Five trained specialists chosen by the Zodiac admins wield the power of the cosmic heralds. Through the use of the SDriver they fight the evil space syndicate, VEGA. These brave young men and women who risk the lives to preserve our peace and tranquility, The Ryusei Sentai (Shooting Star Squadron)... Gaiaman! SHINE ON!!

This is a tokusatsu super sentai creation of mine in which will ultimately feature as a group entry in the original arena. Though this focus on usual Super Sentai traidition, this will exclude the use of traditional Sentai/PR style suits and focus more on the franchise in aesthetic and essence.

What is Super Sentai!?

This Japanese product is one of longest running children series in the Tokusatsu history. Tokusatsu (Masked Hero) is a genre of live action shows that involve a protagonist being a Henshin (Transformation) based Super Hero. Tokusatsu started as far back as the 1960's using several one off series being made and shown again each year using a different Motif which is more prominently know in the series such as Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.

Super Sentai, from the success of the Kamen Rider franchise Toei decides to focus on creating another project named Sentai (Task force). Essentially a series that is focused on team or group of multicolored heroes that are often made of 3 - 5 members. This first of this series released in 1975 are Five Colored heroes called Go-Ranger.

Till this day Super Sentai has continued it's 36 year long franchise with several North American adaptations along the way, 2012's current Super Sentai is Tokumei Sentai (Special Ops Cell) Go-Busters.

Sentai Tropes, Concepts and Designs

Ryusei Sentai Gaiaman:

Ryusei Sentai (Shooting Star Taskforce) Gaiaman is a Astrology motif sentai that uses a Liveman/ Go-onger team color scheme of the primary three members being Red, Blue, Yellow with additional members added on with colors (Green, Black, Pink, White, Gold, Silver, Etc). By utilizing the power of the Gaian Zodiac Admins though the use of EM (eletromagnetic) light wave materialization; we battle the forces of the evil galactic alien syndicate, VEGA.

Unlike the group entry's predecessor; this group has allowed more liberal contruct with the design. Instead of creating the traditional colored spandex and what not; this entry promotes creating one's own individual characters based on specific color traits for each sentai member's individual character.

(Sorry for Gokaiger, really pushing it on copyright infringement...)

VEGA:

Our series antagonist which like many Sentai Villains in the past have quite unique and heavily layered designs. Though they are design to follow an alien motif, they are not just limited to simple alien designs because we know a hero is a hero but everyone loves a good villain.
Here are a few examples of a tokusatsu villain/monster designs.

Mecha:

One of the major cornerstones of the Sentai franchise today in which the end of every battle finishes off with an epic giant monster bout. Many of these giant Mecha's are comprised of a single transforming unit to combination varying from three to more of a giant mecha components form a massive combination or a Gattai if you will.
