Weapon(s): An unusual and nasty looking sword which also functions as a whip (pictured above). Yin calls it her 'demon fang' because that is what it reminds her of. Its true name is Aeza. A switch on the handle enables her to loosen or tighten the connections between each bladed section using magic, resulting in the weapon changing from sword to whip and vice versa. Fire can be also channeled through the weapon via the gems that are embedded in each section, allowing Yin to direct the spell better. An odd side effect of this is that it turns the fire slightly pink in colour. When Aeza is in sword form it has a slightly serrated edge due to the overlapping sections. The metal is light in weight so that Yin can easily control its motions through the air when in whip form. She also carries a dagger at her waist as an emergency in case someone gets past her whip before she can draw it back to sword form.
Biography: Yin was born and raised in Galbadia to parents who worked for Galbadia Garden as scientists and engineers, studying all sorts of things such as Guardian Forces and developing weapons and other things. Initially her parents were too wrapped up in their work to really pay much attention to her, but one day her father found himself in need of a test subject for one of his experiments and he could get no one to volunteer, so he decided to use his 8 year old daughter. The experiment was very dangerous and Yin was very scared, but she wanted her parents attention and love and so went along willingly. Her parents had been mostly working separately for a few years now so her mother had no idea of what was going on until she walked in halfway through the experiment. She was horrified to see her husband using their child in a potentially deadly experiment and realised that in these past few years his work had sent him insane. In a spur of the moment decision she grabbed the nearest sharp object and killed him before freeing a traumatised Yin. Knowing that she would probably face the death penalty for killing one of Galbadia's most valuable scientists, and also that Yin would not be safe there with no one else to care for her, she took Yin back to their home and grabbed a few things before fleeing the Garden in disguise.
As they left a soldier attempted to stop them and once again Yin's mother was forced to kill, despite being just a simple scientist and not a fighter. The soldier was taken by surprise which was the only way she managed to do it, but not before taking an injury which would later be fatal. She knew she didn't have time to take care of it though so she continued regardless, bearing with the pain. They headed to Winhill where Yin's grandmother lived, and who was surprised at their sudden arrival in the middle of the night. She took them in and tried to help Yin's mother but it was too late. Yin held her mother's hand as she passed away and blamed herself for what had happened. It took her a long time to mentally and emotionally recover from everything and to get used to her new life with her grandmother. It helped that her grandmother was a very kind lady who loved Yin deeply. She was very old, however, and eventually she too passed away. For a year or so after that Yin lived alone, struggling to find a reason to keep living when everyone she loved was dead. With no one left it was around this time that Aethusa appeared to her, giving her comfort and companionship when she needed it the most. The two formed a close bond and Yin eventually decided that she wouldn't live her life alone and scared and helpless. Yin turned to Winhill Garden, becoming a student there and hoping to find friends and a new sense of family. She also hoped for the day when she could pay back Galbadia for their role in her parent's deaths.

Attire: Yin appears to have grown out of her previous style and now tends to wear more feminine, 'mature' clothes. Typically she favours short, tight fitting dresses in an array of colours, along with her sturdy black boots, black lacey stockings and an eye patch to hide her pink eye. She also wears a flower hairpin.
Mental Characteristics
Personality: Yin can come across as kind of an oddball with her mannerisms and generally quirky personality. She is cheerful and optimistic by nature but you might not guess that by how childlike she acts sometimes, and the fact that she likes to complain about things and be dramatic. To others it looks like she bounces from one end of the behavioral spectrum to the other in an instant, and at random. She is rarely unhappy or worried though and doesn't seem to fear anything. She is also easily distracted with trivial things and can seem like she is spacing out at times, when really she is just thinking about something pointless and amusing. Similarly she can also get excited, even obsessed, about strange things that other people might think are silly. Despite being pretty good about keeping fit and active she does like to relax and during her "relaxing time" she is pretty lazy and will often refuse to do much of anything. When most people get to know her they realise that there is more to the oddball than meets the eye, and that she actually has a very big heart. She is inherently kind, being friendly and accepting towards others (albeit with sarcasm and teasing), and she is forgiving.

Talent/Skills: Yin trained in gymnastics from an early age and so her main skill is being flexible, fast and precise in her movements, which she incorporates into her fighting style.
Battle Overview: Yin is very focused and determined when it comes to a fight, and although she can seem like she acts carelessly she actually takes it very seriously. She hates to lose and will often go to extreme lengths to win, even to the point of losing sight of her other objectives. She has a good deal of stamina and so is capable of fighting for longer than most. Yin favours speed and precision over brute strength and is very light and quick on her feet, dodging and striking using her weapon rather than engaging in direct combat most of the time. She often fights with one of her GF's by her side and is rarely seen without one.
Limit Breaks:
Demon Dance - Yin uses fire magic to create creatures ( "demons" ) in a variety of forms which will attack and overwhelm her opponent. These can also explode at whim, and on Yin's orders.
'I call forth the beasts of Hell, come to my aid! Arise and tear down my enemy! Demon Dance!'
Dragon Judgement - Driving the blade of her sword into the ground, Yin channels fire magic to burst out of the area around her opponent and strike down at them repeatedly in a swirling torrent of fire.
"Ancient fire, bring forth your justice! Dragon Judgement!"
Hellfire Wave - With a horizontal slash of her sword, Yin can send a huge wave of fire tearing across the battlefield, incinerating everything in its path and scorching the ground.
"Let this land burn bright and purge the wicked of their sins! Hellfire Wave!"
Falling Fire of Sunset - Exactly as it sounds, Yin uses her sword to hurl a massive blast of pink fire into the air, where it then bursts and rains down fireballs from above at the enemy, each one exploding as it hits the ground and catching everything around it on fire, the flames of which can't be extinguished unless Yin is either knocked out, killed, or ends the attack.
"Divine fury of Heaven and Hell, let your light rain down upon the land and end all things! Falling Fire of Sunset!"
Heart Flame - This limit break is dependent upon Yin having a strong emotional connection to the other person. When someone she cares deeply for is killed or fatally injured she can channel all of her magic and remaining life energy into her hands, via fire magic, and places it upon the chest of the aforementioned individual where it will sink into their body and revive them. The effect on Yin is immediate death.
"With all that I have left, I offer my life for that of yours, beloved one. Take my heart flame and return to this world."

Attack: A mostly long range fighting GF, Aethusa can breathe blue coloured fire and usually forms them into balls of flame which he sends hurtling towards the enemy. He can also fight close range, however, using his claws to attack the enemy as well as his sharp beak. When fighting larger enemies (such as other GF's) he will dart around them, striking quickly and randomly.
Final Attack: Eternity Blast - A dense ball of blue fire magic forms at the tip of his horn, between his antlers, growing in size until it is released in the direction of an enemy. Causes a massive explosion.

Personality
Aethusa doesn't have a lot of confidence and is almost constantly nervous or worried about something. He cares deeply for Yin and would do anything for her, which is the only thing that gives him the resolve to fight. Like a dog he tends to follow at Yin's heels all the time and will cower when others approach.

Attack: Ebi is a support GF and so does not have any actual attacks. Instead she uses magic to cast spells that aid Yin in battle ( Life, Shell, Protect, Regen, Haste ).
Final Attack: Feather Flight - Ebi flies over the battlefield and scatters black feathers, which float down and heal anyone they touch, disappearing.

Ebi is for the most part reserved and obedient and rarely talks. As a support and healing GF she has a kind personality and becomes distressed when Yin or her allies are hurt or in danger.
