Ren sneered at the scroll and then a puzzled look to Kumori. "Why would you want a bunch of some old dusty knights? I am sure there are knights around the world with those kinds of magic powers. Hell I am technically a knight with fire powers so you already found one!" Ren said while chukling at his own stupid joke (If that was even classed as a joke). "I'm pretty sure you would want to go after a rare ability or ascend into becoming a sage rank warrior or even a god" Ren said while picking up the flagon of ale the barman had placed next to him. Without looking he slipped his hand into his pocket and received a few gold pieces which he put on the counter. "What is your motive for seeking such people? And what will you gain from it?," Ren asked, curious to what Kumori was planning. Ren knew a man like Kumori would inevitably grow stronger, maybe this was the next step required somehow.

    RPC Name: Ren
    RPC Rank: Expert
    RPC Class: Knight
      RPC Sub-Class: Shadow-Knight

    Weapon Name: Serpentine
    Weapon Rank: A
    Weapon Type: Chain and sickle
    Weapon Description:

    User Image

An intricately designed sickle measuring 4 feet, it has 1 main blade and 7 smaller blades attacked to the main body of the weapon. The chain is made up of bladed segments, when if it first recalled by the wielder it measures from blade to mace at 12 ft. The mace on the end is smaller but more heavy as it is used as a blunt weapon. The wielder places their own dark aura into the weapon so they can control its movements, leting it fly through the air like a snake.

    Weapon Passive Abilities:

      • Puppet Master [ C ] The wielder after summoning this weapon can control its movements without even touching it. At first the wielder has to use their hands to control the movements but after a while the wielder can just use their eyesight and mind to control this weapon.

      • Mental Poison [ A ] Those who are cut by the chain or the blade will be poisoned by the weapon. The poison seeps into the nerve system and into the brain where it will gradually mentally haunt the target. Making then see monsters that are not there and seeing all kinds of illusions. Those who are healed by a cleric or templar can be saved aswell as bloodlines who can negate negative effects.

      • Hungry Python [ B ] When this weapon tastes blood, it will grow with each cut inflicted by one chain segment. The length resets after each battle and its length does not hinder it.

    Weapon Activated Abilities:

      • Cover yourself up! [ C-A ] The weapon flies around the wielder forming a shield to protect the wielder from incoming projectiles and attacks. The wielder must spend energy equivalent to the attack they are being protected from.

      • Snake Fangs [ B ] The blade lights up and grows double its size. The poison it exerts is more potent while this ability is active aswell. This move can not be used at the same time as any other ability that is not a passive.

      • Becoming one with the boulder [ C ] A tricky ability to use in battle but it allows the weapon to do more damage. The weight of the blade increases dramatically and is usually used when it is above the enemy. The blade can no longer fly through the air until this move is deactivated

Aint-Mage Revolt: All magical (whether holy, class, elemental, etc) magic does one rank of reduced damage to you. Your machines/summons/etc will receive about half of this bonus, taking fairly reduced damage from all magic.

• Superior technology to all other races. Your custom weapons are something out of sci-fi; your guns can shoot laser rounds, gauntlets can send magnetic or electric shockwaves, etc. Humans of the mechanist class will have highly advanced machines, often capable of force-fields and similar technological feats. These technological advancements can be applied to any class, not just mechanists; weapon users have almost science fiction level weaponry, necromancers and biochemists can implant tech into their soldiers, and bards can have supersonic weaponry. Some humans can even use their tech to amplify their magic.
• Humans, being great leaders, both wise and cunning, apply a boost of +1 strength to all of their allies (not including themselves). This applies to summons, machines, necromantic minions, tamed animals, and RPCs

• Unleashed Power
Humans do not have supernatural energy. Indeed, they were not originally capable of magic, like the other races. It took hundreds of years of conformity, training, and even technological help to develop the ability to learn magic. However, when the goal was finally accomplished and settled, their physical augmentation turned out to be quite impressive. Their bodies gained the ability to contain and control magic, and also a unique other ability, gained through this augmentation: the power to pull magical energy from other sources. Just as humans often resort to solar power for electricity and whatnot, they can devise similar tactics when it comes to energy. Humans can pull solar power, whether gradual (meaning even if you're out of the sunlight, you can still do this) or present. This adds a scaling number to their energy pool:

