Once upon a time, our guild held monthly fan fiction contests. But these were impractical for the guild and quickly died. Now, instead, we are posting monthly prompts for your creative leisure. These prompts are not contests, you are not competing against you fellow guildies. There is not prize. They're just short little blurbs to try and stir up a bit of inspiration, or offer a challenge. Monthly Prompt - July 2013: [ One character fries an egg in the sun. Another character eats it. ]

I apologize for any name misspellings wink
"Come one, egg, come on!" Sokka said, squatting next to a rock. "Sokka, just use a pan." Katara said. He had been doing this for over a half an hour, and the others had already eaten. "No! This is gonna work." Sokka's face was pure concentration. "Well, you have fun with that, the rest of us are going to go swimming. Sokka barely heard what she said, giving her a wave of the hand. The sun had been on the egg for a few minutes now, and any minute it was going to cook. Any minute... *pop pop* Sokka squealed. *sizzle sizzleeee pop* Sokka ran to get a plate, extremely proud of himself. When Team Avatar go stuck in a forest with nothing to cook with but a rock, they would beg him for help, and he would love it. He turned around, but stopped. Sitting on top of the rock was Momo, looking down at the egg. "Momo, please. Momo don't." Sokka said. Momo looked at him, turned his head, then looked down at the egg. "Momo, buddy, please. I'll go get you some nice berries right now. How does that sound, huh?" Momo reached for the egg. "Momo, NO!" Momo grabbed the egg and plopped it into his mouth. Sokka fell to his knees, devastated. He would never forgive Momo. Never.

He would never forgive Momo. Never. This was so cute and in-character! I could really see this happening in the series! Katara's character was a little flat in the beginning, but that's okay since the story wasn't about her. Sokka's character was spot-on perfect! And Momo behaved so beautifully. They played off each other just like they did in the series. My only critique is not with the story itself, but rather the format. You have the entire drabble condensed into one paragraph. But you have dialogue from two separate people and actions from three. Every time you switch the person who's speaking, you must begin a new line. (As shown in by very quick edit of your story quoted above.) The same rule can apply to actions, since Momo is a non-speaking character.

Kinda Mature...
Soul lay down, basking in the sunlight. It was a hot, humid day and he was taking in every bit of sunlight he could get without burning to a crisp like the albino boy he was. That would be uncool.
Next to him lay Maka, reading a book - as always. Pft, uncool.
Soul looked around and noticed Kidd laying alone. He seemed to be sleeping, so Soul figured it wouldbe uncool of him to interrupt.
He decided to amuse himself. He went to the food stand and asked for a raw chicken egg. The tender raised his eyebrow but said nothing, handing him the egg as Soul handed him the 50 cents.
Soul went back to his spot, raised the egg, stuck his finger in it, and cracked it - on his stomach. Maka looked up from her book, shrugged, and went back to her reading. Soul sighed, resting.
Several hours later
Who knew it took so long to cook an egg in the sun? Soul thought to himself. Kidd had gotten up, and sat down next to him. The egg slowly cooked and Kidd grinned. He grabbed a knife from heaven knows where, and slowly cut the egg apart - while it was still on Soul's stomach. Soul shivered and Kidd stuck the knife in his mouth, eating the egg and letting the yolk dribble slightly down his chin.
Yep, Soul thought, this was the coolest idea ever.
