"What I mean is that the look on your face doesn't exactly scream 'I know nothing of this piece', if anything, it just seemed like you may have known something given what your face looks like but apparently you don't" she said as she shrugged "I can't tell you any more then what I just did, believe it or not, I am sticking to what I said" she said, knowing that he was totally going to be suspicious now but what could she do? The note said tell no one so she was intending on doing that even if he was her father. Besides, there was something he said, I said nothing like that comes from any Pae on the Isle... does that mean it is a Deity piece? As in a piece of jewellery from the Gods? No, it couldn't be, to Lust it was just a beautiful necklace but perhaps the God was right though, if the Pae don't have means yet as to how to make something like this then the only other explanation that she could think of is that it was something from the Gods.
Lust shook her head to clear it, pushing that thought to the back of her mind and looked at him "they may not have the means but that doesn't mean this piece couldn't be found, this Isle isn't exactly a young so this necklace could easily be found if someone cared to look" she said, knowing she was, a little, clutching at straws but without actually coming out and stating that someone gave it to her and she goes but the name of 'mother' she had to do what she was doing as much as she hated lying to her father.

Himeros had already fixated on something else she'd said. She was wrong again, of course, but her comment about there not being any books. He knew very well that plenty of Pae had collected some books in their homes from some old place called the HQ that wasn't around anymore. And that new floating city was supposed to have a heck of a library in it...perhaps he'd have to take a look...
Oh wait, she was talking again.
He tuned back in to her latest excuse, raising an eyebrow. "And if it is as old as you think it is? Did you not think twice about who or what it may have belonged to before? There are many things other than Pae in the world. Maybe it's a human relic...maybe elven. Maybe aliens or Yetis, or accursed by demons from the dark, fiery circles of the Underworld. If it was as easy to find as you say, then maybe there's a reason everyone else left it where it was? Oh, but it was pretty, so I'm sure it was fine to put on," he finished with a flippant wave of his hand. Honestly, he hadn't a clue about the thing, but he couldn't help reminding the child that there were more things in the world that she had no knowledge of to be trying to lecture a Deity on 'old strange pieces of jewelry supposedly found in caves'.

"Alright, so you raise a good point but it is too late now, whats done is done she said getting up "I can't say anything more then what I have" she said walking past him "whatever happens to me is my burden and if I die then thats the risk I will take" she said as she walked over to the middle of the temple and looked around, Venus and the Gods did a good clean up job, you wouldn't of thought that witch nearly destroyed the place "Father" she said turning around "I may have found this necklace" yes, she was still carrying on with the story "but I promise, I will be alright, something inside me is telling me I will be fine" she said, knowing her instincts were not exactly the best thing to go by considering but still, she truly didn't feel like some huge yeti was going to come and kill her just to take a necklace back.

I can't say anything more then what I have.
Nope, not suspicious at all. Cause, obviously, if she just found it in a cave as she claimed and took it, it would have come with instructions on not talking about it. Seems legit.
Still, he thought he might as well push further. "Too late? Is it? You know, maybe I'm being simple, but uh...why don't you just put it back? If there's something wrong with it, why not get rid of it?" He ignored her following declaration about how everything would be fine and whatnot. At this point, he was little concerned about what happened to her if she was so insistent on lying to his face, and badly. She could believe what she wanted, but he got a weird feeling about all of this. Perhaps some research, if only to sate his own curiosity.

Alright so she wasn't the worlds best liar but meh, who cares, she wasn't about to tell him where she got it from or at least whom she got it from "I could but I admit that I am sort of attached to it now" she said, knowing her father was not going to accept that answer but oh well "I could take it off but putting it back? May be a bit of a problem, I can't even remember where the cave was I got it from, my memory isn't that great but I could just bury it, I am sure the original owner would love to play Pirate, unfair as it may be for them."

"You're attached to it now?" he questioned in disbelief. Really? They were just talking about how potentially dangerous the object could be, and she's arguing to keep it cause it was pretty? The urge to smack himself in the forehead was strong.
Instead, Himeros just shook his head. "Who cares if you put it back or just throw it in the damn ocean? I was talking about just getting rid of the thing! Ugh, whatever, like you said, it's your life," he rolled his eyes. If she didn't seem so determined to actively put herself into trouble, he'd question whether or not it was his responsibility to like...assign an extra Mellon to watch out for her and keep her from killing herself in everyday life.
Nah.

"Well, to be fair, I sort of fell in love with it as soon as I had finished cleaning it up and properly saw it" she said, knowing it was a stupid reply but meh, she wasn't about to tell him anything about Mother so it had to be kept a secret regardless how stupid she looked...and yes, she DID know how stupid she was looking but hey, mother was to be kept a secret so... "exactly, my life, and if I actually feel like walking on the potentially dangerous side of life I will" she said as she stopped and thought for a few moments about what this might mean and wondered if her father was right. "Alright, so you do have a good point..." she said as reached up and tried to unclasp the necklace but couldn't and decided to try and pass it off as her just deciding against it "but you know what? I think I will just leave it on, just for a little bit longer" she said, silently wondering why the hell she can't get it off but that was something she was going to have to try at home, trying it now, with her Father here, it will just end up bringing up more questions and she still had to badly lie again and...yeeeah, her stupidity can be called into question again later.
"I promise, once I get home I will take it off" she said, worry could be heard in her voice a little but she was trying to keep it together as much as she could, it wasn't exactly old, the clasp should be easy to undo and do up so why couldn't she get it off?! The little voice of reason she usually ignores popped into her head telling her that she was an idiot and that it wasn't a good sign. Lust shook her head to clear it "I know you don't like this but I will put it back in the box when I get home" she said, wondering what hunting tools of her fathers she could use.

"Yeah, and if you wanna' go hand-feed some alligators while you're at it, have fun," he snapped back. If she was going to be snippy, so could he. Good grief. 'Walking on the potentially dangerous side of life'....oy.
He watched her reach up to remove the necklace, finally acknowledging that he had a good point. About time. Then, she hesitated? No, that wasn't hesitation, she'd tried to take it off, then said something about changing her mind. Interesting...it wouldn't come off? Ha! Talk about a definite sign that something wasn't right. But, if that's how she wanted to play it.
"Suit yourself. It's your neck, so I really don't care what you do," he said with a flippant wave of his hand. He glanced out of the temple at the position of the sun. "Well, it's been 'fun' and all," he quipped dryly. "But I think I have other business to get to, so, you have fun with your pretty new babble, kid. Best of luck with that."
With that, he snapped his fingers and it was as if a curtain dropped unseen, the Deity disappearing from view.
Nafretiti (Figured this was basically finished, but I like having a wrap-up for completion's sake.)