Trainee - 150 energy
Novice - 300 energy
Adept - 500 energy

Expert - 650 energy
Master - 750 energy
Sage - 1000 energy

• Lose Yourself
A bit of cunning. A survival tactic. Humans know psychology very well, and are constantly looking for ways to gain an edge on someone. They're much less straightforward than other races, as they battle for psychological dominance, always. They can use this to their advantage. While speaking to people, you can use the assistance of your augmentations to discover their mental weaknesses, potentially even physical ones. You can put two and two together to discover their traits, even recognizing signs of a different type of troubled background. These can be used to work your way out of many situations, as well as potentially assassinate or indoctrinate people.

• Every knight has the ability to ignore pain in battle, even ignoring the pain of severed limbs for a certain amount of time.
• Knights have access to a standard set of skills regardless of their specialization.
• Knights gain access to a single Claimed Weapon. This weapon varies, as some specializations may only utilize certain weapons (i.e. Reavers gain a sacrificial dagger). This weapon must be applied for and approved, but in return this weapon may have devastating effects and perks attached to it. What might be "OP" for another class to have might be okay for you to have. All claimed weapons are extremely durable, and they may only be broken while not in the users hands.
• Knights may not go past A Rank with their elemental skills. This means that they may never become a master of an element.

• Reaping Abilities: Shadowknights are capable of grabbing a living creature and stealing their life force to heal themselves. This includes allies, opponents, monsters -- really anything the Knight can get their hands on.
• Fear Me: Any creature who tries to inflict a passive effect on a Shadowknight has this effect reversed. And strengthened by one rank. Excludes Templars.
• I Serve the Dark: When you start out, you already have the attention of a demon who can give you a mark, assuming that this mark comes from a demon loyal to Kala or Vaet Nocturnum.
• I Prey on the Vulnerable: Any creature or being that does not practice holy magic suffers a -1 rank in defense against all of the Shadowknight skills, except for other Shadowknights.
• I Am The Nightmare: Shadowknights instill fear to everyone on the battlefield. This nightmarish trait does not discriminate based on rank. Anyone of any rank will feel the uneasiness caused by this trait. Enemies your rank and lower are automatically susceptible to the Shadowknight's "Horror" ability. Those above him are not.

The man of darkness merely chuckled before shaking his head back and forth at the terrible joke Ren made. He took a deep breath in before exhaling a small dark mist, staring at the man with his red eyes. "As humorous as that joke is, I have more plans for each of them." Kumori told Ren as he put the scroll away, with it getting a faint glow of red before he chuckled. "The one I believe I have found would be the one of Water. But what I will gain from them would be a surprise." Kumori told Ren in a vague way as he got his liquidated shadows to drink. He was quick to down it without paying before sighing a bit. "But I do not seek sage rank or to even become a god. But a world that is different... with those being the keys to finding them."

                                Passives

                                    • Utilize Broken Strength
This is automatically activated upon the user achieving a broken arm. The energy and muscle stimulating shocks sent to the broken arm are transfered from the arm to the rest of the user, most of it going to the other arm. This allows the broken limb to be numbed to pain but can be restored at an easier pace. This helps the broken being to weild heavy weaponry with only a single arm like a weapons master, except they do not have access to any of the Weapon Master's skills.

                                    • Shadow Form
Most, if not all, physical attacks simply phase through the user. This can be a good and a bad thing. If all the opponent has all weapon and hand to hand styles, then the techniques that do not have energy coated on the weapons will simply go right through the user, making all other attacks useless. This is also bad because if the Shade attempts to attack, once can aim a physical attack at him, forcing him to turn himself into his shadowy form. By disrupting him, all of the skills he used are turned into smoke. The user may also chose to go into his incorporeal form once every three posts, at which point he can't attack.

