Basic Equipment

Food and Water
-MRE's are approximately 450 grams each, or 1 pound- 1200 calories
-First Strike Rations are approximately half the weight for the same day usage, and provide 2900 calories each
-A days worth of water (excluding water from food), 6 pounds for 96 oz (approximately 75% of a gallon).
-Life Saver bottle, capable of filtering up to 4000 liters (over 1000 gallons), down to 15 nanometers, filtering out every known virus and contagion
-Dried Food, like astronaut ice cream and stuff, or other freeze dried foods, for extended periods of time
-Energy bars, like the HOOAH! Bar!

In general 3 days worth of food and water, for 3 MRE's, 1 bar, and 6 pounds of water, a day, for 3 days, is approximately 28 pounds, or 18 pounds for 3 days of water and 10 pounds for the food (the weight of the food including water). First Strike rations are approximately half the weight of MRE's for the same daily meal, and allow for 6 days worth of food; additionally, they do not require heating and can be eaten "on the go", making them better than "field stripped" MRE's. They are packed with more fats and salts however, which means that under less stressful situations they can be somewhat oversaturated with certain nutrients. Due to the somewhat excessive weight, making up nearly 30 of the average U.S. soldier's 75 pound combat back (4/10th's of the weight), in extreme situations or long range trips food and water, as well as other supplies can be air dropped into combat, or supplied ahead of time in special caches (if logistics permits).

The life saver bottle is approximately a pound, and can filter up to 1000 gallons; at most, a person will need 1 gallon of water per day, so this is enough to last 2.75 years. A 20,000 liter Jerrycan will last approximately 13.75 years for one person. This can significantly lessen the amount of water needed in the field; since water can be found almost anywhere, even the desert, by digging down, or waiting for rainfall/condensation, the ability to purify the fresh water allows for a lot more sources of water to be feasible to be drank, "on the go", instead of needing to boil it (first establishing a fire, which wouldn't always work) or decontaminate in some other way. This allows for the quick acquisition of water on the go, from nearly any source, thus lessening the load needed to be carried. This also means that surviving in otherwise harsh environments is less difficult. A month's worth of water is close to 180-240 pounds, at the bare minimum needed to survive; the life saver filters basically allow years worth to be carried with little issue.

Freeze dried foods can be fairly lightweight; depending on your source and style, the caloric and protein content can be much higher. If you ate pure beef, you could get approximately 2900 calories and 150 grams of protein from 450 grams of food; however, this would be lacking a lot of essential vitamins and nutrients, as well as complete proteins, and would require a substantial amount of supplements, or mixture with materials like soy. More varied and complex meals, such as macaroni and beef, or rice and chicken, are available, as complete meals, which are also considered in general to taste better. Due to this and it's otherwise unprepared status, freeze dried foods are more useful when preparation time is available; however, precooked they can be eaten raw, and be hydrated with saliva or water, and otherwise have a more pleasant taste than most raw foods, and are safe to eat; most freeze dried food, if it is cooked first, can be eaten cold, simply by being rehydrayted with clean water. The biggest advantage is the low weight of the food, only requiring 1 pound per day, as they are dehydrated and do not carry water weight. LRRP rations, or freeze dried food, was specifically made for these purposes, a concept also widely used by the SAS. The biggest disadvantage to freeze dried food is the need to gather water from the environment, as the food is largely so light weight due to it's lack of water (being dehydrated, or dried), which can be done by miniature, portable distilleries, rain water catchment systems, local sources of clean fresh water (such as rivers or streams), and more recently specialized filters. Freeze dried food however has a very long shelf life and is also very durable.

Comparatively, pure fats carry 9 calories per gram, and thus 454 grams, or 1 pound could provide 4080 calories; thus, hoping for a meal additionally high in protein and vitamins under a pound and at the 3000 calorie range is more or less well within the limit of what the human digestion system can handle. As first strike rations possess 2900 calories, freeze dried foods more or less allow for 9-10 meals for 10 pounds worth of food, or a pound or so a day for the amount of food needed. This can drastically reduce food loads; in the same 3 day pack that the average soldier carries using MRE's, using freeze dried food it can be close to 10. With the water filter, there is a near indefinite water supply provided the right terrain (practically anywhere except freezing).

Total: 30 pounds, including bottles, canteens, hydro bladders, and containers and pouches

Hulc Transport!
56 lb
The Hulc Transport device allows the user to carry up to 200 pounds for 24 hours with the lithium titanate battery, or for an unlimited amount of time provided ample day time sunlight. Given that at least 50 pounds of fuel and battery weight are already present, the device can only carry an additional 150 pounds, although it's own weight is already calculated. Recharging the battery is done by hybrid vehicles, usually armored personnel carriers, to provide power for movement. If weather permits, than the device can provide an unlimited range for the user, given that solar panels can power it, present on both the helmet and shoulders, as well as one that can be raised from the device itself. The hydrogen fuel cell, and it's fuel, allows for approximately 8 days of continuous travel. However, this fuel cannot simply be recharged and replaced from a hybrid vehicle, and thus it represents a permanent loss. In combination with the solar panels, it can provide greatly increased range; even if the weather is temporarily disabled or poor, it can provide a buffer zone before the batteries completely stop working. In concert with the battery and hydrogen, the device can provide at least 9 days of transport. A more accurate depiction is 540 kilometers at roughly 4-6 km, or 60 kilometers per day.

Armor
The armor is unique in that is provides a wide range of multiple purpose capabilities, such as night vision, scopes, thermal vision, coolant systems, armor protection, a gas mask, air filters, and a host of other things not commonly available to units. Thus it provides a wide variety of functions from operating as a gas mask to night vision goggles. It is as a result, exceptionally heavy.

-The Land warrior system integrates electronics and smart technology into infantry equipment. It includes the labtop, armsxcale smartphone computer, and video surveillance equipment that attaches to the scope and that is in the helmet, as well as the radio.
