Ok because its been popping up a lot in one of the Kemetic forums I'm a member of and because I know this word gets tossed around a whole lot more in pagan circles, I feel this needs to get touched on. If for nothing else to get it out of my system before I start throwing books at people in that forum. cat_sweatdrop

First, because I know this comes up too when discussing patrons, matron is not the female version of patron. Matrons have nothing to do with religion at all. For the definition of matron please click here.

Now that that is out of the way, let's continue on to patrons. Patrons are not just simply the deity(ies) that you connect with like a good number of books, websites, and random people will tell you. They're not just your "go to" god. And not everyone has to have one either. Not everyone is suited to have a patron. And that's fine. Patron relationships are more "formal" and require more work than just an offering here and there.

Angelica has written an excellent blog post about patrons as part of the Kemetic Round Table. It can be found here.
