~PEACE OF MIND~
I sat at the dock,
a smooth rock in my hand.
I rubbed the texture
of it with my thumb.
Then, I tossed it
into the water.
The rock
submerged
into the
glittering water,
leaving ripples
where it penetrated.
The violet glow
underneath the water
blurred where the
rock hit, but
soon regained its
clarity.
It's so nice.
It's so peaceful.
The young grass,
the periwinkle petals
falling from the
wisteria tree,
the wavering
liquid-like
sky above me...
It's such a lie.
It's such a joke.