                                    • Shadow Regeneration
The Shades are known to be living and breathing elementals of darkness. Because of that, they are capable of recovering at a slow rate while residing in dark areas or in an ally's shadow. The body is constantly healing for as long as they are within darkness and having their weapons put away. The rate of healing increases with the duration they remain in the darkness. During the regeneration process, the user cannot use offensive Bloodline or Elemental skills. If they are attacked, they have to restart recovery at the slowest rate.
1 post: Small cuts & bruises are healed.
2 Posts: Gashes are turned into small cuts.
3 Posts: Broken limbs can recover within three constant posts inside of darkness.
4 Posts: Internal injuries or burns from light/flame/holy techniques can be recovered.
5 posts: An entire missing body part can be restored at a slow, and painful rate(Excluding the head or torso and it takes 5 full posts waiting in darkness to recover.).

                                    • Shadowy Trail
A Shade does not cast a shadow, but can choose to merge with the shadow of an ally, similar to a ninja. In doing so, the Shade can act as a hidden bodyguard, emerging from the allies shadow at will. The Shade can't be detected other than by holy creatures such as Nephilims, or Paladins and Clerics.

                                    • Shadow MQC
You can now bend the shadows around you to reach your opponent that would be two spears away from you as you can attack them normally while retaining regular damage. The Shade can perform D-ranked damage when at their full strength while in this fighting style, but this is the only range modifyer this style has. This does not spread to other styles, nor weapons can benefit from learning this ability as this is to be the shade's main Fighting style.

                                    • Vibration Sensory
A useful skill, the user channels energy into their feet to sense vibrations on the ground. As long as their feet is on the ground, a user can sense where an enemy is if they are earth bound within 50ft for five posts. This skill becomes passive once the user is Adept Rank.

                                    • Miza's backshield
So long as Kumori keeps Miza sheathed on his back, he is able to resist more damage to his back. But the downside is that she can only resist up to D-rank attacks, C ranks causes a rank down in damage and B and higher cause full damage.

                                    • Trusted Wielder
This Skill requires you to beat the Spirit inside of the Sword. Miza the Terror can only acknowledge those who can defeat her in combat besides Kumori Hell. Those who can hold her after the defeat of the Sword's spirit, can become one with the sword, gaining the knowledge to use her full potential of the Weapon Style: Miza the Terror. Be wary of the weapon style itself as it can kill the user if they misuse the Style's own techniques, the spirit would even warn them to be careful.

                                    • Miza The Terror Weapon Style
Miza has her own Weapon Style.

                                    • Phantom Plane Origins
The user's clothing emits a powerful substance of destruction, known as a Black Shuck Virus. The virus comes out to a maximum of 5 feet in battle, but only 2 feet out of fighting. Staying within the reach of the virus, the foe's own shadow vanishes if they are in the virus's range for 4 posts. Kumori's own shadow skill techniques will gain an increase of one rank for the shadows absorbed into his body(maximum shadows needed: 2) and can only last for 5 posts. As well as performing this, the user no longer suffers energy penalties caused from his class.

                                    • Demonic Prowess
The blood of the innocent courses through Kumori's non-existant veins, powering his body through death itself. As such, his max energy pool has been increased by 700 while every single one of Kumori's Earth Elemental attacks are now boosted with a natural life draining energy. Any earth that Kumori has influenced with his energy, becomes inhabitable by plantations, but unaffects other mortal creatures. Kumori's weapons and armor can effect skill barriers, normal/skill shields, and Armor.

Stepping foot into the restaurant that he'd been told about recently, Constantine let his calm golden eyes dance around the area, looking for any free place to sit that wouldn't be too constraining on his body. With how tall he was compared to most other people in Nocturne it was hard to find places that he could sit with enough leg room or overall body room, and this restaurant was going to end up being the same sadly. Walking forward slowly he greeted the hostess before sitting down at the nearest booth, allowing his body to condense into the seat stiffly as he waited. He didn't have much money to order with, so he'd have to choose the cheapest but most filling meals on their menu sadly. Finding that to be the cheap fish on the menu he ordered that, folding his arms across his chest comfortably, waiting patiently for his food and drink to arrive.

