Though not having any of the appropriated attire suited to be the Squad 2 Captain, Tomoyo wields an iron fist over the members of her squad. Inside the Office, there are no chairs or windows. The only items besides the floor that are present, are the two torches on either side of Tomoyo and the small desk in which she performs her paperwork. It is noticeably dark in her office to which she actually prefers it to extreme light. It can also be noted that it is very cold in the office. This is not because the air condition is up to high but because of Tomoyo's excess spiritual pressure leaking from her body. It has been dubbed by other members of Squad Two, "The Frozen Throne." Everyone that is to enter is expected to kneel, which she is sitting cross legged on the floor, through Genuflection.

"There's an art to winning and loosing."Tomoyo Samurakami.  A captain shrouded in mystery who, though you couldn't tell by looking, was one of the most powerful shinigami in the Seretei...or at least that's what Xero had heard. Despite his status, he'd never actually "met" her. Sure he'd briefly talked with her, but that was only when he was getting promoted or getting orders. He'd never actually been able to sit down and have an actual conversation or anything like that.
So why did Xero choose today to actually talk face to face? Two words: Grand Meeting. It would be held later that day, so Xero thought it would be better if he went in actually knowing something about his captain. He was a lieutenant, after all, so he was supposed to be closer to Tomoyo than anyone else. Luckily, though, Xero knew just how to get her to open up...or at least do something besides order him around.
"Let's just hope he didn't lie to me," Xero thought. After a bit of mental preparation- he had to make sure he had a contingency plan- Xero opened the office door, to be met with a rush of cold air. Sure he'd been told it was cold, but he didn't know it would be that cold. "It's like freakin' Christmas in here! How do you survive in this?" And it didn't stop there.
The room was pitch black, with only two torches providing light, and not a single window. But what surprised Xero even more was the fact that the place seemed completely empty, save for a single desk. "Wonder what she does in this empty place all day," Xero thought. "If I were her I'd be bored out of my mind." Xero couldn't even imagine living like Tomoyo. Actions: Entering Tomoyo's office

"There's an art to winning and loosing." As it turned out, the closer Xero went to Tomoyo, the colder it seemed to get. Assuming the captain was in the coldest part of the room, Xero stopped a few feet from her desk. As close as he was, though, he had to untie one of his ribbons to use as a scarf. "When you can start seeing your breath, it's time to turn up the heat. Or maybe she just doesn't want to pay for a heater." The only explanation Xero got for this was "I adore the cold." "Wonder how she deals with heat waves."
Smiling at the thought, Xero's attention went back to Tomoyo, who wasn't even looking at him. How she saw him staring...Xero had no idea. But that didn't really matter. What did matter was that it was time for him to apply his master plan.
"Well maybe I could sit here watching...but I've come here with one goal in mind." Kneeling so that he wouldn't instantly get on her bad side, Xero brought his hands from behind his back, placing an item on his lap. "I'm gonna get you to say words...with THIS!" Raising the object into the air, it was revealed to be a flat box. "Word says that you're Japanese. And a little birdy told me you like...board games." Pausing for dramatic effect, Xero flipped the box over to show off the cover.
"Have you ever heard of...Shogi? 'Course you have, you're Japanese. You know what I'm getting at here don't you? I'm sure we've got time before that meeting..." Actions: Challenging Tomoyo
Thoughts: So we'll be late. Who cares?

"There's an art to winning and loosing." A smirk grew on the face of Xero when Tomoyo accepted the challenge. It was a small victory, but a victory nonetheless. That brought him to step 2 of his plan: lasting longer than 1 round in Shogi. See, the "little birdy" only told him the rules of Shogi. Xero had no prior experience in Shogi and hadn't even bothered getting any practice in. And now he was facing off with someone who probably had years of experience. All he could hope for was surviving. He'd take back the win after he had more experience with board games.
"I'll just wing it," Xero thought. "If I'm lucky, she'll end up overestimate me. It worked with Tsubasa so it should work with her." Nodding at the thought, Xero finally noticed the smile on the face of the captain. That was definitely a first. "So there is a soul in that body of yours." Cracking his knuckles in preparation, Xero let Tomoyo set up the game, since it would have probably taken him longer to do it.
When Tomoyo talked of her victory over the head Captain, Xero simply said "If I tried, I could probably beat Tennyou too. I am a great strategist afterall." It was an obvious lie, but Tomoyo didn't have to know that. And considering his experience with other board games, she probably wouldn't be able to tell. Or at least he hoped she wouldn't. Considering her hawk-eyes trained on him, he felt doubtful she'd miss something that obvious.
Despite his inexperience, Xero was the first to move so as not to draw suspicion. "If it's anything like chess then it shouldn't be too hard," Xero thought. So he decided to go with his chess strategy, though it was modified for the Shogi rules. Moving a single pawn forward, Xero folded his arms and nodded like he'd just did something important. But all he did was set up a pawn to be sacrificed. "And with that I've sealed your fate." Actions: Making the first move
Thoughts: Shogi is just japanese chess, right?

