Kalteth said to Syriacuth cheerfully. She didn't understand why Syriacuth had growled, but she was over it now because PICTURES and because thats just how she was. They were very nice pictures. Shenja was sort of curious as to how a picture of Kalteth would come out. Actually... he'd never seen a drawing in progress before, certainly not right in front of him. This would be interesting. Now that he asked the question, he felt a little stupid. After all, he had recognized a few of the faces in the pictures and... Oh yeah, Kalteth's egg. He'd have to ask for a copy of that. It had been such a surprise... Speaking of, he needed to find a way to contact Diedre. He needed to make sure things were going to be okay with her. But that could come later. He filed it away. He was impressed, generally, at the whole thing. "Sure, I won't tell!" Said Kalteth to Syriacuth. Yay secrets! Secrets were fun too! "And I think we'd both like that." he could get the paints, oh yes. He might get yelled at... if he was caught. "Do you want them now?" He could totally slip away from his chores and grab a few colors. And he'd put them back. And nobody would ever need to know. Kalteth said, curious. She was not a sneaky dragon, but the ideas in her bonded's head sounded fun. he admitted, smiling mischeviously.

After all I still have to draw her out." He took his book back and flipped to a clean page and pulled out the writing utensil he kept hidden under his pillow so he could draw when he was bored. "Do you want me to draw her now? It might take a while, like a few hours maybe? I don't want to take up your time especially since you're supposed to be doing chores." He looked at the forgotten mop and bucket.

Oh. Right. Chores. Booooring. He frowned almost comically at the mop and bucket. "We could do our cleaning and then get back to you with the paints..." Cleaning would be boring, but it might help them get to the paints. Actually, it could be fun, if he let it be fun. He could make a game out of cleaning, after all, and there was Kalteth to play it with. "It takes that long for a picture?" he wasn't sure if he was expecting shorter or longer. He honestly had no idea how it worked, and either way was still impressed. "How do you, uh, capture things in motion, then?" some of the pictures in the sketchbook had been of people doing things, and Sh'en couldn't believe that they had stayed completely still for hours. said Kalteth, she looked back at Syriacuth,

"Things in motion usually I'm just really paying attention to them." He shrugged. "Plus I then I get to look at them from all angles if they're moving all around." He smiled and looked at Kalteth, she was really pretty and he tilted his head. "It sometimes takes a long time for a picture yea but I don't have to make you stay that long." He was already starting to sketch when Syriacuth answered Kalteth, "I have no idea how mine does it. his mind is just pictures sometimes." He shrugged as best a dragon with a broken wing could and twitched his tail. "What's does yours's mind look like?"

"...huh." all angles? "So what do you want me to do? I could mop in here...?" though considering blue Syraicuth's response to him getting too close, Sh'en wasn't sure that was a good idea. "Or I could pose?" ohhhhh he liked that idea! Posing and prancing was one of his favorite things! "Or I could do another trick!" that was probably the best of the three, in his opinion. Kalteth hadn't really thought about what Sh'en's mind looked like. She scrutinized him for a moment before turning slowly and thoughtfully back to Syriacuth. she started slowly, she tapped a claw, slightly frustrated at how the description simply wouldn't gel. she said finally, she tapped her tail and laughed, a fluttery little mental laugh, Sh'en agreed, giving Kalteth a scritch on the head.

He smiled, "Posing can work fine. I can get a rough sctech out and you can go back to work and finish mopping? Then I should be able to give you a nice picture." He said as he flipped to a new page and pulled out the pencil he used to draw with. "So go ahead and pick your post." R'an looked back up at Sh'en instensely before hearing a snort from Syriacuth. He blushed. "Sorry I might look alittle weird when i'm drawing. I tend to concentrate and Syria said that I look like I'm angry." He said with a laugh. Syriacuth seemed to have settled himself down for now and tilted his head at Kalteth's words. "Moving parts?" It sounded like he was some kind of machine. Maybe that's what other human's minds look like. "I prefer mine's thoughts, they're full of pictures but they show me things I haven't seen yet."

Kalteth thought that was neat! she asked her rider, eyes whirling happily. Not that she wanted his mind to change, really. said Sh'en lovingly. "You don't look strange." said Sh'en, moving into a pose he liked. It was arrogant, but just enough so to be amusing. He was, of course, still trying to entertain, even though his life had been supplanted.... by a dragon that he didn't regret. "You just look focused. My sister gets that look sometimes when shes puzzling something out." he fixed his posture, easing into something he could hold a bit longer, "And I know my face gets all creased up when I'm working on a new acrobatic trick. I don't even notice it until later."
Kalteth squinted playfully. she commented to Sh'en and Syriacuth,
said Sh'en and his dragon giggled. His expression didn't change, but he did blush a bit.
she said. But he did make a funny face that one time when the food had made his stomach hurt and...
Sh'en really didn't want to remember that... unfortunate... affair. He said, hoping to distract the easily distractable dragon.
said Kalteth, quickly forgetting what she had been talking about. Asking Syria something was a great idea!

R'an smiled, "Good to know I'm not the only determined one out there." He chuckled and began to draw, looking up frequently as his hand moved fast over the paper. It was so much easier than drawing on a slate and there was so much more detail you could get out of paper than you could out of the stone or wax that he had to use up at Bitra when he had time to draw. As he was sketching, Syriacuth was watching Sh'en and Kalteth both with an almost complete boredom, he didn't want them to get too close but at the same time he wanted more activity, he really had nothing to do for the rest of the day while he healed. When Kalteth commented on her rider's face, he nodded , 'R'an looks the same when he draws.' He said as he shifted, R'an gave him a playful look and poked his dragon's tail with his blanket covered foot before going back to the drawing. When the green cut off her thought he chuckled and watched her and hermine bicker silently. A favorite color? Syriacuth didn't pay much attention to colors more so than what he was and that Kalteth was Green and Gold was the biggest color and that Green and Gold and Red's needed to be higher above everyone else. He growled in slight frustration. 'I don't know. What is yours?" He aske,d maybe he would get an idea from her?

Sh'en chuckled. "And you should meet my cousin Ulir. His face is always like that." The dolphineer was really just too serious, not a moment of levity. In fact, Sh'en didn't think that the man had ever cracked a smile. Technically he wasn't his cousin - he was his half-brother's older half-brother and they had no blood, but blood-kin and heart kin were pretty basically the same to Sh'en. Traders were a family, no matter what blood you shared, so it just made sense that Ulir was also family. Besides, Diedre liked him. Kalteth was not able to hold a pose. She tried, but she kept wiggling and shifting and, well, bouncing a little. Kalteth was not the sort of dragon to ever stay still - a terrible model. she chirped back, laughing. actually she liked slightly darker greens, not that her light marbled coloring wasn't absolutely wonderful. "Not that theres anything wrong with green..." Sh'en took a deep breath and fixed his pose. He needed to practice his body exercizes more, keep himself limber. Taking care of Kalteth was a lot of time, but he did want to still be acrobatic. He'd have to practice his jokes too. "But I like... red. And blue." Kalteth teased. "I like you." said Sh'en smirking, "Theres not really a color I don't like."Kalteth giggled. she asked, drawing on a thought she caught in her rider's head,
