✥ Characters :: Jinx and Akemi ✥ Location :: Makai.
Balancing two opposing sides was tough at times.
Spend too much time with the Spiritus, the Blackhearts will grow suspicious. Get too far up the ranks of the Blackhearts, then the Spiritus would hear about it. Seeing as she had spent an extraordinary amount of time in the castle these past couple of weeks, she thought it was about time she brought in some Witch Eaters to avoid suspicion. The red-head had been on their tracks for the past couple of days, studying them, lurking in the shadows. learning their ways and motivations. Ruria once said that you need to know your enemy, however that was difficult when you did not know who was your friend.
Akemi stood at the entrance to the cave, the blackness of the shadows reaching up to wrap around her feet and slowly pull her under, sinking into the black like quicksand it was not long until the girl was gone entirely. Gone to where they were hiding, gone to see what her future victims were up to. The inside of the cave was damp and dark, to the side there was an open fire surrounded by blankets, chests and cooking utensils. All that you needed to sustain a somewhat normal life in this place. A normal life for Outlaws at least. When you consumed a heart... there was just no place for you in civilization anymore. All that you had to look forward to was the hunt and your creeping demise, it made her wonder why they even bothered.
The trainee Blackheart was quiet, still engulfed in the Shadowy haze she had summoned earlier. They were not here? Interesting. Where or where could they be? What were they up to? She shook her head and smirked, they were so troublesome. She turned to re-enter the darkened portal she had come from, but stopped when she heard a noise echoing down the tunnel. There was a secondary light. Akemi backed up against the wall, hiding to observe the return of the rats.

"Oh ******** me! Curse my rotten luck!" Alezea berated herself as she sprinted full speed down the dark cavern passageway. "Can nothing ever got my way for once? Get away from me you shitheads!" she cursed as she threw a rock behind her almost hitting one of the witch eaters who have been running after her. It seemed she has always been running for something, or rather, from something. If she wasn't trying to get to class on time, she was trying to escape from a teacher or in this case from witch eaters! She tried throwing her die before but she got a 2 of fire and that only singed some eyebrows, resulting in laughs and a bloody lip as a souvenir. Her goal for this adventure was this very cave. She was not expecting too much trouble but on her way there she met with a group of three witch eaters who seemed to be wanting her for breakfast. The red head was all scraped up. Beaten and bloodied she succeeded in running all the way to the cave where she figured she'd lose them within it's passageways. "I came all this way, curse me if I'm going back empty handed." Throwing her dice at them without even looking behind her. At this point she just wanted to buy her enough time to get away. As always though, she rolled a three of light, only succeeding in lighting up the cave and earning a few more laughs. The cave widened in front of her into a room with no exits. She stopped dead on her tracks and whirled around. Noticing a a fire and some items strung around she finally realized the situation she had dragged herself in. "Crap! I might as well get on top of the table and put an apple in my mouth. I came right into their camp! Ughh... Stupid! so stupid Alezea!" The three witch eaters stopped at the entrance as well. "Stupid indeed." They laughed and sneered as Alezea took a few steps back stumbling on a rock and falling on her butt. The which eaters were upon her like lightning. Alezea closed her eyes, bracing herself for the worst...

