Occupation: Despite her dreams to become a full-time Alchemist, her research never brought her enough the scrape by, let alone live comfortably. So she now works as a waitress/gardener in Theodore Bynk's cafe in Victoria's Square. Not like that's a huge leap or anything. But whatever.
Physical Appearance: Elka is a pretty normal height for her age, (or at least she'd like to think so) she has a pert little head filled shaggy blonde hair and eyes so bright they'd knock a cat dead. Airiselkä is extremely fair-skinned, so failed tanning attempts and empty sunscreen bottles abound her place of residence. She has a favorite necklace that she made herself, it's a cute little planet at first glance, but if you look closer it has little weather systems moving around and tiny cities light up when it's dark.
Personality: Ah, Elka. She's friendly enough, if you say hi or something like that she'll say hello right back. Once you approach her she's actually reasonably sociable. Elka's pretty smart, she got through school just fine but teachers agree that had she put her heart into her schoolwork (What? Heart into school?) it's more than likely that she would have gotten top marks or some s**t like that.
Flaws: Airiselkä is in her head a lot. Like maybe even to the point where she might maybe possibly have a mental condition. She overanalyzes and drops outrageous thoughts like bombs in the middle of a conversation. Elka's also not incredibly strong-willed. Especially when it comes to men. Or women. It's happened before. She doesn't view herself as a slut as much as someone who just doesn't know how to say no.
Back Story: Airiselkä Mathil Ede was born in the City Hospital, room 24B at 3:54 AM on a smoggy Tuesday as a firstborn to Fredrick and Ava Ede, a young couple recently immigrated to the City from the lands far to the north. Fredrick was a policeman, and earned a steady enough pay for Ava to stay home and tend to baby Airiselkä and their snowy hound, Musket. Later a pair of twins, Camille and Gerold, would find their way into the Ede household. Elka's parents are both alive, currently residing in a comfortable apartment near the Alchemist territory. She visits monthly.
Talents and Skills: Elka never really meant to get into carving, but she hung out with the artsy kids durning her teenage years, so I guess birds of a feather flock together. She enjoys putting skillful rendering of birds and beasts and life of all kinds onto her work, which you will find out about momentarily.
Research: Ms. Ede's work is an unholy combination of alchemy and something that would usually be classified as engineer work. She builds weapons that use Alchemy to pack a heavier punch in a lighter package than normal. Her most basic model is a small handgun that utilizes the energy produced from an alchemic reaction and condenses it into small clusters not unlike a bullet. The power of the weapon varies greatly from user to user, depending on their experience and ability.
Hobbies: Elka enjoys tending to her small garden when away from work and projects. She grows a few flowers around the house, but most of her space is reserved for herbs and edibles. Especially her beloved mint plant. She loves chewing on it's leaves.
