All of the chaos resulting from the virus had been shoved aside and quickly forgotten by the whole of the gaming population. Despite how odd it was, it was honestly better that way. After all, who knew what Lab Tech would do to those that tried to look too far into it? Nocturne was familiar enough with the true face of the company to safely assume it wouldn't be anything pleasant. Lab Tech didn't like to be questioned or given anything except obedience.
There was a reason that a couple of the founding servers had been taken permanently offline.
Either way, life within Larmadia had long since jumped back into normality. Kitsune and Nocturne, too, had seemingly picked up right where they left off before the rift in their relationship (he'd made his apologies during the Down Time back then, after both their characters had been taken offline). They visited each other's servers just as frequently as they always had.
Today was a bit of a slow gaming day--on his own server, at least. Very few reports that required his immediate attention had come in, and it didn't seem likely there would be more. All of the usual troublemakers must be otherwise occupied--odd, but Nocturne wasn't complaining. He gated into Kitsune's realm like any other player did and set off through the Town of Beginning, expertly navigating through the crowds while seeking her out. He could have looked up her exact location within the town to save himself some time, but there wasn't a need to rush.

||Kitsune|| It had been some time since the incident with the virus, and Kitsune had spent most of that doing damage repairs to not just her Server, but to the people who resided within it, and visited it too. She had wronged a bunch of people, and even if it wasn’t her fault, she felt responsible for it. And as such, she had spent a number of Non-Negotiable Quests on people she owed big time. Easy things to do for big prizes. Not exactly the best way to fix things, but hey it was what she could do.
And today was no different. She had been forced to log in as always, but actually looked forward to it today. She had a few people who had been done with Quests who needed to turn in their things. So she had gated into the Town of Beginnings and went to the summoned location.
The moment Nocturne entered her server, Kit was aware of it. Perks of being a Server, after all. So she had finished up with the Quest-ees, then set off to meet her fellow Server half way.
“Slow day?” as if she didn’t already know the answer to that question. Her own Server seemed oddly void of problems and trouble makers today…

"Surprisingly. It always amazes me how quiet things are when Zephyr isn't around to ambush the hapless players on his hitlist."
Nocturne's tone was light despite the player in question. Zephyr was far from the only PK within the Server, but he was usually the one Nocturne got the most complaints about. He had an unfortunate penchant for pouncing upon his victims when they were returning from quests, taking them out before they'd had a chance to save, and ensuring they had to make the trek all over again. Nocturne's patience with the situation was wearing thin, but as there wasn't an official rule against PKing, he couldn't exactly threaten a character ban just for that.
Thankfully, the incidents had been less frequent in recent days. All the same, he shrugged, the motion carrying an unspoken "What can you do?" with it.
"And how are things going for the Mistress of the Non-Negotiable today?"

||Kitsune|| A scoff left Kit's lips at the mention of Zephyr. While he didn't directly cause trouble within Kitsune's server, he did cause frequent trouble for one of Kit's players, and when Ventus wasn't happy, there was always hell to pay. Ventus was trouble on her own, so the pair the two trouble makers?
Not okay.
But, she said nothing about this and left her feelings over the matter with her scoff. She lead the way away from the center of town and off to the side so that they were no longer mingled within the flow of traffic. Her gaze swept the faces around her for a moment out of old habit before she refocused on Nocturne and sighed.
"I've had four different new players file complaints about PK'ers today alone. I've sent all four on separate Quests - well, two of them are together, but all four have been hit when reaching the end. Not by Zephyr, I checked. And this Pk'er - or PK'ers as far as I know - wait until these players are at the Gott Statues, then strike."
Kit shook her head and leaned against the railing she had lead Nocturne to, "I have no leads on who it is, the players have yet to see a face. But I've given up for the day." she waved a hand as if dismissing the idea of hunting further away. "I quit for the day."
Yeah right.