It did not take long for others to enter the hide-out. Akemi stayed still, bright eyes glowing faintly in the blackness which covered the wall, pulsing like a living organism, engulfing her, holding her close. The first to enter the room was a girl, one with striking resemblance to herself. She was younger than the wolf-woman, with longer hair and a more curvaceous frame, but besides those subtle differences, the two might have well have been sisters. Akemi paused for a moment, thrown off balance by the sudden appearance of her doppelganger. Though she was soon awakened from her mild surprise by the sound of the girl landing square on her butt. Akemi sighed, even as a child she was never that useless, it seemed like there similarities finished at their appearance. She paused for a moment, debating if she should step in and help. Akemi had no qualms in watching the suffering of others, Marcus had made sure of that.
Alas, that was not the way of a Blackheart, and even though she was not among their ranks yet, she needed to convince them she had the potential to be. She assumed there must be some use in keeping the girl in the land of the living, especially since she looked so much like herself. As the Witch Eaters struck so did Akemi.
She came free of the wall, dragging the darkness that manifested like a curtain, pulling it from a wall and around infront of her into a spiral. Then the seemingly liquid object shattered like a mirror, small dark daggers sprayed the room, cutting into the flesh of the Witch-Eaters, red flowers bloomed on their skin, the shadows fading into nothing to allow the blood to flow freely. They cursed and screamed in both pain and surprise, holding their limbs. Akemi gave them no time to think. She was outnumbered and knew the best way to go about this was quickly and efficiently. Take them down swiftly and without mercy, that is what the Skeleton General had preached.
Akemi landed infront of the other girl, one again spinning to rip the shadows off of the wall. They formed around her arms, elongating them into giant claw like manifestations. She gave the other woman a quick glimpse before leaping ahead, directing her attentions souly towards one. He raised his arms to defend himself but she pushed him back, thrusting one of the claws into his chest, blood splattered across the wall as the sharp nails burst through the other side. When she pulled back she pulled out all the fleshy tissue she had sliced through, creatures who lived to steal the hearts of others... it only seemed right that they had their hearts ripped out themselves. Akemi's red eye glowed intensely as she turned to look at the remaining Eaters. She smirked, raising her clawed hand, she stuck up three fingers, but put one down slowly to show that only two of them remained. Taunting them.
One of the creatures went to escape back through the passage, but a black curtain arose to block the way. Akemi smirked as his head snapped back to look at her. Fear in his eyes. The wolf-girl brought her claw to her mouth, licking off the still warm liquid that coated it.
"I am sorry. It seems like you are all stuck here with me. Have I ruined the mood? I know sudden impending death can kill the urge to rob little girls of their innocence and magic. I am sorry, if you are still feeling frisky though, feel free to carry on... Consider it a last dinner. A last chance to gain power. However you better be damn sure you can make it to her before I can."
The man furthest away from her made a move towards Alezea as his friend looked on still shocked by the mangled remains of their companion. Akemi looked over at the other girl, cocking her head to the side quite casually before addressing her in a lighthearted voice.
"Show me you are not too weak to live."

Nothing... She felt nothing. Was death supposed to feel like this?No pain.. just nothing? Confused, Alezea opened her eyes slowly. What the hell? Alezea saw a blur and then what looked like a woman standing in front of her with something that looked like a huge claw covering her arm. Her eyes widened. "Hey! You look just like me! What the ********> The blue and red eyes, the red hair. The similarities were striking.
And then her eyes followed the girl's arm to where it was protruding from the body of one of the witch eaters... to where the similarities between her and this other woman ended. Alezea quickly stood up and beat a hasty retreat toward the far cave walls. If this girl was gonna go crazy with what looked like her shadow magic, then she was not gonna stand in her way. It looked like the girl was out to help her after all. The blood did not bother Alezea; she had seen it before. What bothered her, was the girls enjoyment of the kill. She looked like she was having fun! Alezea just thought it was gross. The other red head took a break to talk to the remaining witch eaters. Did she just hear this correctly? Was she offering her up to the eaters.
"What a b***h!" she mumbled under her breath. Taking out her die, Alezea readied herself for any kind of trouble. She really hoped her dice would help her at this moment. Bringing them to her lips, she kissed them.
And at that moment the witch eater jumped towards her, claws at the ready to sink them into her. Alezea quickly threw her dice in the direction that the eater was coming. "Weak my a**! a*****e!" At the moment something miraculous happened, Alezea threw an 100 of Lightning! Something she had never done before. A light filled the room and the dozens of lightning bolts rained down from the ceiling. Alezea covered her face, hoping she didn't get hit. When the lightning was gone. She opened her eyes again and....
"I missed? Oh what the ********> she stomped her foot exasperated upon hearing the laughter. All of a sudden, there was a tremendous rumble heard all over the cave and then the floor gave way, plummeting all of them into the darkness below.

Akemi was not expecting this.
The lights blinded her, in an attempt to shield her eyes the girl covered her face with her arm, her shadows fleeting away at the sudden lack of darkness. After a moment and a few tremendous crashing sounds the wolf-woman opened her eyes, speckles dancing across her vision. Besides the sudden outburst of energy, they all seemed to be unharmed. Akemi straightened up, trying to regain her bearings, besides the laugh of one, all was still. Then....
The ground moved. Akemi's knees gave away and all of a sudden she was on her hands and knees trying to stabilize herself. The ground opened up, swallowing her whole, and then there was darkness. She only felt like she was falling for a few seconds, she heard running water, but she was not near lucky enough to hit it. The girl hit the ground, a sharp pain engulfed her body, a battering of rocks following. Light flooded from above, illuminating the passage they had all found themselves in. Despite the pain, Akemi found herself conscience. She looked around, analyzing the situation. The body of the man she gutted was floating in the water, her attention then went to the patch of ground she had landed on. Not too far away lay the bloody corpse of the one who tried to run away earlier, his body and bones broken and buried by the rocks, his head nothing else but mush.
Then, there was movement. Her eyes snapped to the side, just in time to see the last flee down the passage. She cursed in her head and growled. It was time to pick herself up, but when she tried to move she heard a scream... It took a moment to realize it was she who was screaming. Tears in her eyes she looked back at herself. Her lower half was buried under rocks and her side... Eyes widened in horror to see a branch sticking out of her side, she must have landed on it, and it has sliced through her like butter. The wolf women growled and pushed up as hard as she could, she could feel the object travel through her, the rocks falling off of her legs as she pushed. She screamed again as she burst free, falling to the side.
At the side of her remained the blooded branch still protruding them the ground, her blood pooling. Damn it. She was not going to die here. The woman made one last attempt to stand, stumbling to her feet before falling to the side, in the end she managed to use the wall to support herself. Only then when she looked up she realized how far they had fallen, a hand holding the hole in her body, she realized she had no idea where she was. Or where the other girl was for that matter... probably buried.
Probably dead.

