Tshila smirked slightly as he visibly relaxed. "That's not all that's magical," she teased, moving to massage his occipital region, while keeping her ear on the kettle so she'd know when to pull it off the fire. "A movie sounds great," she told him, as she slowly moved her her fingers back to the top of his head, easing up slightly before removing her hands. He had great hair--nice and thick, and surprisingly soft for a guy. And of course those abs. And that chest. Daaaamn. Come to think of it, the number of times she'd seen him without a shirt were starting to outnumber the number of times she'd seen him with a shirt. Not that she minded, but it was kind of funny. "Why don't I get your tea, then we can pick something out? It seems like it would be more relaxing for you than a board game. I mean, not that I don't think you're up to a board game, but you need to rest, know what I mean?" She left him there and hurried back to the kitchen where she quickly washed her hands (not that she thought his hair was dirty but it just seemed polite not to make him tea when she'd just been rubbing her hands all over his scalp) before pouring him a cup of the lemon ginger tea. She found a little pot of sugar and brought it along with the cup and a spoon, just in case he wanted it. "Here you go," she told him, setting it on the coffee table in front of the sofa. "It should also help with the headache if it hasn't gone away yet, you know? It's what my dad always gave me when I'm sick, before I moved away."

Xeiro leaned up into a sitting position as Tshila went to grab his tea. He slouched down into the couch and propped his legs up as he awaited her return. His head was feeling better and a movie sounded just wonderful. "Yeah, I think you're right." The thought of having to form a strategy just seemed very draining. He sighed and placed his head back along the edge of the couch before she returned to him. He smiled faintly and dropped his feet so he could reach the sugar and place a small amount into the tea. He stirred a few times before placing the spoon onto the table and taking the cup in both hands. He took extra care while falling back into his comfy zone to be sure that he didn't spill any onto himself. It would not be very good to add burns to the mix of things that were already wrong with him. He took a sip and turned his head to look over at Tshila with heavy eyes. "The few movies we have are over there." He pointed towards a rack. "We've got a little bit of everything. I'd be willing to watch whatever you like."
He smiled again and picked his head back up to take another drink. The tea was so nice and warm. It just really made him want to take a nap. "Thanks, by the way. The tea is very good." He rose his mug a little in acknowledgement. "Your dad must be very smart. The massages, the tea, all great fixes." He said with a smile and stared longingly in the direction of the DVDs. Nothing in particular was jumping out to him, though he wasn't sure he even knew what half of those movies were about. He turned his head to look back at Tshila after skimming his eyes along the movies. He felt like he should probably get up and help her put the movie in. But the couch was just so darn comfortable that he never wanted to leave it. Maybe once she picked something out he'd stumble his way over there and take care of it.

"I'll try to pick something good!" Tshila said, determined to do just that as she went over to where Xeiro had indicated the movies to be. "Though, to be honest? I totally do not have much experience with movies. I mean, you know, didn't have much time to watch them as a kid and we didn't even have a TV and stuff. When I joined my first performing troupe, it was just like, no. I mean, I was practicing twelve hours a day when I wasn't performing so there was just no time for that, know what I mean?"
She trailed her finger over the movie titles, feeling a little embarrassed that she didn't recognize any of them. She had to kind of pull them out and look at the cover to even get an idea of what they were about. There seemed to be a lot of them that had explosions and sweaty guys with guns. And, well, that did seem like something Xeiro would like. And she didn't really mind sweaty guys either. So she pulled one out and decided they'd totally watch it. Though the title sounded kind of depressing. She turned around and smiled as he thanked her. "No problem. I mean, I'm glad to help." She laughed a little, her expression softening when he mentioned her father. "Yeah, he's great. I mean, I haven't seen him in years but he's totally a great dad. I mean, even when I told him I was running away to join the circus, he was just totally supportive. And he taught me, you know, all sorts of great things when I was growing up. I guess, you know, he was trying to make up for the fact that my mother sort of ditched us and all that." She turned back to the television, trying to figure out which button opened the little player thingie, finally figuring it out after about the third one. She popped open the case and set the disc in the player, going through the same routine of pushing random buttons to try to turn the television on and get the player on and to get it to actually start playing. Damn. This was hard! Technology was totally not her thing.

