Server Information

The Nocturne Server is best known for having tougher enemies and a higher chance of scoring rare items because of that. Some of the strongest monsters within Larmadia can be found lurking within its Southern and Western areas and thus it's a popular destination for higher-level players seeking a challenge.
The Server's namesake is not fond of PKs in the least, but he tends to leave them alone until they make themselves a problem. Active PKKs are a bit spoiled and much more likely to get rare weapons or a Flute of Beckoning from completing whatever Quests they choose to do.

Please note that non-moderator/Server characters cannot draw weapons in areas without monsters. The "safe zones" are: City of Twilight, Labyrinth Gardens, Rising Falls, and Grand Cathedral. Moderators and Servers do have the power to unlock player's weapons, but it's almost never done.

There are seven locations you can choose from when making a new thread. If you've been given a quest and it doesn't specify one of them, however, your post should go over here instead. Either way, don't forget to mark your thread as "Open" or "Private" somewhere in the title! To avoid development crashing, Private threads are only between invited characters.

Server Areas

City of Twilight
The City of Twilight has two times of 'day'--sunset and night. The twin moons that hang in the sky and the stars that fill it can be seen during both of these times, though during sunset only about a handful of stars are visible.
This town, like the whole of the Nocturne Server, is nearly constantly bathed in the cool dark of night. Nonetheless, the city and its citizens are quite lively.

The buildings that make up the city are made of mostly brick or stone in a Baroque architecture style, giving the city both a grand and historical feel. Old fashioned street lamps lit by flames that never seem to go out occupy the streetcorners, while the sidewalks have more modern lights embedded in the pavement to light the way--the buildings have lights above the doorways, and in the windows as well.

There are four gates leading in and out of the city, one at each point of the compass--North, South, East, and West. Various shops for supplies are at each of these gates to allow those coming or going to restock easily. To the North are the Rising Falls, the Grand Cathedral beyond them. To the South lies the Serynn Jungle. In the East, the Fields of Blue can be found after passing through the Labyrinth Gardens. To the West are other lands waiting to be explored--but be warned, beyond the Western River are monsters that are strong even by Nocturne Server standards.

Rising Falls
Out of the city's North Gate past a plain where wolves stalk the ground and predatory birds attack from the skies, lies a valley and the Rising Falls. From the plain, a stone bridge extends out over a small valley to the Grand Cathedral.
The valley however, is like a large stone bowl, with water pouring unendingly down the sides and collecting in a lake about five feet below the bridge. The water level of the small lake never rises, much as the waters of the falls never stop flowing.

Grand Cathedral
The Grand Cathedral rests just past the lake the bridge passes over. Like the buildings of the city, the cathedral is also built in a Baroque style, with a dome over the center. Under the dome is the Grand Cathedral altar, upon which a statue of a girl in a flowing dress stands, though no one seems to know who she is supposed to be. When the orange sunset light filters through the window behind the statue and illuminates it, however, it is quite beautiful regardless.

The center walkway is lined with seven rows of pews set over the polished marble floor of the Grand Cathedral, and Nocturne can often be found here when not assisting players.

Labyrinth Gardens
Less than a mile from the City's East gate, down a small, winding dirt path, are the Labyrinth Gardens. True to their name, the Gardens provide a set of three natural mazes, though it's not too terribly difficult to find one's way through them.

Many types of flowers can be found (though roses are the majority) everywhere throughout the Gardens, thriving in moonlight. Instead of butterflies flitting around, one will find various types of moths. This area of the Nocturne Server seems to be most popular for meeting others before heading out on quests or just to explore, and the phrase "Meet me in the Gardens," is quite common.

Fields of Blue
The Fields of Blue are just beyond the Gardens of Labyrinth. The Fields, despite their name, are actually a large expanse of very green prairie-like lands dotted with the occasional tree--however, it is always raining lightly in the area. The clouds never part, and the stars are never seen. Many have said that because of the constant rain, the whole place has a somewhat melancholy feel to it. Therefore, you have the Fields of Blue.
Because the clouds block out the star and moonlight, the path leading to them from the gardens continues on through the fields, and some considerate soul has placed rather bright lamps along it.

The monsters that roam here are mostly of the Goblin mage and knight sort, though weaker versions of those creatures found in the Serynn Jungle are also known to roam here. The enemies found here are relatively strong by most of the other Server's standards, but on the Nocturne Server they are considered only medium strength.
It is not impossible for lower-level players to make it through this area, but in order to do so it is recommended they have at least one mid-level player accompanying them to make things easier.

Serynn Jungle
The sprawling Serynn Jungle lies to the South of the City and is filled with all sorts of vicious monsters waiting to tear into unwary adventurers. Most of these are large cat and wolf-like creatures or vulture birds with oddly colorful plumage, but there are rumors a dragon or two reside within the heart of the untamed tropical forest.

Despite the cool night air of the area around it, the jungle itself is humid to the point it's uncomfortable, and weaker armors and weapons have a tendency to rust because of the moisture in the air.
This is where the higher-level players are usually sent to quest, since the jungle is also host to all sorts of rather malicious plants that would like very much to trap unfortunate travelers and do as much through poisonous pollen or emitted sleeping powder and vines that ensnare.

Western Expanse
The Western Expanse is composed mostly of places unnamed. Like the Serynn Jungle, stronger monsters roam here, though the terrain beyond the river is more unforgiving than the jungle--it is said not even Nocturne himself has traveled the whole of the Western lands.

As one approaches the Western River (which is also known as the Silent River, due to the fact it is nearly frozen and flows slowly with little noise) through the large, green field before it, one will notice an almost harsh drop in temperature. The forest and small mountain range beyond the river are frozen almost solid, with a generous blanket of snow over everything. It is not always snowing in the Western lands past the river, but there is an ever-present, freezing wind.
