History: Kaylen lives in the hold nearest to Trine, working with her Master at her skill. She grew up very close to where she is now and has always lived on the southern continent. Her family consisted of her mother, her father and 5 younger sisters. Her father was a laborer who worked more in the jungles to cut down wood used for various things. Her mother working simply as a mother and teaching her girls the proper way a woman of a Hold should act. Something Kay never really learned.

Kay has always been a woman of her own mind and purpose. She tends to do things her own way, claiming that there is always a method to her madness. Because of this, her mother was never especially happy with her, though she never treated Kay any different than her other girls. When Kay's mother needed help, Kay was the one she turned to as the oldest daughter and the one who would someday lead a household of her own. Atleast in her mother's mind. Kay preferred when she was left with her younger siblings to entertain them with games and to teach them to think for themselves and to have fun as children while they still could.

When the events affecting the world began,(Metaplot) Kay had just turned 20 years old. She was close to becoming a journeywoman to her seamstress craft. Kay has always loved to work with her hands, and speak with her hands, so it seemed natural that she would take up sewing and weaving to create the fine clothes that the Weyr and the needed as well as Hold. She even was taught how to stitch up a wound, similar to a healer's type.

During the events, her hold supported Trine of course, But there were some who disagreed with the dragonriders having all the power and she had to try to shelter her sisters from that kind of talk. After all dragons protected us. Whers did too of course but they were killing others. That wasn't the way to get anything accomplished!

Once the revolutionists had finally taken over Malvern and Benden, while Trine remained strong, Kay moved closer to the Weyr, living in a hold just outside of it and travelling to the Weyr to help with supplies, such as making bandages, clothing, baskets. Anything her craft could allow. While also trying her best to keep peoples spirits up as well.

Description: Kay is a bright young woman, though she still retains many looks of a young girl. She stands very short, 5'2 at the most and is quite skinny as well. She has a young oval face with dark eyebrows inherited from her father. She also has dark brown eyes surrounded by thick dark eyelashes. She is quite tan as she prefers to sunbathe in her spare time and has long brown hair, reaching about her mid back that she keeps up in a braid or ponytail to keep it out of her face. AS her mother as well as Aunts have told her, she will look very young most of her life and she should enjoy it while it lasts but Kay does find it annoying to be asked how when she will be turning 18 turns...

Personality: Kay has a sweet personality after you get to know her. She is polite and quiet during first meetings but once she opens up, she really opens up. She loves to talk and sing and tell stories. She enjoys many an activity such as swimming, running, sunbathing and playing many types of games. She clearly enjoys her work and likes to speak during it. Even if it's to herself. She is known by her family as someone to be counted on and to be able to cheer up anyone. Though her family would also say she is not tactful when she gets onto a tangent. She might say the wrong thing and not even realized it until whoever she's talking to has grown angry and has left. She is always quick to apologize though, even if she doesn't understand what she might have done wrong.

Kay has always done her best to cheer people up. She never likes to see someone upset and so she does her best to keep that from happening. There is no such thing as a "no touch" rule to her as she tends to hug people without warning when she feels they need one. Hugs and affection to her are what are needed for those in any kind of pain.

Kay doesn't dream of something specific. She used to want to be a candidate as did everyone who knew of dragons. But after she aged out of candidacy her dreams had to change, so she began searching for a new one. She's still on her search, unsure of what she wants from her life other than to be happy and make those she cares about happy as well.

She has many fears of course. Fears of Thread, fears of the revolution. She isn't really a fearful person though, she likes to be the one to settle others fears. And the way she tries to deal with her fear is to channel it to something better. She usually does her work when she's afraid in a way to take her mind off things. One of her actual fears is Thunder. For some reason it always terrified her as a child and it has graduated to adulthood, though she tries to keep it hidden. After all Thread can score you, fire can burn you but Thunder is just noise. She shouldn't be afraid of it right?

Kay has problems with shyness at first and if she is fearful at that moment, she will lash out unless she is occupied. She has never been violent, though her friends would say otherwise as she does have a tendency to hit people in jest. If she is afraid and not being distracted, she is going to lash out in whatever way is possible, words or actions. She can be deeply ashamed of how she acts but she doesn't know how to really stop.

The most important thing in her life is unknown to her at the moment. She's still searching for something. But she does love her family and her friends and is loyal to those she considers both.