He followed along as Kit set about relocating them, nodding to the players that Server pair caught the attention of, and leaned back against the railing himself once they reached it. The issue that was laid out caused him to frown. On one hand, it was nice to know one of his most troublesome charges wasn't attacking people on other Servers too, but on the other...
"Even better--more of them picking up his bad habits."
Nocturne frowned all the more and crossed his arms over his chest, annoyed at the mere idea let alone the act, but once her last statement had been uttered, he lowered them to his sides again. A thoughtful sound followed the movement--he knew Kit well enough to know the likelihood of her actually giving up on it was fairly low, despite her frustration. Or maybe, rather, because of it.
After all, there were very few things his fellow Server hated more than PKs. And ones that preyed on new players to boot? That was the quickest possible way for them to get on the wrong side of her infamous temper.
"Well, you have two options," he replied, turning to Kit and holding up one finger, then another as he listed them. "You can drop a hint about the problem to Skyfall and call it a day or...we can set a trap."

||Kitsune|| Two options? Kit’s eyes narrowed a little, yet she managed to loft a brow at the same time. She didn’t ever like to have multiple options, it meant choices. And choices had never gotten any of them very far since all of this had happened. But as Nocturne explained, her expression lightened and she actually seemed to considered these options.
One, walk away and save the issue for another day.
Two, put more work in for the day and avoid Down Time a little longer. (With the added bonus of Nocturne company.)
“Alright. Any suggestions for a trap?” offering up a player to be ambushed was hardly the right thing to do, but hey. If it was for the greater good, what could it hurt? And Kitsune and Nocturne both could make it up to whomever was chosen with rare items, right?
It was justifiable, even if it wasn’t practical.

"Not player-wise."
He might have asked Adelphie for the favor if she had still counted as "new" and, more importantly, it didn't clash so badly with his "protective brother" mindset. Tossing other players into a dangerous situation was fine enough (especially when he had a protection plan of sorts in mind by giving the chosen player a Wing of the Phoenix beforehand), but even if the harm was only done to the game character... Not happening where she was concerned.
"As for the rest..." Nocturne tipped his head to the side, considering. "Were the players hit right after entering the statue room like whoever's responsible was lying in wait, or was there a delay like they were being followed?"
If the PK(s) waited in the statue room, a possibility was having their assistant message them when outside it and then abuse quick travel in order to enter right after and freeze whoever was causing trouble. If the targeted players were being stalked, though, that might be a bit more tricky...

[quote="Arlunia'] ||Kitsune|| No suggestion for players to trap? Well, she certainly had a pair come to mind that made her smirk in amusement. “What about Ventus and Zephyr? They may not be new players, but a mere pair of players compared to having to take out an entire band of newbies? I would be tempted…”
Not just the win of the items, but to trump a pair of characters like Ven and Zephyr?
Though his following question earned a noise in the back of Kit’s throat, “From what I understand, the PK’er lays in wake until the victims have their items from the chest at the base of the statue. Then springs the attack. So it’s the loot, taking the prizes and the experience away from the players.”
She sighed and folded her arms, “Sounds like your typical internet bully to me…”

He blinked at the named pair--it was a good point. Not to mention the way they would be at each other's throats... Or just Ven literally at Zephyr's, considering he seemed endlessly amused at her and kept his antagonism mostly to his words unless in self defense. Either way, it would only bolster a PK's temptation and confidence in success even more. And it'd be easy too, at least where Nocturne was concerned. Zephyr would accept the idea without a second thought because for all the times he was contrary simply for the sake of being as such, there was no way the Reaper would pass up a chance like this.
"You, Kitsune," he replied, an approving grin with a mischievous edge in place, "are brilliant. Though I have to say, I'm not jealous of the initial outburst of protest you're going to have to face."
There was a nod to the rest of her words, the frown from earlier already starting to make a comeback before he waved a hand and repeated what he'd been thinking. "In that case, we can have them notify us when they reach the end and abuse our administrative powers to quick travel over there and freeze the PK."
(Annnd this plot continues over here)
