The ball of heat in the sky was making its descent to hide away from the silvery ball that always showed up when it disappeared. Ligeria didn't have much of a grasp on the world around her, names where things she had yet to learn or simply remember. It hadn't helped that she'd had very little social interaction face to face with others, mostly sticking to observing from a far. On her solo adventures she found those sleeping to sing to or at as was often the case, as her ability to last long on land had become apparent to her.

This was one of the times she tempted fate and hopped onto solid surface that left her loving sea home behind. She was aware this was dangerous having never been educated on the risks or time lengths this was all a game of chance.

It was kinda fun.

However she had an alternative reason to come here today, she's spotted the purple little bundle a few days ago and had sought to investigate. On the first day it wailed she'd figured it was trying to sing and sung her own song as an example. Instead of improving the little bundle had stopped and seemed to settle it was rather odd, on the second day it wailed again and her singing hadn't worked. It had caused her to come onto the land a rare event to satisfy her own curiosity when she heard the grumble emitting from the mid section of the bundle she was clued in enough. Going off she'd grabbed up a small fish, some seaweed and a bunch of sea berries not really sure what it would eat, left and gone about to find herself a spot to sleep in the vast ocean.

Today was her third visits and again it wailed, not quite as loud as the two times previous again she had sung with no sign of improvement. Could it be making the rumble again? What a fun little game, what was it anyway? It hadn't really dawned on her that it was a little creature much like herself but equipped for the land. Blinking at the little thing she leaned down and gave it a look over, as her questions flew through her mind.

The little purple bundle was indeed another creature but not yet old enough to express herself in any way other than to cry when her needs weren't being met. In fact she wasn't coherent enough to know or even think about her situation, just that she was hungry, thirsty and hadn't been moved for a span of time. The only aid she'd received was from the Syrin and things weren't looking terribly positive for her well being or long term survival, she wasn't aware of this fact, or what time was before this. Which was probably for the best, it would be a lot for an infant to take in.

The day felt like it had been a long one. Actually, his entire week had felt particularly rough for some reason. He'd been unusually busy and had little to no time to himself to relax and unwind, decompress from dealing with the younger and rowdier generation. He wasn't that old, but not having time to himself and constantly being around them and all their energy sure made him feel that way sometimes. In an attempt to get away from it all Aatu found himself walking to the nearby beach.

It was a pretty warm day. He figured the cool waters of the sea would be refreshing and just being able to lie in the warm sand would be therapeutic enough for him, however as he approached he noticed he wouldn't be having the beach to himself today. His brows furrowed ever so slightly at the sight of a Syrin on land, something he'd never seen or even thought of seeing one day. It was leaning over something, a small dark purple bundle that seemed to be making a soft wailing sound.

His ears perked. It was a sound he recognized, but he was thoroughly confused as to why he'd hear it here of all places. The wolftaur's pace quickened, wondering what in the world the Syrin would be doing with a wolftaur pup. His paternal instinct kicking in he asked as he approached. "What are you doing with this pup?"

The Syrin really should of been paying attention to her surroundings but with her game peeking her interests she hadn't really thought about anything else. If she could she would of probably run away or even slithered but that wasn't really an option for the sea tailed female. Instead she jumped on the spot and then giggled at her reaction, intrigued by the others words and even his form. "Pup?" She pointed at the small bundle who seemed to recoil from some basic instinct to survive and make itself less of a target. "Your pup?" She asked again curious, she didn't know what the word pup meant but from the concern she heard in the others tone she reckoned he did. Maybe it was his? Colour wise it didn't look much like the big stranger but she supposed those little floppy things at the side of it's head could grow and look like his.

The Syrin must not have been paying much attention if his presence surprised her like that. Aatu tilted his head at the giggling, wondering what in the world she might be giggling at. The way she responded to him probably shouldn't have surprised him so much. Why would a fish know what a pup, or any land based creature, is? It didn't seem like she was going to hurt the small thing, merely curious about what it was. "No, not my pup."