                                  • Angelic Fervor
The Nephilim regenerate faster than any of the angelic brethren. They regenerate all minor wounds almost instantly, and by Expert rank they can regenerate mangled limbs. By master they can survive fatal blows and regenerate complete limbs. However, total destruction of their brain, decapitation, or the almost complete destruction of their body will kill them. Thus, their regeneration falls behind Fairhair significantly.

                                  • Seeker of Evil
The Nephilim have astounding perceptive capabilities. They can sense evil and read energy signatures. They can perceive the minute flow of movements within an enemy's body, making them exceptionally skilled swordsmen. They can tell if someone is of a holy or unholy bloodline, and use this knowledge accordingly.

                                  • Might
For a Nephilim, strength matters far more than speed. The higher your strength, the larger your abilities, the more durable your physical body and your armor, and the stronger the holy effects of your attacks and weapons will be. While most tend to prefer outspeeding their opponents and looking for an instant-killing method, you rely on brutalizing the opponent and shutting down their advances. Considering your high extrasensory capabilities, you can often shut down a whole combo with a mere counterswing of your blade. Contact with it can leave foes knocked back and dazed.

                                  • The Claim Passive
Often, every knight has a single blade that defines his victories. This single blade that the knight has Claimed is one rank higher than the user and scales with them is more powerful than the average custom weapon of its rank. Each Claimed weapon must also be approved in the Custom Weapons thread.

                                  • Devour Passive
The ability to steal the life force of another to replenish your PP meter seems almost unholy. However, the transfer is anything but. Life is pure and raw, and the Reaver understands that. As such, the life transferring ability becomes a part of of every strike made by the Reaver. Direct contact is not necessary, as the Reaver has developed not only the ability to sense pain coming from others, but the ability to absorb the pain from several yards away. The range is limited to the area that the user is in. Not limited to opponents.

Based on the skill that is used, the user regenerates a certain amount of pain points.

                                  • Pain Passive
The Reaver projects a constant aura (radius of 10 meters) that seeps into anyone the user wishes and causes them rather mild pain. For every person infected, the user gain back D Ranked Power Points, thanks to Devour. This attack is fully capable of being boosted, though once boosted, the cost in power points will equal one rank below what you are receiving. If it is boosted to B Rank, it costs C Rank to use.

                                  • Your Pain is My Drug Passive
As long as the user is inflicting pain on another, the user gains a +1/+1 to stats. The user feeds off of this pain, and the effect is most definitely stackable for every enemy.

"My, my, what an outspoken way to introduce yourself." In the same booth he'd just taken--whether he realized it or not--was another man. A bit older, with gruff facial hair and a somewhat weathered appearance. "In case you were wondering, my name is Amias Nicht." It was a test, moreso than anything else. He wanted to see how much weight his name carried now, after all of his deeds. For a long time, the man was well within obscurity, and had recently begun taking tremendous strides to carve a name out for himself in this world. Liberating Heaven and Hell was just the first step. Next, it would become his incentive to lead Axiom to a bright future, the one that he and Brydent dreamt of. A future without the interference of the old gods.

But that was all gerrymandering and babble for another time. For now, the man focused his attention on the Nephilim before him, the Sight giving him a certain amount of clairvoyance into his table mate's abilities and energy levels. After determining that he wasn't a threat, his shoulders relaxed slightly, and he took another sip of his water, waiting patiently for this fellow's response.

                                                        • The Sight
Just like their counterpart (the Nephilim) the Diabolos can read the auras about them and see things for what they are. This allows them to pinpoint an opponent's energy level(rank), along with the ability to naturally see energy.

                                                        • Electromagnetic Manipulation
Even without expending energy, the Diabolos can manipulate electromagnetic fields. This allows them to levitate their own weapons and manipulate them with great speed, power and precision. Furthermore, they may sense metal and disturbances in electromagnetic fields; for example, if there is a destructive event happening even across the world, they will know it is ongoing, just not who or what is involved. They can sense earthquakes and other such things, to name a few events that would trigger this sense.

You may also compress this magnetic field within simply a large area around you; this allows you to perceive movements around you.