Xeiro was sipping nonchalantly from his cup as he watched Tshila skim through the movies. It was relieving to know that she didn't know much about movies. Maybe that meant that she wouldn't see how weird and obscure their movie variety was. It largely consisted of lots of explosions and very little plot, super cheesy romance, or creepy little cartoons. Each of these categories corresponding with one member of the households odd tastes. He was happy to see that she finally found something that appeared to be worthwhile. "I'm really sorry. It must be tough to have had to push yourself so hard. I know it's not close at all, but my father always rode me pretty hard about basketball. It was my entire life all throughout school." He stopped to take another sip. Was it just this girl making him sensitive or was it the damn illness? He was never too comfortable with opening up about these sorts of things. Yet here he was sitting on his couch ready to tell this girl his whole life story. She was practically a stranger, and all he wanted to do was snuggle up under this blanket and sob about his life. He should probably stop himself while he still seemed to be somewhat of a man.
Xeiro liked listening to her talk about her father. Her entire demeanor seemed to perk up some more, if that was even possible. He even thought for a moment that he wanted to meet her dad, up until the point where he realized that he might be older than him. That would be weird. Maybe she wasn't as young as she looked. She probably just looked great for her age. Why else would she be interested in an old guy like him? He should just ask her how old she was. That was the best way to find out, right? No, that was a bad idea. Women didn't like talking about their age, especially if she did happen to be older. He had to push that thought quickly out of his mind before he blurted something out. He placed his mug on the table and almost jumped up to help her figure out the TV, but she finally got it working. He grabbed for the blanket off of the back of the couch and draped it over his lap.
He smiled up at her. "He really sounds like a great guy. I don't think I'd be able to handle my daughter running off like that. Though, I'm glad that he taught you so much, otherwise I'd be in a lot worse shape right now." He laughed slightly as he tugged the blanket up towards his chest. "I am truly sorry about your mom. I know what that can feel like. My wife actually walked out on me. After I had caught her cheating on me, no less." He balled his hand into a fist around the blanket just thinking about it. He was certain that he had never talked about this with anyone before, besides a few snippets to Beatrice, but even that only included the bare essentials needed to explain going to prison.

"Oh, but I really enjoyed it, so it wasn't so bad," Tshila said, letting out a little cry of victory when the movie started playing. She stood still a moment, just to make sure it wasn't going to explode or something, before retreating back to the sofa, listening as Xeiro spoke about his ex-wife. Well, she just assumed it was ex, considering. Because she just kind of assumed divorce happened after the woman walked out because otherwise, it would be kind of awkward... "Well, I mean, I never knew my mother. She was gone before I was very old..." She fidgeted as the credits started rolling, not sure what else to say. And unfortunately, when she didn't know what to say, she had a tendency to start babbling. She was fighting with herself, trying to ensure she didn't just start talking and talk and talking but the moment she opened her mouth, she knew she'd lost. The words just spilled out in an unending stream meant to make him feel better but she figured she would probably just end up annoying him, since that's what usually happened. "I'm sorry you went through something like that, though. I mean, you don't deserve something like that, you really don't. You definitely deserve someone who's happy to be just with you, you know?" "I mean, I know you can't really force people to feel the way you want them to and if they choose to be with someone else then it's totally their right but, I mean, it still hurts. I can...I mean, like you said, it's not the same? But I can kind of understand how you must have felt. My last boyfriend, well, after nine months, I found out he was seeing, you know, three other girls. Which was totally not cool because I was really serious about him and then it was over like it meant nothing. And the guy before that sort of publicly dumped me for this other performer he'd been getting close to for a couple of months before and it was such a huge, dramatic mess that I had to leave that troupe. And the guy before that, well, he just stopped returning my calls and I found out he had started dating the guitarist in his band. Not that I have any hard feelings or anything because relationships end all the time and that's normal.""But I just think that, you know, if it has to end, you don't have to do it in a way that hurts the other person." Tshila turned toward Xeiro and, with only a little hesitation, reached up to touch his cheek. She didn't want to catch whatever he had but making him feel better was definitely more important. "But I mean, if she was the one who walked out on you, it was totally her loss, not yours."