With the sound of thunder Noroi appeared within the captain's office and sighed as she was aggravated at what she saw. There was a mass meeting going on and the captain was playing a game with her lieutenant. "Please tell me you're kidding me Samurakami. There's a meeting going on about what we need to do next. We need to be there." She spoke as she looked to the lieutenant and shook her head in annoyance. The kind hearted girl that was known before regaining her arm quickly vanished with the training Captain Samurakami put her through. Forcing her to become even deadlier than that captain if the training was working.

"There's an art to winning and loosing." Xero knew that he wouldn't win against the captain in shogi. Losing was part of the plan. He was only using the game to break down Tomoyo's defenses. As he stated when he pulled out the board, he was going to get her to actually talk. That was the main goal.
Unfortunately, Xero hadn't counted on one thing: interference. Because of Tomoyo's love of board games, he assumed that any interruption would be met with a quick and/or severe beating. So when an unknown shinigami made a sudden appearance, Xero expected an immediate attack. When one didn't come, though, he let out a small sigh of relief.
Turning to the newcomer, Xero said sarcastically, "Well nice to meet you too." Xero was a bit surprised that the newcomer didn't freeze in the cold instantly, but he assumed she must have liked the cold just like Tomoyo. "For your information," he continued, "this board game was my idea. Call it...practice, why don't you. As for that big bad meeting...Showing up late's no big deal." Shrugging casually, Xero looked to the Captain to see if she wanted to keep going or head to the council room.

Thoughts: And my plan was just getting started...

Her eyes narrowed as it wasn't Samurakami that greeted her first but the lieutenant and he did so in a sarcastic manner. "I don't care who's idea it was and that big bad meeting was set up by the head captain. Being late would only show that you really don't care about the head captain's orders. That's a boat you'd rather not sail in." She spoke as she was starting to get more aggravated with this new lieutenant. "Samurakami we need to go now. She's expecting us at the moment. Or rather she's expecting you since she saw I was the first there." She spoke with honesty as being on time was one of her pet peeves.

Noroi listened to Samurakami and sighed as she was agreeing with the lieutenant at first. She was getting even more aggravated and sighed heavily turning around finding them to be a lost cause until she felt an arm go around her waist and Samurakami whisper into her ear. "Calling you by your family name is a sign of respect." She said as she then disappeared with the loud roar of thunder. She was back at her original seat within the royal council room.

Considering the intrusion of the girl, who the captain called Noroi, coupled with the threat of angering the head captain, Xero expected Tomoyo to immediately vote for going straight to the meeting. She did of course, but beforehand, she surprised Xero by agreeing to his concept of shogi. Considering the rules rules rules person she was supposed to be, even having her accept the concept came as a shock. Then again, it shouldn't have been that big of a surprise. She did agree to the board game even knowing that the meeting was right around the corner. Or maybe she just accepted because she was confident she could beat Xero before they had to leave and STILL be early. Xero quickly put the latter idea out of his mind. She wasn't that cocky...was she?
Looking back to Noroi, Xero simply groaned as she continued to push for them to leave. Sure getting on the captain's bad side was a bad thing, but he wasn't in too much of a hurry to go flying towards a boring meeting either. He was about to say that out loud when Tomoyo drew his attention, calling the game to an abrupt end for the time being. She was just as scared of the captain as Noroi. Though could you really blame her? This was the strongest woman in the Seretei they were talking about. In fact, she was the strongest person anywhere...at least that Xero knew of.
Getting up, with a little unneeded but not entirely unwanted help from Tomoyo, Xero looked back to Noroi with an expression that said "are you happy now?" It might have given off the wrong impression, but what did that matter. What did matter was the way the captain seemed to act around Noroi. She was much too "friendly" towards this woman Xero had never seen before. It was definitely worth looking into, if only to find out a little something about Tomoyo. Speaking of which, Xero was already putting plan B into action.
Watching the females leave, Xero left with a casual stroll. He was in no hurry whatsoever to get to the meeting. He'd even make a pit stop on the way there just because he could.

Thoughts: Well at least I'm out of the cold now
