no worries I command of you, I will set you free."

002. Cause/Effect
Sitting nowadays in a quiet broken home she had rather had been killed by a bear. Losing a golden ball may lead one to a pond. Upon such a pond could be secrets. Like an obnoxious frog. Pleas to sit at the child's dinner table and dine with her, begging her to kiss him, promising her riches. Rotten frog. Thief, liar, scum-
She was still mad.
"Such a selfish girl, for goodness sake, share with him!" her father would scold "Be him beggar or prince, be kind."
She scrunched up her nose at the memory. Poor pa. Perhaps the next time a Prince was punished by a warlock she'd volunteer immediately to change them back so other girls weren't put through such nonsense. Especially if their frog were not a prince.