Xeiro looked at the TV, hoping that maybe this would be a good transition to stop talking about any of the personal things they had both shared previously. He didn't so much mind her talking about her own life, but he had a feeling that it would only cause him to want to share something of his own. He took the blanket and shifted it to cover her lap as well before quickly turning his attention back to the movie. It wasn't long until she said something and he was drawn to look back at her. He was happy to hear that she had chosen to talk about her mother. However, that was short lived. In the space of time that was allowed to form, he was unable to form some sort of thought to add in. That, unfortunately, led to her working her way back around to the unfortunate thing that he had mentioned. He nodded his head and tried to turn back to the movie without looking like he was trying to ignore her. He didn't trust himself to not snarl up or maybe start crying. Either option wasn't exactly something that he would be proud of.
As she began to talk of all of her failed relationships, he dared to look back at her. How could so many guys do that to her? She was the whole package. She was beautiful, nice, funny, caring, and who could forget super flexible? What more could there possibly be? He continued to listen, shaking his head occasionally. How could she not have hard feelings towards all of them? Xeiro had often fantasized that he had killed Bela when he had the chance. Yet here Tshila was without any anger. That in itself just proved how perfect she was. When she touched his cheek, his heart began to pound. He was already feeling so vulnerable, why in the world would she have to say something like that? He felt like something might be happening in his eyes, but it had been so long since he had actually cried that he was unsure what that felt like. "If neither of us had ever felt how much that hurt, we wouldn't be able to understand each other right now." He lifted his hand up to hers and held it against his face.
In that moment, everything felt better. He almost couldn't feel the throbbing in the back of his head. "All of those men made the biggest mistakes of their lives." He thought about kissing her for a split second before he remembered just exactly why she was here in the first place. He should not be spreading germs right now, even if he wasn't supposed to be contagious. Plus, they were both super vulnerable right now. It was very possible that she didn't really want to tell him all of that. He should give her plenty of time to realize what she really wanted. "Though, I have to admit that I'm glad they're gone."

"That is true," Tshila said, smiling up at him as she ran her thumb across his cheek. She pulled her hand away more so she wouldn't stop him from relaxing than fear of germs. pulling her legs up on the sofa, she moved slightly closer--not quite close enough to be snuggling but closer than she'd sit to a random stranger for sure. "Well, I don't know. I mean, apparently I suffocate people or something," she said, watching as an alien space craft on the television, slowly moved into an ominously threatening position over some random city. "Not literally, I mean! I mean, that would be a little creepy if I had a habit of actually suffocating people but, you know, I guess when I try to help it can be annoying. But I mean, if I'm ever being annoying, just tell me and I'll totally try to...stop?" She glanced at Xeiro and smiled again. "But...I mean, all things happen for a reason right? And I'm also glad we're both here now."She looked back at the television as people understandably went into a panic over the aliens. She had to admit that if an alien spaceship that size, was hovering over Nirvani, she'd be a little nervous. Hmm. It would be really great if they had emergency submarines...

Nope. Morgan was in denial. There was no way that a complete stranger had just flung off her short like that. He just had to dig deep and mentally block that out. With a dismissive smile, he shrugged without batting an eye. “Sounds good to me.” Totally unfazed--He grimaced when he accidentally jerked his cue stick into his gut during his turn to try to shoot. Focus! He had to pay attention because Lyra threw him between a rock and a hard place. To strip or not to strip? That was the question. Pft. He was obviously going to pick the latter even if he was going to get plastered. With a blazing determination, he aimed for a nearby ball next to a pocket, and ohgawdohgawdohgawd. There was a shirtless girl in the room. There was a shirtless girl next to him. There was a shirtless girl who wasn’t his sister.… he missed. He resisted the urge to facepalm. Instead, he just shimmied out of his jeans with a goodnatured grin.
“There goes a whoops for me too. I thought for sure that I had that one too. Haha.”