Alezea fell but a few seconds.... straight into water. Her lungs constricted as she felt the chill of the water deep in her bones. Finding the bottom of the pool with her tiptoes she kicked up full force to the surface of the water, gasping for air. "Auuugh!! Holy s**t what happened?"Wiping water off her eyes, she opened them only to come face to face with a dead body. Gasping, she scrambled away from it as quick as she could, finding the edge of the pool. Everything was so dark! She took a moment for her eyes to adjust. And what she saw among the rubble was a bloody mess. She was horrified at the sight of the nearly headless witch eater among the rubble. Did I do that? Was that my fault? She stepped back, not able to take her eyes off the broken body. A scream interrupted her thoughts, Alezea whirled around to see where it was coming from. And she saw the girl who had "rescued" her starting to get up; her hands around a branch that had previously been lodged at her side. The sight made Alezea nauseous but she still hurried towards the girl. "Oh my god! Are you ok? Here.. let me help."

"DON'T ******** TOUCH ME!"
Akemi barked sharply as the other girl rushed over to her, droplets dripping from her hair, skin glistening with the kiss of the water. The wolf-girl needed to think, she needed to comprehend this troublesome situation they had found themselves in. Most of the time she could have simply summoned a portal and stepped through onto the other side, but the pain was making it impossible to conjure any kind of spell - which also meant she could not heal herself. She cursed in her mind, shaking her head in frustration. They were trapped her;, and ontop of that they had a killer stuck here with them - no doubt riddled with rage at the death of his comrades, vision hazy with the need for revenge. And the icing on the cake? She had this brat to take care of too. What even was that spell? In what world was it a good idea?
They were screwed.
Akemi felt like throwing her arms up in the air and calling it a day right then and there, however everytime she moved another wave of agony paralyzed her body. How could she trust this girl? How did she think she would let her anywhere near her? If that was her offensive... Akemi dared to think what her healing magic would do. It would probably blow her freaking head off! No. She would grind her teeth and deal with it. With any luck the scar would remain a reminder of a rather amusing story - though the red-head was struggling to find the funny side in all this.
Why was she even here? She could have been back at the castle with Marcus in a feathered bed, having her every desire catered for. Akemi was not spoilt, she did not mind sleeping rough or getting hurt - infact she found pain rather pleasurable at times - but this was just too much! One step and she found herself on her knees again, this time she cursed outloud, sharply and passionately. Bright eyes looked at the girl, her skeletal mask outlined faintly by the light flooding in from the level above them. With a deep breathe Akemi bit down and tried to control that temper she was ever so famous for. As much as she hated to admit it, as much as her hot-headed nature disagreed and how much her pride cried out in shame... She was not going to get out of here alone. She needed help, even if it was from the most useless witch is Makai.
"He is going to come back you know. He could already be plotting his attack and I can promise you it is not gonna be pretty; if you think this is bad... you have no idea what he is going to do us."
She twitched; another wave coming over her but despite it she continued.
"If we have any chance of getting out of here I need to be able to fight him and I can't do that..... ********.... I hope you are a better healer than a fighter or we are screwed in every which way you can imagine and more."
She could smell the girls discomfort. All those hormones running around her body. She was not used to this, she stunk of innocence and inexperience. ******** students. Akemi herself never went to the academy, and even though the Blackheart headquarters were on the lower levels of the school, she showed it no interest in it. A school for witches... you did not learn magic in books. You learnt it through fear and necessity, though battles and the urge to live. They were all so soft in her eyes. Her vision started to blur, shapes fusing together into a mushy mess.
"D-damn it."
She stuttered out before hitting the floor. Blood pooling around her. Before long everything was black....
She was not going to die like this.
Not at the hands of such an inexperienced little girl.

