It was the first time in a long while that Eyvindr found himself in one of the local towns without his purpose being one of mischief. Instead he was there thanks to the always-kind prompting of his dear friend Camellya who had threatened him with disembowelment if he did not leave her alone for a day. He did as he was bidden, and so he meandered the market-streets on his own, wandering from stall to stall, peering at anything that caught his fancy and occasionally wondering if he could get away with stealing it. This was not the day for that, however - the market was packed and any person with eyes was bound to notice him making off with any non-purchased goods - so he begrudgingly stuck to window-shopping for the time-being.

Perusing wares quickly became boring just as the crowd of other 'taur became suffocating, so Eyvindr snagged a free fruit tart sample from a baker's booth nearby and retreated into a less populated side-street. Leaning against a wall, he munched on his confection with his ears perked towards the market street, listening in on any curious wayward conversations. Most of the ones he could hear were trivial and mundane, although as he finished his tart he heard a few passers-by talking about some sort of dancing performance near the square. Smiling to himself, he swallowed the last of his pastry and merged back into the main street, idly following various people until he arrived at a stage near the outskirts of the market.

The stage was empty and seats were steadily being filled in, so Eyvindr assumed he arrived at the perfect time. He shouldered past other audience members until he found a vacant spot in the corner of the far back row where he could see the stage clearly. Folding his arms, he leaned back and watched the stage, waiting for something interesting to occur. Surely this was more exciting than bumming around the market all day.

It was the first performance, and the audience was lacking. Backstage, Tsukasa fussed endlessly with her mask, with the barrettes that held feathers in her hair, with the cape and the ribbons laced up her legs. Acrobatics: everything she had ever wanted to be a part of, yet never actually grasped - until now. Her heart pounded in her chest, and even though the director reported that the audience numbers were down, her pulse was through the roof. The first performance would start word travelling, she was sure of it. After all, that was how this sort of thing worked, right? That was the way they got famous. Well, that and the posters.

"Excited?" The whisper made gooseflesh prickle up her arms, a shuddering sigh falling past her lips when the embrace circled her waist.

"Always," she responded in kind, leaning her head back to kiss her current squeeze along the jawline. The wolftaur hissed under his breath, nails scratching lightly at her exposed stomach and she trembled; tonight would be a ton of fun, that much she was sure of. Even if the show crashed and burned, the electricity between herself and Galahad was stronger than ever.

Suddenly, a glow jumped out from the curtain's edge, trumpets blaring to signify the start of the show. From that point, not a moment was still. Each act passed by in a nervous blur, every entrance and exit marked by a chance to press her lips against her newest toy, and it was finally her turn. The scene went off without a hitch, and her juggling partner was flawless. Gusts of air raced across the audience as the two young women tossed batons between them, the world spinning as Tsukasa and her partner flipped and leaped through the air. It was over before she knew it, the flush of the lights and the roar of the crowd following her off stage, heart thrumming as she passed her wolftaur beau and his double-ended torch. Backstage, she could see his act painted out on the inside of her eyelids; she'd seen him practice night after night, it was no surprise that she had his act memorized.

But he came back early. With a crash and a curse, the lights went out and both he and the foxtaur he performed with slipped back through the curtain. Tsukasa's ears flicked back nervously as she watched her lover storm away, claws kneading at the ground helplessly. She knew how to deal with arguments, but one-sided anger was another thing entirely; especially when the person was angry with themselves. Galahad still hadn't returned by curtain call, and as she bowed, she heard the murmurs and questions of the actors, a whisper hushed by the applause. Her distraction was obvious as the cast lined up on stage. The silver mask she wore was pulled away from her face, propped on her forehead as worried blue eyes grazed the masses for a familiar head of wavy black hair.