XXXXX Sometime in the past...
Lyra bent down to lean her arms on the table, being careful to make sure she didn't move it. She didn't want him to think that she was trying to ruin his hits. Though it seemed that he was doing a really good job of ruining it himself. She stood back up right with a laugh at the pathetic attempt he had made. "Well, you can't win them all." She smiled and rose an eyebrow at what he chose to remove. So, he wanted to go straight for his jeans? That was just fine with her. She dropped her eyes to look at the goods. Unfortunately, he had been wearing some underwear and they weren't even the kind that she could laugh at. They were just normal. She turned her attention back to the game and tried to decide if she should throw another one. She looked back over at him. He didn't look like he felt too awkward. Maybe she should take something else off. She lined up for another shot and sent a few balls flying in some various directions. "Dammit. I'm just not very good at this."
She shrugged and worked her way out of her jeans. She then leaned against the table with a smile. "Your turn."

Sometime in the near future...
Xeiro smiled, occasionally flickering his heavy eyes back over to the screen. The tea and the blanket, combined with how tired he had already felt and how comforting this little visit was, made him feel really sleepy. He questioned for a second if she had drugged him. As if perfect timing, she mentioned something about suffocating people. He felt a little strange about that, but she quickly alleviated his worry in further explaining herself. Oh, she meant like overbearing. That was okay, since that was kind of how his parenting style worked. He'd love to have her giving him all sorts of attention, but maybe he was just needy. He turned back over to her and smiled. "You don't have to worry. I promise to be honest with you, but I don't see how you could become annoying. You're perfect." He said followed by a yawn.
He turned his head at the sound of some people screaming. What was happening right now? He pulled the blanket up near his face and smiled down at the TV. This was nice. A nice girl and a nice movie. It almost made him happy that he had gotten sick. Would she be here for any other random reason? Maybe he should ask her if she'd like to do something once he was better. Yeah, that would be good. He felt like this was almost ever and the cooking festival was pretty close. He'd really like to have more days spent with her. "Say, Tshila. Would you, uh." He looked over at her with a strange mix of excitement and fear. What if she didn't want to hang out with him anymore? What if this was just some motherly thing and nothing more? He decided he should just go for it. The worst that could happen was she say no. Then he'd just have to try again and again and again. "Would you like to go to the Cooking Festival with me? It's fun." He spit out somewhat lazily.
Those drugs she had given him were really started to kick in and his eyes were feeling very heavy. He was fighting to keep them open as he awaited her response. In those few seconds, he began to lose the battle and dozed off with his head placed against the back of the couch.

Tshila was watching Xeiro start to doze off. He was so sweet-calling her perfect, asking her to the cooking festival. Oh! He'd totally just asked her on a date...thing. Tshila grinned at him, biting her lower lip. "I'd love to! I mean, you know, it sounds really fun!" She didn't really know what the cooking festival entailed, but the name made it kind of obvious. There would definitely be cooking involved. She wasn't sure he heard her because he'd fallen asleep already but she would see him at the bakery before then anyway, so she could confirm it with him there. She waited until she was certain he was completely asleep before she stood and went to turn down the television a bit. Heading back to the sofa, she brushed his hair off his forehead and leaned down to very lightly press her lips against his skin--he didn't seem warm so at least he wasn't running a fever. Pulling up the blanket, she gently tucked it around him before picking up the empty tea cup and taking it back to the kitchen to rinse it out and clean up from making tea. After ensuring everything was almost the way she'd found it (barring the kettle and tea cup in the sink), she checked on Xeiro one more time before letting herself out through the front, as quietly as she could. For a long moment, she stood on the porch smiling stupidly to herself before she let out a quiet squee and hurried away from the house. [exit]