Not that Alezea was particularly jumpy but Akemi's outburst nearly took her out of her own skin. Jumping back a few paces, she took a minute to calm herself down. This wasn't exactly the situation she imagined herself being in when she left school this morning. All she wanted to find was this Muse's Eye and return home safe and sound. Instead she manged to get herself hunted by witch eaters, stuck in a dark cave with a girl who was deathly injured who hated her guts, or so she thought. "Jeez, its not like I'm gonna kill you. Overly dramatic much?" And then she remembered she was actually the one that caused all of this. If it wasn't for her this girl wouldn't be injured. Alezea decided to shut up and stay back, she didn't wanna cause anymore issues for this girl. She watched the girl as she tried to take a few steps and rushed to her side again, when the girl collapsed on the floor. Alezea's eyes widened at the girls warning. She was right! They were completely screwed! Alezea looked around the cave, fearful. There was no sign of the witch eater for the moment. She shivered at the thought of being at their mercy. It would be one thing if her magic was reliable and this girl was in fighting condition. But that wasn't the case. She looked back at the girl with wolf ears and Jinx realized the girl had fainted. "Oh crap! no no no!" She hurried to the girls side. Now that she was unconscious, she would not be able to protest. She lifted the girls shirt a little bit to look at the damage. Her stomach protested, "This is bad, really bad!" Blood was oozing from the injury at the girls side and her breathing was slowing considerably. Alezea tried to put pressure on the wound with her hands, but to no avail. "Crap! If I can't stop the blood this girl is gonna die right here..." She stood up and teared out a piece of her dress, went to the pond and cleaned the filthy rag. She went back to the girl and applied as much pressure to the wound as she could. There was really not much she could do. She didn't have anything with her and there was nothing around she could use to make bandages. Alezea closed her eyes tight and wished with all she could, "Please be ok, please be ok, please be ok..." Damn it! I am not gonna be able to live with myself if this girl died right here, it will be all my fault!. She hunched over the wolf girl for what felt like a long time. Sitting next to the girl, her eyes closed just murmuring well wishes, helpless, tears running down her face. Finally opening her eyes, she saw that the girl was not pale anymore and that her breathing had gone back to normal. She took her hands off the wound and lifting the rag from it, her eyes widened at what she saw. The bleeding had stopped! Not only that, but the wound was closing! How could that be? "It has to be something with this cave" she said looking around. All of a sudden, everything grew blurry, and her head started spinning. She was exhausted and she had no idea why. She felt her vision darkening as she fainted on top of the girl. Her last words... "Please be ok..."

Akemi, for the first time in recent memory, dreamed of home.
God. How she wished she didn’t.
Her eyelids fluttered and then slowly opened to reveal bright orbs of colour. It took a moment for her vision to adjust, blurry shapes sharpening to form lines and definition. Where was she? The wolf girl was puzzled, clueless and groggy; like she had been sleeping for hours. She looked down to see the mass that was sprawled across her. That was right. Damn it. She sighed and sat up, letting her other girls head fall onto her lap gently. The older red-head looked down at her side, just in time to see the wound heal up completely – it was like it had never been, the pain disappearing almost instantaneously. Huh, seemed like this little brat was a better medic than she thought. Good. It was about time she proved herself useful.
Akemi looked at the light flooding down from above them. She could just escape; lead them both out of here... But that would leave the other witch-eater alive... and her mission would be a failure. Not to mention the terror he would be free to cause if she ignored him. Now, fully healed and not ready to admit defeat, the exiled maiden made the decision to go on the hunt. Still, she could not leave the other witch behind. Like it or not, Akemi owed her a blood debt and she was always cautious about who she owed. The sooner she could work it off the better, and then she could part with this little terror completely and pretend the two had never crossed paths.
Akemi slid out from under the girl, freeing her legs from her grasp before jumping onto her feet. She closed her eyes and sniffed the air. She smelt a trail and the scent of blood made her smile with evil intent. She liked her lips in excitement. Meat. Letting out a low growl she grabbed the unconscious girl and hoisted her up onto her shoulders, letting her arms and legs dangle at either side of her head. She stumbled for a moment and then found her strength. Akemi was a fighter, she was meant to be strong. Still, it would not hurt this troublesome witch to lay off the cream puffs. With a deep breath Akemi started to run forward, deeper into the inky blackness of the cave. Eyes peeled for any sign of movement. After a while she could feel the younger witches muscles twitching, threatening to wake.
”Hey. Princess. You gonna be able to walk anytime soon. I can’t carry your fat a** forever.”
