There was only ever one man for her and he's dead. Or missing or something. (The stories vary.) But basically anyone else is gonna have to be a lady.
Faction: Alchemist
Although she tries to keep opinions neutral which is good since she has customers of all persuasions.
Occupation: Cook and Cafe Owner.
She wanted to be an alchemist with the police but she was let go during training because of her explosive temper. Her father felt pity pride in letting her take over his business instead and she's expanded his bakery to a soup and sandwich cafe.
Physical Appearance: Short and curvy with dark olive skin and dark eyes.
Theo often keeps her hair pinned or tied up out of the way of her work and has some obvious gray from stress. Her youth instead is in her friendly charm and confidence. She's often wearing a long apron and part of what she's serving that afternoon despite an otherwise neat and clean appearance.
Theo does come extracurvy. As one well knows you must never trust a skinny cook, and she could use all of the trust she can get if you're taking a risk on her 'newer' soups.
Personality: Sweet, but stressed.
A kind, friendly woman with a soft, warm voice. Theo's a ray of sunshine in the oasis of her restaurant and tries to come out and greet her customers regularly. She is the type of woman you would think makes the perfect mom. Regular customers know otherwise though. She's a lot more stressed and... "honest" when she's in the kitchen. And if any one of her "dislikes" are present in excess she starts to get nervous. The problem is that most people read this as a shy, stuttering meekness when actually she's trying to keep her emotions in check. Once she breaks down she can get pretty furious, in which case she can be calmed with a little quiet and maybe a drink.
She's closes the shop early on Wednesdays for therapy.
Flaws: Her temper. Overprotective of for her son. She can be gullible. She shakes when she's nervous and has to sit down. Theo is also not very good when it comes to making desserts, even though she has nothing against them.
Back Story: She had a pretty steady, uneventful life growing up. She lived with just her father (a baker) looking after her and aspired to be a police-worker. She had a talent for botanical alchemy in school and started to apprentice with the police, hoping to make use of her alchemical work in law. Her growing bad habits got her dismissed from her apprenticeship, however, and she wound up baking with her father instead, eventually opening the soup and baked-goods cafe she owns now. Her husband farmed fish and her son knew his father til he was about 6 before he disappeared. Theo's still running the bakery and helping to keep her son in school. She hopes he'll be the policeman she couldn't be.
Talents and Skills: She has always had a talent for botanical alchemy. She doesn't have a green thumb, but what she can do with plants is her talent. Theo is handy with a knife and can also make a meal out of anything.
Research: Her botanical talent was mostly medicinal, so she continues to grow drugs along with what herbs and vegetables they make for the cafe. Sometimes these end up in the soup she makes and her customers end up the guinea pigs. There's a saying that if the soup is extremely delicious that day you may end up very sick the next. Other days a tasteless soup can give you vitality all day. It's safest to go with the regular stuff on the menu.
Hobbies: Her alchemy is pretty much her hobby, all of the rest of her time is spent cooking for the shop and spending time with her son in the garden.