Deciding that the girl likely wasn't going to be any danger towards the little one Aatu reeled himself in a bit, his defenses lowering slightly and his tone having less of an edge. "But she does belong to someone. Have you seen any other wolftaur around? Er, any others that look like me?" The male kneeled down to get a better look at the pup, pulling the smelly seaweed off of her.

She was precious. Dark purple with a lighter purple swirling pattern and pretty purple skin. He reached down to pet her beautiful short dark hair, reminded of his little Loralei. A frown crossed his face and he looked up and around. "I don't smell any other wolftaur, just you. Where could her parents be?"

So the little purple thing was a pup and from that she came to the educated decision the it was a smaller version of the big half furry creature in front of her. Being very proud of herself for connecting those dots she smiled and thought of the stories she could tell others like herself if she should ever come across them. It wasn't his pup though, and she hadn't seen anyone or anything else around it, now she felt a pang of sympathy remembering her own growth alone.

How strange she thought to herself that they could look so different but hold such similar starts to life and it made her feel all fuzzy inside, as if she'd found a kindred spirit in the big ol' world. "No others, Come for three hot ball hidings and just me, Ligeria." She pointed to herself at the use of her own given name just to emphasize that it was she and she was Ligeria.

Without taking offence at the removal of the seaweed (for she had only been guessing at what would cure the infants wailing) she watched it pet the little purple pup with wide eyes. As the little purple pup seemed to settle it's wails slightly to the affection she found herself trying to sing again, a simple kind of hum that seemed so sweet and pure coming from something the didn't speak all that well.

The touch had indeed calmed her, it felt nice and she yearned for more it didn't cure all her needs for she was terribly thirsty but it was still a start. Without much movement she leaned her head into the strangers touch any instincts that told her to hide obviously vanquished at the pet. She wanted more, but she was also so weak and tired from lack of substance that even if she was big enough to support her own weight there was no way she was doing it on her own. This was a very new pup that just wanted the basics with perhaps even love, was that a basic? Depends who you asked but the singing once again as it had some time before helped and she had to resist the urge to sub come to slumber, only her dry throat serving as resilience.

"Hot balls...?" At this point Aatu had absolutely no clue what this Ligeria was saying, and he vaguely wondered if she had any idea either. He glanced over at the fish as she began to hum in response to the settling wails of the babe. It was a soothing sound that seemed to calm the little one more.

His attention was focused mostly on the pup, though. It seemed like she'd been here for too long without being taken care of, except by this Syrin if he were to guess by the berries, seaweed, and rotting fish next to her. Worried he picked the little girl up and cradled her in his arms, feeling how light she was. "She's been out here for a while, I'm surprised she's still alive. It doesn't look like anyone but you has been watching her, and no offense but I doubt a fish would know how to take care of a wolf pup."

Aatu was feeling it again. He couldn't leave this dark pup out here all alone, she'd die. If her family was looking for her they were doing a piss poor job, and he could do much better. Not only could he, but he decided he was going to. His family had been lost to him years ago, his little girl would be a teen and she'd be in his training course....he missed her so much, and her mother. He hadn't felt an attachment to anyone else and he was lucky to even fall in love with Ozara; he figured his family days had ended with them, and he felt cheated and lonely, like his new purpose in life had been taken away by a cruel fate and left him empty and lonelier than before. Now though, it looked like he was getting a second chance.

He'd take it. Fate would have to pry her from his cold, dead, bloody hands if it tried to take her away from him. Aatu hadn't realized that his eyes had gotten a bit watery while thinking about his deceased wife and daughter and so he blinked the water away and cleared his throat before speaking again. "I'll take her. I'll raise her as my own daughter, with a little help in the beginning since I can't really give her any milk but I don't think I'll have a hard time finding a nursing mother that would be willing to help."