                                                        • Pain Inversion
This is a strength and a weakness. Pain Inversion allows for a Diabolos' abilities to be stronger based on their physical health. This does not increase ability rank, but rather size, speed and precision. At full condition, you will be able to manipulate larger masses and fling them at enemies as if ballistic homing missiles. When near death, you will need great concentration to do that same thing and will be able to manipulate significantly less at once.

Blinking silently in surprise, Constantine nearly blushed in embarrassment at the fact that he sat down without even paying attention to the other person who'd just recently sat down. Apparently he was more lost in his thoughts than he'd originally noticed, having completely looked over the older looking man before him. When the man introduced himself to him as Amias Nicht his eyes widened slightly in surprise, finding it somewhat strange that a man who by every story and meaning of the word was a world wide hero would be here at a small restaurant. Then again even people as powerful as him had to eat he supposed, letting out a slight chuckle Constantine spoke towards the man in his usual respectful and quiet tone, making sure he didn't say anything stupid to potentially upset the man. "I'm sorry about this, I must have been more distracted than I thought. My name is Constantine Marquise, it's a pleasure to meet you Ser Amias, I've heard many tales about you." Giving a polite nod the male fell silent, staring calmly at the man as he carefully inspected the man using his power of energy sensing, getting a feel for the man based on the responses to his probing.

Heard many tales? It was interesting enough that the young man hadn't noticed him at all, but it was even moreso piquing of his interest that people had been talking about him. How many centuries had it been, since last he'd heard of anyone hearing about him without having first met him? How long had it been since he'd felt that sense of fame and reknown? Either way, he wasn't sure if he liked it or hated it; Amias had made it a particular habit of his to stay out of the public spotlight for over three hundred years, and he hadn't initially had the intentions of stopping. But killing Zachariah had reawakened something in him, an instinct, a lust for fame and power that he hadn't felt in years. And now, here he was, some young man he'd never met before recognizing him.

"Well, since you've heard plenty about me already, I suppose we can keep that side of the conversation short. So tell me then, young man...what is your heritage? Where do you hail from?" He was getting the boring questions out of the way so that he could get right down into the interesting details. Obvious trivialities were a given, but it was something he relied upon to get a better feel of the person he was talking to. If this man had something of interest to him, or was potentially capable of helping him out with his goals, then it was a worthwhile venture for Amias to pursue. Should he fail this small interview, however, he would be left out of what would likely be a developmental adventure.

Glancing to the side silently, Constantine took in the sight of the many people wandering around the restaurant in an attempt to find the waitress he'd ordered from previously. He was mostly just trying to find a way to distract him from the overwhelmingly powerful man in front of him, sure he enjoyed conversing with people whenever he can, and he respected Amias quite a bit for what he'd done for the world, but at the same time the amount of energy and evil coming off the man was overwhelming, even if he wasn't an innately evil person it came with the fact that he was what Constantine could only assume was a Vaet Diabolos, having felt this same type of energy signature in Aurelia on their date previously. Now he didn't have anything against the Vaet Diabolos personally, he was just a cautious man when it came to interacting with those that could kill him before he could even blink an eye; and the person sitting across from him was one that could do just that, hell he could probably do it before Constantine even tried to start blinking. Shaking his head slightly the brown-haired man looked up, hearing Amias ask him about his Heritage and where he came from.

A slight look of surprise danced across his face briefly, however he settled back into his normal calm look rather quickly. It was surprising when someone of great power took interest in you, especially with how weak he was compared to many other people in Nocturne. Then again at the same time it could just be that he was conversing with him to make it less awkward that they'd both sat at the same booth, it was most likely the latter one if he was to be honest with himself. After a moment of thought he responded to the man, his calm gold eyes shifting upwards to look the man in his eyes, having always been told it was polite to look your conversation partner in the eyes whilst speaking. "My heritage? Hm. I've been a warrior since I was a young child, it comes with the race I suppose. We're mostly bred for combat, so they trained us for combat. I've been doing freelance jobs as a Knight for the past twenty or so years, I spent a few years with Emperor West, but then kind of just did small odd jobs. Where am I from? I couldn't tell you, I grew up in a secluded compound with little interaction with others, they sent me there to grow strong. It wasn't until I was nearly thirty that I was able to leave there, and it's been so long now I barely remember the place."

Interesting. A very young man with a warrior's training, and little memory of his homeland. That would indeed make for a fitting servant to West. Speaking of West...Amias hadn't heard anything about the emperor for a while. He'd heard that the empire was disbanded, but little more than that. Like Lilith, Maria, and Alistair, he seemed to have merely vanished. Of course, given Lilith's sudden transformation, it wasn't hard to put two and two together for what happened to the rest of them. Perhaps it wouldn't be just Lilith he'd be able to have a chat with; the others would likely follow suit in the future as well.

"A young man in the employ of the former Emperor West with combat training. That's a rather colorless story, but you've got quite a lot of time left to make something good out of it. In the meantime, though..." The older man stood up, motioning for this man before him to do the same. "I think we should test out these combat capabilities of yours. Follow me to the CAZ." Without any more delay, Amias would begin briskly walking towards the Combat Assessment Zone. The man's mettle would be put to the test in spectacular fashion.

Blinking quietly at Amias, Constantine allowed a soft sigh to escape his lips, already assuming what the man was thinking when he'd first mentioned his childhood growing up. It wasn't abnormal for people to find it odd that he was raised as a child warrior, but at the same time it was kind of a normal thing for the Nephilim, they were supposed to be the best of the best when it came to combat; at least that's what his old teacher liked to spew from his mouth constantly. He'd never really believed that whole train of thought, instead he'd just assumed that while yes they were decent at combat, hell even very good at combat; they weren't the best at it. There was always someone out there in the world better than you in something, that was how he liked to look at things anymore. Growing up the way he had lead to some interesting thought processes, he'd began questioning his life and those around him at a young age, which led to the way he currently was. Quiet and subdued, he didn't want to upset anyone around him; but at the same time he was always trying to work up the confidence to speak his mind. This moment was one of those, when the mention mentioned how he had a rather colorless story overall; not that Constantine could deny this perse. "Colorless? Yes I suppose so. That's why I'm here now, I'm trying to make the most out of the life given to me. I've made more progress on that here in Nocturne than I ever did before. I met a bunch of people, actually went on a date with a beautiful woman; its shaping up to be a good year this one." Giving a half smile the brown-haired man stood up alongside Amias, having already agreed to spar with the man before he'd done so. He did however leave some money behind before grabbing his food to go so he could eat it on the way to the Combat Assessment Zone.

                                  SS Ranked: 200 Points

Gaining new abilities? That was something that Ren could get behind. Now the jobs Ren usually went for were great and all but none sounded as exciting as getting new powers or really proved a challenge. Sure he went for the easier jobs because he just needed money. Kumori's mission sounded like it would be fun and maybe the man might even let Ren have one of these powers. The man licked his lips at the concept. "You know that these guys will be pretty powerful and magical opponents are something of a speciality for me. You don't suppose you could do with an extra sword by your side? You know what they say about many claws or hands, not sure which it was but you get my meaning," Ren spoke in a smoother tone than before. "I would not need a payment of money, just sounds like something that will really work the rust out of my blade," he chuckled.

Taking a strawberry from the plate sitting before her, she took a bite, the bitter sweet juice bursting into her mouth. The place was a s**t hole, drugs, sex and violence. This was Luimira, Succubi and Inucubi roaming looking for desperate souls, Vampiers looking for their next meal and Vaet Diabolus looking for souls to corrupt. From her corner she could keep an eye on the other bar patrons. She hadn't ordered a drink as she was only here relaxing and in town looking for work. Leaning on the table to her left was Kurokazé, her custom made rifle. Her ever watchful eyes where hidden under a hood. She was an Assassin a damn good one, she was actually different than others as she was a Marksman, sniping her targets. Though she was also a capable fighter as well, she preferred the fast and easy way. Also unlike these other pretenders, the shadows were hers. Able truly dissolve and become one with them.
